As a vegan, I truly appreciate plant-based restaurants where I can literally order anything off the menu. Since I was grabbing and going today, I used their website to place my order, which was the EleWrap Original meal, which came with a wrap, fries, and a drink. My receipt said it would take about 15 minutes before the food was ready, by I'd say it took only 5 minutes, which was super quick! The gentleman working there was very courteous and kind. He made me feel like a valued customer. The wrap tasted great, but was tiny. Unfortunately, I didn't realize it was their snack-sized wrap. The fries were simple, but I appreciate simple. I was also thrilled that E&V's soda machine had Cherry Coke. Although I didn't stay long, the restaurant and restroom were both clean. But the real winner was the SoCal wrap with the Meatie (mushroom) Chicken which you couldn't taste that it was mushroom, the texture was so much like chicken! Plus it was surprisingly very good, very hearty and the cabbage, lettuce, corn and other veggies in it complemented the overall taste of the wrap! The workers here were very accommodating in answering our questions and asked if we needed anything and the service was nice. The chicken tenders were good. They use impossible burger for the burgers but you can choose black bean patty or other options. The portion of the food does not justify the price though. I'd come back for that wrap! I liked that for the fountain drinks, they also had iced teas if you're not feeling the carbonated pops. I liked that they had so many options to accommodate my food allergies. The ambiance was warm and inviting; the lighting in particular was bright but still diffuse. Finding menus with plant based options isn't always easy, so it was great to find this restaurant and find that the food was AMAZING! I had the mammoth burger, which has an Impossible Burger base with a Big Mac type sauce on it. Oh my word, it was so delicious! I also tried the brownie, which is gluten free, as an added bonus. Came here one afternoon with my husband and ordered the Buffalo Chik'n Burger, SoCal Wrap (with Chik'n), and Cauli Wings. Both the burger and wrap were delicious--the flavors were spot on, and the Chik'n was fantastic. We had a great experience at their sister restaurant, Spirit Elephant, which led us to try Elephant and Vine. The Cauli Wings, while flavorful and spicy, had way too much sauce. A little adjustment there would go a long way. One thing that felt off was the use of black plastic utensils, which seems out of place at a vegan spot focused on environmental consciousness. Additionally, serving Coke and Sprite doesn't align with the health-focused values often associated with veganism. A shift to more eco-friendly utensils and natural beverage options would make a lot more sense for a vegan restaurant. read more

Definitely a must try restaurant! I randomly saw this restaurant listed as an option on Uber eats. I'd never seen it before and when I googled it, I saw it was near me so I decided to take a quick trip. It's cute and quaint - right in downtown evanston for the Northwestern students. I went it and right off the bat I felt the plant base vibe. Ya know the "plants-everywhere- hippie music" vibe.... My type of place! The staff are welcoming and cheerful (all young college students). I ordered the BBQ Burger, mango chili cauliflower bites and a strawberry shake. My friend got a bowl and an Oreo shake. The burger - definitely uses impossible meat. I'm not a huge fan of the brand impossible. If it's used by restaurants I like for them to add additional seasoning to it. One plus is that all options can be turned into gluten free for those who need that or want to try. I also wanted more bbq sauce and crispy onions. The bites- I didn't expect a semi dry rub. I would have preferred it to be saucy. The crust was crispy and so was the actual cauliflower. I guess I'm used to the other cauliflower bites from other places being deep fried or cooked too long because it comes out tender. These didn't melt in my mouth the way I would've wanted. The shake is super thick and delicious. Get it! The bowl - it was lacking in flavor. Definitely gave off sweet green vibes. The mammoth burger here was pretty tasty but definitely a messy one. Also tried the SoCal chik'n wrap which was a little too juicy and on the sweeter side with the corn and sauce. Still had a nice, cool refreshing crunch with iceberg lettuce and plenty of veggies. Definitely ordered a single patty and sweet potato fries and got a double and regular fries. This is a decent plant-based fast food restaurant. We enjoyed all of our food. None of it quite jumped off the page, but it all felt above average and above board. Even the fries tasted better than expected, even though they're the more typical thin style of fries. The inside is nice to dine in, though it's on the loud side. The sidewalk patio is available if you prefer to look at the street and be humid. ;-) I would come back to Evanston if it meant coming here. (Not that Evanston is a bad thing. Really good place! We're all open to eating plant based, this fast casual joint is for you. The wrap was incredible (Porto house) my friend had the zero clucks (hehe) and she loved it. I'm not a fan of their cauliflower wings but I loved the wrap! Kids meals and diary free smoothies are available. Coming as someone who's unfamiliar with the area parking can be complex.
