We had the most delightful waitress. We spent a good amount of time talking to her, and she even chatted with my children. The establishment is a fancier diner. The restroom was clean and very spacious. They have their own parking lot as well. I ordered the sirloin burger with bacon. The bacon may have been old. The burger was okay. I have mixed feelings about this place. I got a sirloin cheese burger. It was cooked perfectly but I don't think the burger was seasoned. It lacked salt and it was a really thick patty. You have to pay extra for onion rings and the onion rings were ok. My kids got a grilled cheese and a Mac and cheese. They enjoyed it. The waitress gave us great service. She was engaged with our kids. My wife thought her burger was ok. The location was in a great spot beautifully decorated. Bathrooms were very clean. My biggest complaint would be the prices. 2 burgers 1 plain mac and cheese 1 grilled cheese was about 80 dollars. It's a nice place but I don't think I would go back. read more

I'm visiting family and friends in Wilmette and had breakfast on Sunday, and lunch on Thursday at the Ridgeview Grill. I thought I would combine both meals into this review. For breakfast on Sunday, I had pancakes, and an omelette with hash browns and toast. I selected the Garden Omelette, it was very good. The egg was fluffy and had a substantial amount of spinach, broccoli, onions, tomatoes and feta (I substituted instead of mozzarella) cheese. I forgot to ask to have the omelette made with butter, which I believe substantially adds to the flavor of the egg, but the oil they used was fine. The hash browns were crispy on the outside, not too oily, and cooked just right .....we added salt and ketchup and they were delicious. If you saw the picture of the pancakes I attached, you'll see they're small, and flat. They come with the omelette (you get the choice of toast or pancakes). It appears they're made in large batches and may have been sitting on top of each other. That being said, while I was hoping for a large, fluffy pancake, this one at least, was soft and tasted fine....and given the choice of toast and pancakes in the future, I'll still take the pancakes! I went back to the Grill on Thursday and had the sirloin burger with sweet potato fries. I like my burgers 'medium well', which I've found is next to impossible to get right. Restaurants can't seem to figure out how to leave the center pink, not red, or well done. This one was well done; but juicy, tender and flavorful, which was fine with me. The sweet potato fries were very good - I've read some reviews where there were criticisms for lack of salt. I like adding my own salt - so on my hash browns for breakfast and the sweet potatoes for lunch, I added salt and they were perfect. read more

Everything is amazing here. I got the Athenian chicken today and I paid the up charge for the French onion soup. Husband got the meatloaf with blue cheese crumbles and chicken noodle soup. Everything is so fresh. Well seasoned and great customer service. read more

Thanks to yelp we stumbled on to Ridgeville Grill, last night. We had a couple people looking for hot turkey sandwiches and boy. Did we ever find them? A ton of turkey loaded up with mashed potatoes, stuffing carrots, green beans, and gravy everywhere. Just delicious. Next time I'm doubling up on the cranberry sauce. Someone else got the ribs. Someone else got the pasta and I've got a chicken Caesar salad for dinner tonight. This might be the place I used to go to when I was in high school called, "Parker's", but what a fine this is. I was checking out the menu, next time we order from them, I will be looking for the double pork chop, and the turkey club sandwich. By the way, Valerie, who I think owns the place or manages it could not have been friendlier or more helpful on the phone. I can't quite put it into words, but whenever I eat out or dine in, they always do their best to accommodate each guest. The menu is great and has a lot options. The bbq ribs are personally my favorite. The ambiance is great and has a vintage vibe to it which makes it timeless. You can tell that the cooks really take their time to make each meal. Short answer, nope. When you walk in to the restaurant you are full of promise, anticipation, and cheer. The ambience of this place begs you to sit down like you are getting ready for an experience. The wait staff are friendly and provide a welcoming environment. Then the food arrives... when the menu says ham off the bone (which it is) I had high hopes. But honestly, the eggs had no flavor and the American slice cheese didn't really sit well with me. The hash browns were unseasoned as well unless you consider burnt a seasoning. It lost all potato flavoring and the burn just made everything else taste... burnt. The English muffin was fine. The black iced tea was the highlight of the entire meal. I really wished I would have liked it. I love the look and feel and if they put as much effort into the food, it would be great. The price is right though. I've been a frequent at this restaurant for years and I have had it with the owner and male servers. I don't get a hello and they basically are rude even the man who serves me coffee cant give me eye contact or refills. I asked for a to go cup today for my newly ordered soda and the server came back with a check for $1.10. Prices have gone up and it's gotten so bad no one greets you at the door or asks how the meal was. We need an alternative in Wilmette. I miss Bakers Square that had the friendliest servers and hosts and it was pleasant and great value. read more

Bad. My nephew ordered a Mac and cheese, turned out to be a melted mozzarella cube in crunchy pasta drowned in olive oil. Jeez. However, my grilled cheese and tomato soup was fine, but the soup was too salty. Service was well.......ok. The ambiance around here is cozy, felt like a cottage I guess. Since moving to Wilmette in 2016 Ridgeview Grill has been one of our main breakfast and lunch spots. The restaurant is clean, the servers are friendly, the food is great and the owners are very conscientious warm people. I like their omelettes, the eggs over easy with spinach. Their French toast is also the best in the burbs! During Covid we've been ordering takeout and pulling up front and having it placed in the car. The third spin great and the service is even better. Feeling lucky to have a great neighborhood spot like this it's just anybody on the North Shore check it out. read more

The food is good overall, but what makes this place outstanding is the excellent service and the acoustics! You can actually carry on a conversation no matter how crowded the restaurant is. Brought my wife in for breakfast on Saturday morning. We ordered omelettes that were just okay. They came out a bit cold. Nothing a little hot sauce couldn't fix! The bacon was delicious and our busboy and waitress were fantastic but the environment was strange. I overheard the owner or possibly the manager, loudly reprimanding a different waitress, in front of other customers which I found to be very unpleasant and off putting. My friend and I came to check out the Ridgeview Restaurant for lunch. It feels like an upscale diner, but without the upscale prices. The menu is extensive, as they offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner options, offering items like benedicts, sandwiches, meatloaf, and pastas. I was in the mood for a skillet, so I tried out the 'Irish Man's' skillet - this came with shredded hash browns (that were quite crispy!), corned beef hash, green peppers, onions, cheddar cheese, and two eggs (any style). At first, I thought the portion was slightly on the small end, but don't let the bird's eye view fool you - there is a good chunk of food lying beneath them eggs! :D You also get to choose either pancakes or toast of your choice (I had the buttermilk pancakes that were pretty okay). My friend had their special, the 'Crab Cake Benedict,' - she stated that it was pretty nice. Ketchup and hot sauce are readily available, and service was very friendly and nice. A pleasant find in Wilmette! We ordered take out. We have ordered from them multiple times. I guess you would think we would learn from our mistakes. The chicken tenders had more batter than chicken. The quesadillas were dry. The Cajun chicken sandwich is also dry. We order because it always sounds like a great meal until we receive it. Then it kind of falls flat, bland in taste. read more

Nice little restaurant right on the corner of Lake and Ridge - easy to find and easy to get to ... across the street from St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Parking in the back of this little strip-mall is a bit Balkanized but be patient and something usually opens up. As to the food it was nice - a typical Greek kind of place where they have an extensive menu of items and pull it off pretty well. I had the tuna melt - and it was tasty, even though the chunks of celery were a bit bigger than the chunks of tuna. Since they have a full bar, we'll visit again some day and have a beer and try out their dinner. This one is nice enough for us to return. read more

Ridgeview offers a welcoming atmosphere for all ages. We saw families with infants and toddlers and other parties with seniors who needed walkers or canes. All were welcomed. Friendly service. Never felt a push to finish our meal to make room for others. We had three lunches here during a stay in the area. On two occasions, DH and I chose to split a sandwich. Both times the sandwiches were served on separate plates with a generous serving of fries which had obviously not been split. Comfortable, family feel. Generous servings.
