This is a small Filipino restaurant that serves some delicious Filipino food! You order at the counter then grab the food when it's ready. Due to the size of this platter we got, it definitely took a bit of time but the wait was worth it. The grilled pork belly was my favorite part. It was delicious and the sauces they used to marinate the meats were sweet and made you want to keep eating. There were outdoor dining areas as well. Great place with great food!

Wow, this is an updated review. It is because this is following two weeks of eating there twice and eating in the actual restaurant. Prior to this I had only done takeout or carryout. So this is located in strip mall and there is ample parking even though it is shared. I did come on a weeknight for dinner with some out-of-town friends and luckily there was no wait and no line. This was their first time here, and they absolutely love the food, and it also helps that they are born and raised in the Philippines Second time was for a random Saturday afternoon lunch and there were definitely people here already eating however luckily there were still a couple tables left over for our group. Again, it was great to order here and eat here. The staff is always super friendly, even though I haven't consistently seen someone working here. This is definitely a go to spot with authentic food. And something that stands out is their lumpia Shanghai has better flavor than the one at seafood city and has a lot more pork.

My husband and I decided to stop in for lunch on a Sunday, we've wanted to try this place for a while and finally did. Both of us wanted the full experience so we ordered the biggest platter which contained, Bangus sisig, grilled and marinated pork belly, chicken and pork skewers, lumpia, rice and pancit. Everything was delicious and it felt good eating with our hands. For dessert, we enjoyed two halo halos because it was a perfect ending to a great Filipino feast!

Pork BBQ Combo

I love that the combos come with rice and pancit when you order your meat. I got the adobo chicken which was flavorful but I honestly liked my husband's bbq pork more! I'd definitely get that next time. Service is friendly but will say that it takes a while to get your food. They do get a lot of large families coming in though so just be prepared to wait. Overall, still good from when I came here 3 years ago!

Really good Philippine street food. They were very accommodating with our bigger group of 6 people and let us move some tables together. It was a little cold right by the door, but it is casual enough where we felt totally fine going out to the car and getting a lap blankie. Lol- yes I keep one in the trunk! Ordered a little of everything. Egg rolls were great and I loved the tamarind soup. My favorite were the chicken skewers.

Dessert was excellent.

Tried this place during restaurant week. It's pretty small and basic, with about 6 tables inside and outside seating available. You order at the register or you can get served at your table. We chose to order at the register, and they gave us a buzzer when the food was ready. The restaurant week menu was $19, and it came with soup, pork or chicken Skewers, a couple mounds of rice, noodles, and 5 egg rolls. Dessert was also included which was a banana roll and Ube ice cream. The food was really good. The quantity was just right, although I could have gone for a few more egg rolls, and maybe a third pork on a stick. The staff were very polite and helpful, and although all the tables were full, it was still quiet in the restaurant. I got a pitcher of water for the three of us, which was complementary. You can get cans of soda as well. Small bathrooms, but very clean. Overall, I liked the place a lot, and if I'm ever in the neighborhood again, I shall return.

Came here with a group of 6 for the boodle fight. My friend highly recommends this place. The food was not warm and I like my food to be served hot. The set up was beautiful but lacked some seasoning. I've had Filipino food before and this was just ok to me. This place is about a hour away from me so I definitely can find something closer . The halo halo was terrible (not sweet at all) . Service was good . Overall it was an ok experience but I don't need to drive one hour for it.

Last time I was in town I ate here with my parents but my sister was not able to try it so naturally this visit I came back with her. Ordered pretty much the same foods only a little less since there was not as many in our party this time. Everything was delicious as usual and my sister loved it too. Again the staff were friendly and welcoming making it feel like you're eating at a relatives place instead of a restaurant. That kind of service really makes it cozy and comforting. Needless to say - we'll all be back again and again!

We came here for some Filipino food. My nephew was craving authentic Filipino Food and we found this place. Drove 1 hour it! So worth it!! The food is delicious, the presentation is amazing. Worth it. Service is also really good. There is plenty of parking and if when the weather is actually nice, they have an outdoor tables. We killed the food. We are not local but highly recommend this locally owed Filipino restaurant.

Our party of 16 had a great time tonight at the boodle fight. The boodle fight was being set up just as we got there and was ready by our reservation time. The food was nostalgic of Filipino family parties and was plenty for our group. I liked the selection much more than another boodle fight I had attended in the city. I worked with Chris in both reserving and the event tonight. He made it very easy as we corresponded by email and then final confirmation by phone. I would be back again!

I was pleasantly surprised to find Pinoy Grill food truck at Lynfred Winery tonight. We tried the #1 combo platter with rice, pancit, BBQ sticks and lumpia. The BBQ sticks were tender and full of flavor and sauce that tastes good with the rice. The plate was enough for us to share. As someone else shared in a review, the pancit lacked flavor but was cooked well. I don't like overcooked noodles and these were just right. I loved the energy and gratitude of the server at the window. I look forward to finding them again and trying other combos. The crispy siopao looks so good too.

Cozy little place to eat BUT it gives it that warm welcoming family feel. And that's how you're treated each second you spend there. I first discovered this place from their food truck when they stopped at the VA and the food from the truck and here are both masarap! Presentation for everything all great and delicious. I love that they serve foods in huge family portions and the desserts all amazing

Scheduling a boodle fight (kamayan) meal is usually easy and they accommodate large groups for this very reason. The food is delicious and once the food is on your table, it's more self-service. Options are plentiful and can't wait to go back for more kamayans. Maraming salamat for all the good food.

It's small, but clean. They offer carry-out dishes along with some grab-and-go items. I ordered the lechon (pork) combo. It was almost twenty bucks with water and a tip for the good service. Not cheap, but considering what you get, it's worth it. Pork perfectly cooked. I tasted one of the sauces, and my lips puckered. Maybe the most tart thing I ever tasted. But then I dipped the pork into both sauces. OMG! That's orgasmic. My mouth still waters just thinking about how good that is. Bonus: the pork skin is almost like candied bacon. I've been back several times, and I'll keep going, too. As much as I want to try other items on the menu, the lechon is just too freaking good, and I keep ordering it.

I also ordered their lechon belly and that wqs really good although some parts of the skin wqsnt as crunchy. I would still go back and try more stuff. Happy eating!!!

Wow. I found myself…read morein Arlington Heights, and my buddy suggested this place due to an upcoming trip to Japan in 2027. It's a Japanese market that features an amazing food court (and this is where I spent all my time.) I don't recall the name of the stall I purchased from. But I can tell you it was quick, not expensive and very filling. I had a bowl with beef and noodles; for dessert I hit the matcha dessert stall for some matcha and vanilla ice cream. The whole place meal me feel like I was dining outside the state of Illinois. The service from everyone in the market was very friendly and they even had a sake/soju tasting by the front door (and the vendors allowed you try was much as you wanted.) I highly recommend this spot

If you love Japanese culture, food, and want to visit a neat place and kind of feel like you are…read morevisiting Japan, you need to visit Mitsuwa! Not only is there a food court of different Japanese restaurants to try, there is also a grocery store, bakery, bookstore, and stores that sell ice cream, traditional desserts, as well as crepes and boba tea! My family and I visit here often every year and we like to try the different foods and desserts and then check out the bookstore and grocery store afterwards. My favorite foods so far have been the beef udon soup with a soft boiled egg, shrimp and vegetable tempura, miso soup, and Japanese curry with rice, beef, and vegetables (carrots and potatoes). My son always gets the chicken and beef on a stick and my daughter usually gets a garlic pork dish with white rice but I forget what this dish is called. My husband also enjoys the beef udon soup like I do. I swear that whenever my food is finished, I am legit sad! The crepes are good, there is a variety of boba teas to try, and the ice creams are delicious! Lychee has been my favorite so far but I have yet to try the matcha, red bean, among others! You can get a small sample of different ice cream flavors too, which is nice! I sampled the red bean flavor so that will be my go-to next time! At the grocery store, I love buying Happy Turn snacks which are like a sweet and salty crunchy cracker (maybe it is made of rice?) that are individually wrapped and mochi from the fridge area. Finally, I usually like to buy mochi from the store right next to the bookstore. The mochi from this location is the best! I usually buy multiple flavors to take home and eat at a later time! You must try these! My kids love checking out the bookstore and they usually pick something out for me to buy for them - whether it is a book, keychain, etc. There are magazines, anime figurines, soft plushy toys, pens, and stationary, etc. It is interesting to browse through the things they have there! You cannot bring food or drinks inside but they do have a shelf at the entrance where you can place your drink there if you like. The first time visiting here, the majority of the customers were Asians and as the years have passed, there is now more of an influx of non-Asians who simply love the food and appreciate the culture, which I think is neat! The first time I visited here was with my college roommate who was from Japan and she recommended this place back in 2009 perhaps? I have been visiting ever since with my family. We travel more than an hour from Wisconsin to come here but it is 100% worth the drive! Also, the cashiers and workers there are quick, efficient, and friendly. I have even been able to practice a few of the Japanese phrases I have learned with a couple of the cashiers too (I asked if they spoke Japanese first)! Overall, Mitsuwa is my happy place! Great food, interesting finds, different culture, and everyone there looks excited to be there. This is as close to visiting Japan as I can get until I keep learning more Japanese and save up enough money to go visit Japan someday! This is my dream! In the meantime, we will keep visiting Mitsuwa!
