A perfect, quiet spot hidden in a parking lot. As someone who is notoriously indecisive, finding…read moreout I could get Edamame, Gyoza, AND karaage for $4 was a steal. The potato croquettes were fresh and crisp and perfect for picky eaters. The beef udon was great too! Usually this is where I'd try and make some small bit or joke, but after I finished all I could think was "Man...that was good." So I guess you could say it left me speechless and pleasantly surprised. (shout out to our waitress who was super kind and indulged in conversing about BTS for five minutes)

The dining room is really pretty, and well-appointed! We were seated right away by friendly staff. Looking around, this appeared to be a very family-friendly establishment, as that was, by far, the most prominent type of connoisseur in the house on this evening! Our waitress was wonderful, and helped us with some recommendations upon us letting her know it was our first visit! She checked in with us frequently, and made sure drinks were always refilled promptly! We had a bunch of different items, and all were very good! We tried sushi rolls, beef noodles, and ramen. I'd have to say that the beef noodles probably were the best item for me! Prices were just about as you'd expect: not too high, but not super cheap either...but wholly justified by the great food and lovely service and experience! I hadn't been since their renovation and made it there last Thursday. It was really cute ambiance - I loved the interior designer's work. The place has options of seating - inside and outside, ranging from metal chairs to comfortable upholstered benches. We got the tom kha to begin with, which my husband, who's not vegetarian, devoured. It was truly delicious! We then got the Kung Pao with mushrooms and it was incredible - the flavors, the choice of vegetables, the sauce - all of it! We also got a chow mein but with rice noodles - this was the one dish that could take some improvement. Granted, the original recipe calls for wheat noodles, and that might be really good, though our rice noodles version of it was came out soggy. Our server had clearly had a long day - she was tired and forgetful (didn't bring us rice and we had a hard time flagging her down to request it). She also just brought us the check after dinner, without asking if we wanted any dessert. All in all, highly recommend this place for delicious plant-based food.

One of the best things? Their rice comes cooking in the stone pots as well as the stews, which makes it perfectly cooked with just the right chew. The tea comes in thermos jugs that keep tea hot. Side dishes are always refilled at request. We felt very well fed dining here. Entire place very clean. No wonder family travels for more than half hour to get here when there are other places closer...food and service are just outstanding.

The atmosphere is straightforward and unpretentious, the kind of spot where you can settle in and know exactly what you are getting: a warm, filling bowl of stew and plenty of sides to round things out. The star of the menu is the soondubu jjigae, a bubbling hot soft tofu stew that arrives in a stone bowl and can be customized with different proteins and spice levels. I ordered it with a moderate spice level, and the stew came out rich, flavorful, and packed with silky tofu that practically melted in each spoonful. The stone bowl kept everything boiling hot throughout the meal, and cracking the egg directly into the stew while it was still bubbling added a creamy richness that tied the whole dish together. Each order comes with a bowl of rice, which balances the spice and makes the meal feel complete. The kimchi stew and bibimbap are also popular choices, and the seafood pancake is a great addition for sharing if you want to build out the table a bit more. One of the highlights of dining here is the variety of banchan that accompanies the meal. The side dishes add plenty of flavor and texture, with the kimchi, pickled radish, and bean sprouts providing a nice contrast to the rich, spicy stew. The combination of hot soup, rice, and banchan makes for a satisfying and complete meal, and the banchan are refilled without asking, which is a small detail that makes a big difference. Service is consistently friendly and efficient, even during busy periods, and the staff are happy to help guide newcomers through the menu, offering recommendations on spice levels and protein choices. SGD Dubu is a dependable destination for Korean comfort food, especially if you are craving a steaming bowl of tofu stew. Between the flavorful soondubu, generous portions, and plentiful banchan, it is the kind of place that leaves you full, warm, and already thinking about your next visit. It delivers exactly what you hope for from a neighborhood Korean spot: consistent quality, comforting flavors, and a meal that feels both hearty and complete.

We ordered pierogi's on a Friday night and they were incredible. We ordered a plate of half potato and cheese and half spinach and mozzarella. They were simply just amazing.
