Picked up an Original Rainbow Cone and a Buona Beef to celebrate my birthday month. I have brought my son and young neighbors here in the past during the summer. All had a great time! This business is family friendly and inviting. Parking Private parking lot with plenty of spaces. Seating Comfortable booths and outdoor seating. Drive thru for Buona beef. Staff is very friendly sbd I csn tell tgey work as a team. Ordered my beef to go and waited on side couch for my order. The staff member brought order to me and even asked if I wanted anything additional. Thank you staff for all that you do. I appreciate it.

05/27/23 - Today was was here twice for National Beef Day. Buona beef provided thousands of beef sandwiches. I came in the afternoon & got a beef w/hot peppers. The peppers were combined w/carrots, cauliflower, & celery. The flavoring was excellent w/a very strong infusion of garlic. This beef sandwich was excellent as I'm a huge garlic fan of garlic - 5 Stars I came back later w/my wife that evening so she could get her beef sandwich. Sadly she got a plain beef w/sweet peppers. I'm not sure if the garlicky flavor came from the hot peppers but this sandwich was sadly lacking. There was no garlic flavor on her sandwich & while tasty was lacking. This beef was very average 3 stars. Since I had a beef earlier I ordered a protein bowl. The picture of the meal looked good w/sliced avocado & chicken slices over a SOGGY bed of spinach w/cherry tomatoes, diced red pepper & melted cheese. I'm not really sure what the hell it was but I would NEVER order that again. It was terrible - 1 Star for a soggy in tasty Protein Bowl. Kudos to Buona Beef for a very generous promotion on National Beef Day. They gave away thousands of beef sandwiches at all of their locations 5 STARS, but unfortunately the balance of what we ordered only came up as 3 stars Excellent beef garlicky w/spicy peppers (5 Stars) Mediocre beef w/sweet pepper lacking the garlic flavor (3 Stars Protein Bowl was just downright disgusting (1 Star). I will never order that again. THANK YOU BUONA BEEF FOR YOUR VERY GENEROUS BEEF GIVE AWAY ON 05/27/23 TO THE CHICAGOLAND BEEF COMMUNITY

I got the beef bites and they were okay, I do wish there was more meat inside, next time I'd probably get a sandwich. My husband and I were pleasantly surprised that there was a vegetarian sandwich option of a "beef sandwich" made with seitan. A rainbow cone at the end of our meal was the perfect treat!

Pleasantly surprised by how well this establishment runs. Food is great, and staff are so friendly! I loved their giardiniera pizza, loved how the cheese was toasted so well, who would've thought that this combo worked so well! Their pumpkin spice latte shake was also soo good, not overpowering or artificial tasting at all. Thick and creamy, lightly fragrant. The rainbow cone was not only pretty but the flavor adjacents were stacked very well. The price are actually all so very reasonable for the quantity and quality it provides. I'd definitely come back to try their cheesy Italian beef and other icecream flavors like blue sky and s'more!

Love their app! Easy to order while just heading out of the house and order is ready right when I pull up. I had the classic 7" buona which is plenty for me with a side of fries. The beef is nicely seasoned and the fries are perfecto being thick cut and crunchy. Personally I don't really like my beef bread wet, it does get a bit soggy if you let us sit. I know some folks that like the brad drenched like through weatherman hurricane rain type wet, not sure hot it eat that - do I need a fork and knife? I'm not looking to beat the food eating champions here! If I had a side of au - jus to just dip at my leisure I'd much prefer that. It's neat that Rainbow cone was opened in the same building - they had a great promo last summer and I guess it made business sense, well customers will definitely be happy especially bon a hot summer day!

Came three days too early - darn

I really like coming here, the restaurant is brand new and there isn't a crowded parking lot or two lanes for a drive thru that you'll see elsewhere. The restaurant itself is very airy and the tables and general seating allows you to spread out. There are a few tables for outdoor dining too. What's good to eat here? Of course the big beefs, but the avocado and strawberry with chicken salad was mind blowing. So was their BBQ chicken pizza - it had both some sweetness from the sauce and tartness from the tomatoes. The crust was crunchy and soft. I love their pastas and accompanying sauce - get meatballs added to it, if you can. I would like to try their eggs with pepper sandwich next, Overall, think I've found my favorite beef spot.

New (or new-ish, by this point--I think they opened a few months into the pandemic) location in Skokie on Touhy. I hadn't been here until a couple of months ago, and it may have been the first time I'd been to a restaurant since the pandemic began, and to date it's the first time since the pandemic began that I've been through a drive through. Nice large restaurant, plenty of indoor seating and, for my purposes, lots of pull-up spots to wait. Good food, as is the norm at any Buona. It is nice to have one much closer than the Harwood Heights or Des Plaines locations in the event I'm ever craving Buona. I'm sure I'll be back.

We were craving for some Chicago style hot dogs and Italian beef so decided to try new Buona that opened up less than a year ago. The menu was very promising and very similar to its Chicago rivalry restaurant. We got many things that we would typically get. The chopped salad, Italian beef, and hot dogs. The hot dogs was a true Chicago style. I didn't like the Italian beef though. It was way too salty for my taste. The chopped salad was ok. Overall, it was just an a-ok meal.

Some leeway is required. Damn Google search. I asked for submarine sandwiches suggestions on my homeward travel and this popped. Ordered their namesake Cultura sub, a chicken shawarma and they also offer a Persian menu, so lamb stew. $12.95 sounded too interesting but I didn't notice you must also buy rice separately ('because how can you eat stew without rice! She said' ) additional $5.95 for dill. Honestly, $17.95, yes, this sounds more like the correct price point for a small lamb leg. The dill rice was real. The lamb leg comes in a tomato based stew with beans. I wasn't impressed with the leg, quite bland but the rice could have acted as a carrier for any other stew side or with a topping of shawarma, just as nice. The sandwich was mid. Bread dense. I might be missing something. I wonder now whether the breads are also Persian. Perhaps barbari or a thicker taftoon. If you enjoy Persian it could slap? Personally not impressed especially given the out of pocket around $50. Lack of details on menu items with additional pricing is somewhat aggravating. One and done. At the time of order, a young woman was having tea service. I am not sure whether that is offered to everyone or a specialty enjoyed by the owner with their staff & friends.

I haven't been to the location but have had these bagels consistently for over 10 years. The texture and flavor of the bagel is everything a NY bagel is and should be. If you're expecting this to be interchangeable with the franchised bagel places that have spread…read moreacross the country, recalibrate now. This is not that. I've been going to New York Bagel & Bialy for over 50 years, and places like this operate on a different clock, a different standard, and frankly, a different philosophy of what a bagel is supposed to be. Timing matters. If you show up after about 8:00 AM, your odds of getting bagels at their absolute peak--still warm, properly textured, with that slight resistance on the outside and softness inside--go up significantly. Earlier can be hit or miss depending on the batch cycle, but once they're in stride, this place delivers. The essentials are all here and worth your time: poppy seed, sesame, everything, and especially the bialys. The bialys alone are reason enough to make the trip--properly done, with the right chew and depth of flavor that you simply won't find in mass-produced versions. Don't overcomplicate it. Grab a dozen. On your way home, stop and pick up a couple packages of Philadelphia Cream Cheese and some smoked salmon a jar of capers, a Bermuda onion--whether here or even from Walmart--and you've got a meal that outperforms most brunch menus at a fraction of the cost. This isn't trendy. It's not trying to be. It's something better: consistent, old-world, and still doing it the right way. If you're going to call something a bagel, the standard is not branding--it's process. That's why New York Bagel & Bialy on Touhy stands apart. They actually do it right: kettle-boiled first, then baked in rotating ovens. That single decision--boiling--changes the entire structure. It gelatinizes the outer starch layer, locks in density, and produces that thin, glossy crust with real chew. Without it, you don't have a bagel--you have bread with a hole. The rotating ovens matter too. They deliver even heat, which means you get the correct balance: a slight exterior crisp with a dense, elastic interior. No puffiness. No sponge. No collapse under toppings. That's the difference here. Most chains optimize for speed and shelf life, so they steam or shortcut the process. Many local shops land in the middle. This place doesn't compromise. If you care about what a bagel is supposed to be--not just what it's called--this is the benchmark in Chicago.
