She describes it as magical and while I might not go that far, I do agree that it has some soul healing properties. Because the weather was getting colder, it was a good time to check out this place in Winnetka located in the old shopping center. It's just a pretty small place with a few tables, so most people get it to go. Soupicurean is a nice locally owned business with a surprisingly large selection. Has something for all tastes almost. The prices aren't that good but it's high quality. After getting a few gifts from the mall, I got some soup from here. It has quite a few flavors, a surprise because this place is small. This is located in The Laundry, a mall repurposed from an old factory or warehouse. Find this on the eastern side of the building. This is a fairly small place but has a few tables. It's about $9 a cup. Some are more. Has a few vegan choices. I got the Butternut Squash. This had a nice thickness. Check this out for some hot soup to eat here or take home for later. It's actually pretty okay prices for the quality. There's a good variety and there's some for vegans and vegetarians. read more

Thanks to Yelp for promoting vegan/veggie friendly dining establishments, found this place because of their list. Checked out their menu on line and was gratified knowing they had no fewer than 9 vegetarian soups- yippee. So we went on over. It's a very small space so social distancing was not an option. We selected a pint of bean and kale but was undecided on a second choice so the person working the counter graciously offered us samples. I'm guessing they'd give us as many samples as we'd want. We sampled 3 and chose the veggie soup. Both soups were good but nothing I couldn't make myself, and a much larger portion for the same price. So, all things considered; service, taste, quality, quantity, and cost, I can't give this anything more than 3 stars. read more

Fantastic soups!! It was a cold snow day so I was on the hunt for a great tasting soup but was looking for something super healthy that had vegan options and this place blew me away! They always had my FAVORITE chicken salad, and to be honest, I was devastated when I found out Bongiorno closed. Soupicurean is amazing!!! I really like the new set up. They are concentrating on what they do best - Soups! They do not put cream or preservatives in their soups. All the soup ingredients are organic and they use grass fed beef, so the soups are made with the best ingredients. I can't get enough of their mushroom barley and beef barley soups. They are going on vacation Sunday so I'm stocking on their soups. I also love their Avocado BLT - they make the best bacon! It's crispy and made to perfection. I probably had their sandwich 3x this week. Bacon and Avocado - you can't go wrong. The owner is really nice and personable. Really great selection of soups and they are the stars of the show, and made with good healthy ingredients. The lentil soup was a standout (and I'm not normally a fan of lentil soup), my husband had that and I tasted it - it was delicious - really a standout. I liked the potato leek soup as well. I stopped in the other day on a whim and ended up walking out with two pints. The chef was there working the counter, and he was as kind and attentive as could be. He encouraged me to sample as many soups as I wanted, and he sent me out the door with a nice package of delicious rolls and crackers to accompany my soups. You have the option to get soups hot or cold, which I liked- I took one hot pint to have immediately for lunch, and got another one cold to stick in the fridge. I got a Chicken Noodle and a Potato Leek. Both were really tasty, and I appreciate that they use organic ingredients (all the soups are dairy free and most are gluten free as well, if that's important to you). The Potato Leek was a good version of a classic, while the Chicken Noodle was unique and craveable. I would recommend planning to takeout your soup, as it's a pretty tiny shop with limited seating. I'm so glad I found this place! I'm celiac and one of my friends is gluten free dairy free. I've tried 2 soups so far, both delicious. I'm a big fan of chicken salad and love that I can have it in a salad bowl. Everything is fresh and you can tell it's actually homemade. My only con is I wish they did offer GF bread for sandwiches. If you have histamine intolerance, or are gluten free/dairy free, I HIGHLY recommend this place. Good spot for vegans and vegetarians as well.. so many clean soups. I have been coming here for several years and always enjoy the meals which consist of an excellent selection of both breakfast and lunch foods. My entire family really looks forward to carry out which we frequently do on the weekend for both breakfast and lunch selections available anytime. Favorites include the vegetarian omelette with egg whites, the various club sandwiches, turkey chili and they have fantastic hash browns to go with the breakfast selections. Hamburger was a double patty, came with grilled onions as per request but nothing else (no other condiments) Bun pretty mushy ( they're only a few blocks from our house).
