Sirloin burger with onion rings.
Jeremías C.

I have mixed feelings about this place. I got a sirloin cheese burger. It was cooked perfectly but I don't think the burger was seasoned. It lacked salt and it was a really thick patty. You have to pay extra for onion rings and the onion rings were ok. My kids got a grilled cheese and a Mac and cheese. They enjoyed it. The waitress gave us great service. She was engaged with our kids. My wife thought her burger was ok. The location was in a great spot beautifully decorated. Bathrooms were very clean. My biggest complaint would be the prices. 2 burgers 1 plain mac and cheese 1 grilled cheese was about 80 dollars. It's a nice place but I don't think I would go back.

Sirloin Burger with Sweet Potato Fries

I'm visiting family and friends in Wilmette and had breakfast on Sunday, and lunch on Thursday at the Ridgeview Grill. I thought I would combine both meals into this review. For breakfast on Sunday, I had pancakes, and an omelette with hash browns and toast. I selected the Garden Omelette, it was very good. The egg was fluffy and had a substantial amount of spinach, broccoli, onions, tomatoes and feta (I substituted instead of mozzarella) cheese. I forgot to ask to have the omelette made with butter, which I believe substantially adds to the flavor of the egg, but the oil they used was fine. The hash browns were crispy on the outside, not too oily, and cooked just right .....we added salt and ketchup and they were delicious. If you saw the picture of the pancakes I attached, you'll see they're small, and flat. They come with the omelette (you get the choice of toast or pancakes). It appears they're made in large batches and may have been sitting on top of each other. That being said, while I was hoping for a large, fluffy pancake, this one at least, was soft and tasted fine....and given the choice of toast and pancakes in the future, I'll still take the pancakes! I went back to the Grill on Thursday and had the sirloin burger with sweet potato fries. I like my burgers 'medium well', which I've found is next to impossible to get right. Restaurants can't seem to figure out how to leave the center pink, not red, or well done. This one was well done; but juicy, tender and flavorful, which was fine with me. The sweet potato fries were very good - I've read some reviews where there were criticisms for lack of salt. I like adding my own salt - so on my hash browns for breakfast and the sweet potatoes for lunch, I added salt and they were perfect.

Athenian Chicken

Everything is amazing here. I got the Athenian chicken today and I paid the up charge for the French onion soup. Husband got the meatloaf with blue cheese crumbles and chicken noodle soup. Everything is so fresh. Well seasoned and great customer service.

A very good menu, nice decor and attentive staff. I rate this as only three stars because the coffee is very bitter and makes me grimace.

It's located right down the street from Northwestern University's football stadium (whatever the heck they're naming it). This is a nice hidden gem in Evanston. Not located downtown, it may have a chance to stick around a while. As Jane V. noted in her review, you are greeted by a delicious smoky smell when you enter the restaurant. It was an inviting smell (at least for me), others in our group thought we were walking into a barbecue joint and were less than thrilled, but the menu put them at ease as it has a lot of options. There were five of us and one couple decided to share a couple appetizers as their entrees. They ordered the Cauliflower Buffalo Bites, and the Macho Nacho. They were huge portions easily enough for us all to share. However, my wife and I don't see eye-to-eye with our eating habits (she is mostly vegetarian and I'm a card-carrying carnivore), so she was not about to share the smoky wings and cheesy tots with me. I opted for the Chicken Vesuvio entree, and she and our other friend both ordered the Inside-Out Grilled Cheese. I would say most the sandwiches looked good (no portobello for me, thanks). I would say though, the desserts are pretty generic, so we opted out, but their is a door inside the restaurant to the donut shop next door (which was closed), but I wanted to try that place, so I'll have to make another trek out there for them and review them later. I'm amazed that the donut shop, DB3 Donuts, does not appear on their menu at all, despite having a connecting door from one establishment to the other, but alas, I've heard their apple crisp and brownie are good, but neither were too appealing that night. All meals were delicious and I definitely need to go back and try other dishes. And may DB3, if they are open. Give this place some love as it is a nice gem in Evanston.

Holy Moley, did we find great food in Evanston!…read more We celebrated Saint Patrick's Day at Ten Mile House restaurant in Evanston @tenmilehouse When we walked in the door, they had a delicious smoky smell that was driving me crazy. So much so that I ordered the smoked Sampler plate, and was I glad I did. I started off with their Top O' The Morning special Saint Patrick's cocktail (Titos, Curacao, and orange juice shaken and poured over ice). I really loved this drink. My hubby had a Margarita that was just delightful. Our appetizers were: Angry Shrimp (really delicious) shrimp with a spicy tomato garlic sauce. Served over polenta cake. Ahi Tuna Wanton (mango jicama salsa, avocado, and teriyaki sauce) This should be their signature appetizer). The presentation is impeccable. It appealed to our eyes before the 1st bite. And,the first bite, as well as the rest, was wonderful. We would gladly return here just for this. Our entrees were: Grilled Salmon with corn risotto, grilled asparagus, smoked tomato aioli. The salmon was well cooked to medium, not too dry, and not too rare. The plate was well balanced and everything was very tasty. Smoked Sampler My favorite! Rib tips, brisket, pulled pork, Texas toast, cole slaw. For dessert: Chocolate Brownie Apple Crisp Both were so good that we did not want to share! The next time you are in the Evanston area, you really must stop in for their delicious food!

Order a few drinks and talked with these two guys for fifteen minutes or so off and on before we even ordered anything. Just felt right, small conversation great atmosphere. We each ordered the three taco plate. I had one fish taco, one elote taco and one Arrachera taco. My wife hard three pork belly tacos. Hard to say which was out favorite because they were all equally as delicious and bursting with flavor from the fresh ingredients. We will be returning soon the March to try their corned beef and leprechaun margaritas before it's over. A must try restaurant in Norwood park.

The vibe was very comfy, not too upscale- think "chillaxed" vibes. I came with 2 girlfriends and we each had a different type of margarita. I got a pitcher of the cucumber margaritas and it was my first time having a cucumber margarita, and it DID NOT disappoint! Very might recommend! The bartender, Sean/Shawn was amazing! I also got to try their seasonal blood orange margarita, which was also delicious! We had the flautas appetizer and for my entree, I ordered the chorizo taco and the pork belly taco. I didn't even make it to the pork belly taco because I was full off the flauta and chorizo taco lol. The hot sauces that they bring to your table in the squirt bottles were bomb dot com!! Spicy enough for some "flava" but not burn your bottle hole spicy. Overall, I highly recommend this establishment for the vibes (I requested they play Bad Bunny and they obliged- zero questions asked and no pushback) and the food! If you're ever having group get together or small party, this place would be great! They also have brunch on the weekends which I will bring some moms back for, for some "Momosa" Dates! Americanos- you may as well give me a special discount code or something, at this point.. you'll never get rid of me!

The first thing that hits you when you walk in is the smell, and it is coming from the outdated carpet. It is not subtle. It lingers throughout the entire space and makes it hard to fully enjoy the experience or even have much of an appetite. Older carpet is a real issue in restaurants. Over time, it traps dust, food particles, grease from the air, moisture, and bacteria. If it is not regularly deep cleaned or replaced, that buildup starts to break down and creates a heavy, musty odor. It does not stay contained in the carpet either, it rises into the air and essentially fills the entire space. The smell is so strong that it takes away from what would otherwise be a really good dining experience. Updating or properly maintaining the carpet would make an immediate and noticeable difference.
