Got to be the best place for Middle Eastern food in Evanston. Habibi In is a hugely popular…read morerestaurant. It seriously gets a lot of people in here, and there's not much room so it always seems busy though. Easy to say there's lots of business going on, and there's not a whole lot of room inside. The prices are pretty good especially when getting platters. Came and we got a couple of the combos. It's about $13 for a platter. They have chicken and other meats, or vegetables, so you can get these in a wrap. Got us the vegetarian friendly ones. I got the Falafel Sandwich. This is a falafel entree meal that comes in the choice of pita or wrap. A lot of combos you can get. These include kabobs. Get a drink and fries to save a few bucks. There's a few that are meaty. Has pretty big food menu that makes it hard to choose. It's best to get one of the platters to save a lot of money. There's plenty for meat eaters, including the beef and chicken, and there's plenty for vegans and vegetarians.

Staff was friendly and helpful to pick our meal items. You pay after ordering. They took our name and within 10 min or so, got the food delivered to our table. Food was freshly cooked and attractive. Got the Habibi plate, gyro mix with chicken, and strawberry date shake. Habibi plate and gyro plate gave a lot of overlap, so if you want more variety pick a more different 2nd item. Food quality was good. Taste was very appetizing, cooked and presented well. Enjoyed everything, but would probably not suggest the strawberry date shake. All they had was strawberry icecream left when we visited. Quality of the shake was good but could have been more enjoyable with a different flavor combo. Would come back again to try different menu items.

I've had, oh, I don't know... probably 50 falafel sandwiches from Pita Inn at this point. Or maybe…read more100? No idea. DoorDash, call ahead, order at the counter, it's all a blur. All I know is that when it comes to falafel, Pita Inn is where I'm headed. I've had a falafel addiction since I was a wee lad. It calls to me. The crisp shell. The moist and not-too-dense insides. Seasoning balanced on a knife's edge. I'm salivating. Falafel, calling my name. There are different approaches to falafel, I know, but Pita Inn lines it up exactly how I like it. Skokie has a plethora of Middle Eastern eateries, and while I have no idea why that is, I'm not mad at piles of falafel on every block. For awhile I was motivated to try other falafel spots. But why? What am I doing? Pita Inn cooks those golden spheres to perfection. And then on top of that, they bring in the accoutrements for backup. The hot sauce. The endless raw onions with sumac. Piles of pickled turnips. They just do it. Then, when I think it's over, they knock me out with a flawless lentil soup and a plant-based kabob made with charbroiled Impossible meat. I give up. Pita Inn, just keep my card on file. I'm not going anywhere else. Take my money. You win.

Picked this up for a last-minute dinner. My boyfriend ordered the chicken shawarma, which was…read moretasty. I ordered the falafel, which was decent. They give you some sauces, but you have to pay extra for the garlic sauce--worth it because it's delicious. It definitely helped my falafel since it was a bit bland and had too much lettuce. The lentil soup was okay; I wouldn't get it again because the texture was a little weird. But the pita though?! You can tell they make it there, and it's super fresh.

Mediteranean food is one of favorite foods & both my sister & I had Larsa's Mediteranean bookmarked…read morefor awhile so when my sister suggested lunch. I said Larsa's? And wala here we are. Now I have eaten at a lot of Mediteranean restaurants over the years & just like every other food type there are some great place, good places & mediocre places. Larsa's definitely rates in the great range. Their food is delicious. In the past people, myself included used Pita Inn as a benchmark, but that's mainly because in the beginning there wasn't much to compare to. I have been trying different Mediteranean restaurants and Larsa's left PI in the rear view mirror. You can't even begin to compare the food at Larsa's to the former as the ingredients and flavors are far superior. Sure the cost is a little more, but there is absolutely no comparison as Larsa's food is far superior everything is made individually and not an assembly line production We started with a cup of lentil soup. I was like a starving animal savoring every bit of that soup. I should have gotten a bowl as it was delicious. Our server Nadia also brought out a regular serving of the jalapeño & cilantro hummus served w/warm thin pita bread. OMG this was like heaven. My sister mentioned that she could make a meal out just the hummus and the pita and I agree. Next we had the Fatoush Salad this has crispy pita crust, lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, radishes, green peppers w/a dressing with olive oil, lemon & sumac. This was just ok, but I liked the crispy pita bread it added a nice crunch. We split a combo platter as the portion size is very generous. This dish comes w/chicken kabobs, beef kifta, beef shawarma, red onions, tomatoes slices & basmati long grain rice. The kifta & chicken kabobs were both very tasty, it they were a little dry. The beef shawarma was cooked & seasoned perfectly as the pieces just melted in my mouth. Every once in awhile our server Nadia came by and was very helpful in telling us about dishes we had questions about. She was super cool and friendly. There was another server that was also very helpful, but we didn't catch her name. Sometimes you go to a restaurant that everyone raves about and you think ehhh what the big deal, but this isn't the case w/Larsa's. I will definitely be back again. Thanks for the heads up Yelpies you picked a winner.
