Perfectly greasy, and the caramlized onions and spinach really elevated it. Another person in our group had the turkey on a pretzel bun and said it was amazing. Also, a great range of drink options. No parking available in front of the store. There is street paid parking available near by and a paid parking lot next to the building. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered a margarita. I was a little disappointed they did not offer higher quality tequila like Lalo and G-4. "They just ran out" is what they said. I went for the next best tequila they did have but not my top choice. The drink was great. I hope they offer better tequila options when I return. We started with the Bao Sliders. I was pleasantly surprised. They were well seasoned and flavorful. It's a descent portion, I was full and did not order additional dishes. I shared the Cajun Salmon Salad which is also a very generous portion. The salmon was well seasoned and cooked to perfection. I hope to be back and try other items on their menu. It looks like they offer fun events through out the week. It would be fun to try them as well.

I couldn't make out the beers on tap so I asked the sad sack behind the bar (he didn't welcome me when I sat down) about the beers. He read off the names of the three (of six) I could see so I ordered one. The other three will forever by a mystery. He pours me a 12 oz. "Cold Time" (produced by local brewery Revolution) in a standard (read "dull") mug and places it in front of me. Then he hands me a menu and tells me it's happy hour for 45 more minutes. I ask if the beer he just poured me is the "rotating draft of the month" -- on the happy hour menu for $5. "No," he says (without explanation). So what I want to know is should I have a) just walked out right then and there, b) told him I wanted to change my order, or c) introduced him to the idea that maybe (just maybe) he might have told me about the happy hour special as soon as I sat down like a normal bartender (I bartended through my 20s).

There's enough room for a group and there's a few window seats along with booths and tables. Has a few local beers on tap including Around The Bend. It's about $12 for a small pizza. Got it and the crust was fluffy while being crispy. They charge per each topping and these aren't cheap so we only got mushrooms. Other menu items include calzones. These are great if eating it yourself and not wanting to look like a pig. For sure it's another pizza place but this is way better than average. It's located right down the street from Northwestern University's football stadium (whatever the heck they're naming it). This is a nice hidden gem in Evanston. Not located downtown, it may have a chance to stick around a while. As Jane V. noted in her review, you are greeted by a delicious smoky smell when you enter the restaurant. It was an inviting smell (at least for me), others in our group thought we were walking into a barbecue joint and were less than thrilled, but the menu put them at ease as it has a lot of options. There were five of us and one couple decided to share a couple appetizers as their entrees. They ordered the Cauliflower Buffalo Bites, and the Macho Nacho. They were huge portions easily enough for us all to share. However, my wife and I don't see eye-to-eye with our eating habits (she is mostly vegetarian and I'm a card-carrying carnivore), so she was not about to share the smoky wings and cheesy tots with me. I opted for the Chicken Vesuvio entree, and she and our other friend both ordered the Inside-Out Grilled Cheese. I would say most the sandwiches looked good (no portobello for me, thanks). I would say though, the desserts are pretty generic, so we opted out, but their is a door inside the restaurant to the donut shop next door (which was closed), but I wanted to try that place, so I'll have to make another trek out there for them and review them later. I'm amazed that the donut shop, DB3 Donuts, does not appear on their menu at all, despite having a connecting door from one establishment to the other, but alas, I've heard their apple crisp and brownie are good, but neither were too appealing that night. All meals were delicious and I definitely need to go back and try other dishes. And may DB3, if they are open. Give this place some love as it is a nice gem in Evanston.

So much so that I ordered the smoked Sampler plate, and was I glad I did. I started off with their Top O' The Morning special Saint Patrick's cocktail (Titos, Curacao, and orange juice shaken and poured over ice). I really loved this drink. My hubby had a Margarita that was just delightful. Our appetizers were: Angry Shrimp (really delicious) shrimp with a spicy tomato garlic sauce. Served over polenta cake. Ahi Tuna Wanton (mango jicama salsa, avocado, and teriyaki sauce) This should be their signature appetizer). The presentation is impeccable. It appealed to our eyes before the 1st bite. And,the first bite, as well as the rest, was wonderful. We would gladly return here just for this. Our entrees were: Grilled Salmon with corn risotto, grilled asparagus, smoked tomato aioli. The salmon was well cooked to medium, not too dry, and not too rare. The plate was well balanced and everything was very tasty. Smoked Sampler My favorite! Rib tips, brisket, pulled pork, Texas toast, cole slaw. For dessert: Chocolate Brownie Apple Crisp Both were so good that we did not want to share! The next time you are in the Evanston area, you really must stop in for their delicious food!

Large $16 or Small $9 Nigvziani Badrijani (Stuffed eggplant with walnut garlic paste) - liked this a lot! $24 Chkmeruli (Traditional Georgian - style oven backed chicken soaked in garlic creamy sauce served in a clay pan) - sauce was thinner than expected. Tasted really yummy! Yes garlicky but not overpowering. I love garlic so I wouldn't have been unhappy if it was more garlic forward. Chicken didn't soak the flavor as much as I expected so it needed sauce to get the flavor. Chicken a little dry. $25 Khinkali (Traditional Georgian dumplings with a twisted top, generously filled with your choice of spiced meat, cheese, or mushrooms, 5 Pieces) - loved these! My favorite dish. Expensive for 5 though, even though they are big. Meat was tender and flavorful. $25 Chakhokhbili (Traditional Georgian family style chicken dish with red peppers onions & herbs) - chicken was a little dry again. Flavors were mild, I was hoping for bold flavors. It was good just not what I expected. Perfect if you're looking for something more mild in flavor without any spice. $25 chicken Ojakhuri (Juicy marinated kabob pieces baked with potatoes and onions, seasoned with traditional Georgian spices and served sizzling in a rustic clay pan) - chicken a little dry again. Potato's were the winner here, garlicky and flavorful! Barely any onions. Price - expensive Portion - good portion, also keeping in mind price is high so it's good the portion is reasonable Service - great! Didn't check on us much though

We found this restaurant through the yelp reviews, and, as usual, the yelp wisdom of crowds was correct. The meal was absolutely delicious. Sorry, I can't remember the Georgian names of the dishes but the eggplant rolls filled with walnut paste, the bread with melted cheese and egg yolk and the lamb and potato stew were all great choices. The food tasted home-made, as if a grandmother had cooked for us with love in every bite. Lots of garlic - we love that. Washed down with a glass or dry red Georgian wine, a perfect pairing. We were fully satisfied with our main dishes so were not able to try dessert. Next time. The atmosphere was nice - tablecloths on the table, friendly service, not noisy. Nice ambiance that's casual enough to feel comfortable bringing my kids, but upscale enough for the evening to feel like a nice night out. Loved the appies - we got the cauliflower hummus and deviled eggs - highly recommend both. As for entrees, chicken sandwich was perfectly fried crispy with not too much breading, on a biscuit. Fries were just ok. They were unfortunately out of the schnitzel I wanted to try so I had the halibut special instead. The fish was perfectly cooked, but the composition of the fish was rather confusing - the lobster bisque-like sauce was fantastic on its own, but overpowered the delicate halibut. The crispy yuca strips went perfectly with the fish, but the dish was finished off with lots of shishito peppers - again, way too overpowering. I would have preferred a much subtler vegetable. Kids Mac and cheese was fantastic, with a hint of what I think was thyme. The drink list was heavily spirit -forward. I ended up getting a sangria which was good, but my husband thought the old fashioned was terrible. The balance of spirit vs bitters was completely off, plus it was served over tiny ice instead of a large cube. To top it all off, the cherry was muddled.
