    Gyro Sandwich $12.00
    Mark A.

I have been eating at Olympus Gyros in Mount Prospect ,IL (Fantastic) for 30+ years, but I stumbled across this place doing in a corporate event in Evanston Illinois and was told about this place that has been in business for over 30 years now second generation owned by the daughter. The ambience is old school vibes just like you a picture in Chicago restaurant, very clean but absolutely fantastic delicious egg lemon soup the original and right way to Make lemon soup , Just flip'n fantastic as well as the Gyro sandwich..It doesn't get any better than this!!! And for the $22 bucks for soup and a sandwich , it's best deal in town and worth every penny highly recommend this place. FYI!!!!! *****It's Cash only!!! ***** Cheers!!!

Truly a legit Greek restaurant. Reasonably priced (cash only), which is not a bad thing. A good sized menu serving authentic Greek appetizers, sandwiches, and full meals. Their salads are no joke! Excellent fresh veggies loaded into your plate and generous helpings of feta cheese. The small are large and the large can be shared. The egg lemon soup is the real deal. This is easily the kind of place you can find yourself a few times a week. There really is something fur everybody here.

Cross-Rhodes is one of my favorite places to get a burger. I've come here for many, many years and have eaten countless burgers. I get the Charburger with feta, and it's served with all the fixins on a sesame bun. It's always perfectly grilled and juicy and is served with Greek fries (crispy cottage with vinegar and oregano) which are just amazing. My friend has always ordered the vegetarian salad with slices of gyro with a cup of avgolemono soup. The tzatziki sauce is thick and garlicky and so good. Portions are very generous. Cross-Rhodes is nothing fancy but if you want simple and hearty Greek food, you'll find it here. Staff has been here for ages. Cash only but there's an ATM in the vestibule. Once long ago, we considered living around the corner from Cross-Rhodes, which would have been a disaster for my hips. As it is we make a regular pilgrimage and I'm always happy and excited to get a burger and look forward to the next visit.

My boyfriend has been wanting to take me to Cross-Rhodes forever as they have one is his favorite burgers; The Rhodes Burger, which is a half pound burger patty with cheese, topped with gyros meat on a sesame seed bun. It sits on a bed of steak cut Greek fries, which are equally loved. It's a big burger and will keep you full for most of the day. He asked for it to be cooked medium, and it was perfectly medium. I took a couple of bites, and the meat was so soft and juicy and the gyros was perfectly crispy. They don't skimp on the gyros. I ordered chicken souvlaki with grilled vegetables and tzatziki sauce. Chicken kabob in general is pretty similar from restaurant to restaurant, but their chicken kabob was one that I especially enjoyed. It had great flavor, wasn't dry, but also wasn't swimming in juice and had a beautiful char. I love a char on my meats, so it was pretty hard to not finish my plate. The tzatziki was very good - thick, with good flavor and not overly garlicky. The service was wonderful. We were greeted upon arrival and as we left by who I assume was the owner. Our waitress was very sweet and personable and made you feel right at home. Very cozy place. If you're in the area, be sure to give it a try.

Cross rhodes was there first place I ate at when moving to Evanston. It will always have a special place in my heart. The restaurant is cash only which makes it really difficult for me to visit without making a separate trip to an ATM first. If it's your first time here, definitely get the gryo dinner plate with tzatziki sauce. This plate will feed you twice and you will be dreaming of the sauce.

I found the portions huge but the product over cooked and dry. I read other reviews but I do not agree and I will never return.

They had plenty of staff who were actively busing tables and who were available if we wanted additional drinks. Being vegan, I ordered the nachos and warm pretzels. Both were absolutely delicious! Bingo night was fun. They had fun interesting prizes for each game as well as a raffle at the end for $100.

It's spacious and a super cool venue, which was used for my daughter's high school fundraiser last weekend. I visited Double Clutch twice within one week. The first was a meeting held at the venue right before the event where everyone got to enjoy some beer (except those of us who don't love beer and opted for water) and some of the food that would be served at the event the following weekend. I munched on some turnbuckle pretzels, fried buffalo bites and cauli wings- all were pretty good! A few days later we sold out with a 300 person event, although honestly we could have fit way more in the space because there was plenty of room to move around. The band Go Ask Your Mum was playing lots of fun 80s and 90s hits, there was a buffet of the food we had tried a few days beforehand and the bar was busy. I opted for wine, which was good. The acoustics here aren't great, which i noticed during the meeting and during the event. The band was fun to listen to, but i could hardly hear anyone i was speaking to. But that's really my only complaint since it's a great space!

Ordering was easy on their digital tablet. they had tables both inside and outside, and since the air-conditioning was cranked, we decided to eat outside. It was so nice that their staff delivered the food to our table. I got their Elechik'n sandwich and fries, while my daughter chose the Thai Sweet Chili Grain Bowl and an Oreo shake. Overall, everything tasted great, except I felt their sandwich was a bit salty. This isn't fine dining by any means, it's more of a vegan fast food restaurant. I love that they had various vegan and animal rights magazines on the counter for patrons to read. Also, the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. We learned that this location recently got a soft serve ice cream machine and they can make sundaes. We'll have to try that another time!
