Did a large carryout order here for a dinner for a group. The order was easy to place and the food was delicious. The only downside was that the food was packed in their own trays but they didn't have disposable boxes to transport the food in but their own box which would have to return later. We ordered beef pad see ew, shrimp pad Thai, and basil dish for the trays of food. These were generous portions with the trays being filled to the brim and saran wrapped and covered. We also had entree sized orders of green curry, panang curry and chicken fried rice. The pricing too is pretty good in comparison to other Thai places in the area.

Coming to Jimmy's is like walking into Cheers Bar. Jimmy, May, and the staff know our name...and our food preferences. Tonight I was exhausted and couldn't get myself to make one more decision. Instead, I told Jimmy to surprise me. Six minutes later he brought out a piping hot plate of Pad Ped chicken, extra vegetables, no carrots, extra basil, medium spicy. It was just what I wanted on this cold December night. Hospitality this welcoming is unusual and why Jimmy's is our kitchen away from home.

Cool and casual place with very attentive staff. Green curry was tasty. I'd like a few more veggies in it, hence the 4. Steamed potstickers were delicious too. Might be back.

I have been coming here for years and I've never had a bad meal. Jimmy Thai is located in a mall with plenty of parking, however it does get very busy during lunch hour, I usually try to beat the lunch rush by coming in at 1PM. Inside there's plenty of spaces with a bar. You'll most likely be greeted by the owner with a friendly smile. You'll be given a complimentary bottled water which is so refreshing because some places give you smelly tap water. The food is a cross between Thai food and Japanese ramen. I usually alternate between the lunch special and the Ramen. The lunch specials are a great deal and the ramen is awesome on cold days. The Ramen is really good I always opt out for the spicy tonkotsu with pork. The broth is nice and thick and flavorful and the noodles and pork are great as well. This is a grat spot to dine in for some asian dishes and the service is second to none.

Another excellent meal at Jimmy Thai. This time had the pad thai and it was wonderful. Service here was very attentive and food came to the table quickly. Portion was very generous, which was perfect since I was really hungry having skipped lunch and had a minimal breakfast. Will be back now that I've tried one of their thai dishes after a nice bowl of ramen last time.

It had been awhile since we've had dinner here and once again, JT didn't disappoint! We waited a few minutes to be seated (the place was packed) and the server came out right away. The food came out piping hot and quickly too. The best Basil chicken I've had -- this has become my go to dish here. Along with tofu pad Thai and the Thai spring rolls, it was a delightful dinner. Solid service and prices make this a top Thai choice in the area.

I have been meaning to try Jimmy Thai for quite some time as I think it is one of the last restaurants in Deerfield that I haven't tried. But it has just never worked out for whatever reason. Perhaps since they are closed on Sundays and we often seem to go out for dinner on Sundays. I haven't had Thai food in a good while but I recall the last Thai food I had to be underwhelming with the food not being nearly as flavorful as I had hoped. Thankfully, that was not the case at Jimmy Thai. I ordered some Chicken Pad Thai and it was quite flavorful and very enjoyable. My wife ordered the Beef Pad See Ew and it was also very good. I had a bite of my daughter's Tofu Golden Noodles and liked that too. We were greeted quickly when we arrived. We were also given a few bottles of water right away which seemed a little strange to me but they were nice and cold so that worked for me. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. There was plenty of seating inside and plenty of parking outside. I can't really think of anything that we weren't pleased with. We enjoyed our dining experience and plan on coming back.

We have takeout orders from Jimmy Thai several times and are very pleased with the experiences. Most recently, we had Pad Thai with tofu, Pad See Ew with beef, and Thai Fried Rice with shrimp - all popular Thai favorites, and the restaurant did a great job in their preparations, with fresh ingredients and balanced flavors! The Pad Thai with tofu had a good balance of sweet, sour, and savory flavors. The noodles and tofu had a good texture, and everything tasted fresh! I appreciated the hearty, slightly smoky flavor and chewy wide noodles in their Pad See Ew with beef. However, the beef was slightly overcooked and could be a little more tender. The quality and texture of the shrimp in the Thai Fried Rice was excellent, everything was so fresh and tasty, the overall balance of ingredients was done perfectly! What was great was that our food was still hot after the 10-minute ride home! When I called the restaurant to ask a few questions before I placed the order, I believed it was Jimmy on the phone. Although he was very busy at the time, he was very patient and friendly in answering me. He also advised that the 10% discount and complimentary food promotion could not be mixed, you could pick either one of the two. Since we had already ordered a lot of food (portions are good), we went with the 10% discount. All we needed to do was to pick the "cash option", then went in the restaurant to pay with our credit card, and they adjusted the amount upon us showing them the discount on our phone. Everything went smoothly. They have a big extensive menu, and we would love to try their ramen and other Thai dishes next time as well! They are sure in our takeout rotation!

My family and I had been wanting to go to this location for a while and a recent weeknight presented a perfect opportunity to check out this establishment. Located in a small plaza in front of the Westin hotel, this Chicago Ramen is a nice little spot for grabbing a delicious bowl (or two) of ramen. Upon our arrival, we were seated promptly. Our friendly server provided the menus and shortly after was ready to take our order; however, we were not ready yet and took a bit longer to order. The menu was a condensed version of what I have seen at the Des Plaines location. There were six Ramen options, a handful of appetizers, extra toppings options, and beverage options. Also, there was a Ramen special menu and a Kids menu. A few minutes later, we placed our order of 1) Edamame, 1) Karage, 2) Shrimp Wonton Ramen, and 1) White Miso Ramen. The apps of Edamame and Karage came out soon and the ramen bowls followed shortly. The Karage were freshly cooked. The Karage were chunky, meaty and plump chicken nuggets. The meat was juicy and tender, and they were lightly battered. The flavor was decent and the texture was okay. I felt that a bit more frying would have helped it taste better. My Shrimp Wonton Ramen was the start dish for me. It was everything I wanted as far as the flavor of the broth and the texture of the noodles, shrimp, and wonton were concerned. The broth was hot and fresh. It had a nice savory flavor and I added some of the table side condiments for extra umami and spicy taste. The noodles were of the right texture where they had body and good slurp-a-bility factor without being soggy and sloppy. The White Miso Ramen was a nice creamy and rich broth that came loaded w/ cuts of pork that were tender. It was also delicious. I enjoyed my bowl of ramen a lot and managed to finish it instead of having leftovers. It hit the spot perfectly. We had a good experience and would go back. If you haven't been to this spot, then definitely check them out.

To clear things up about their dining area, they have 2 small tables outside and 1 small and 2 big tables inside. Small tables - 2 chairs. Big tables - 4 chairs. On weekdays, you don't need to make a reservation. On the weekends due to their limited dine in area, I would recommend a reservation to be safe. You can make a reservation through Google/Yelp or phone call. Parking is easy since it's in a strip mall. There is also a 3% charge if you use plastic. Just a note, I tried looking at their food pictures on their website, but it kind of runs slow. Sometimes it would freeze. I think they need to fix it. I would return here to try other items. I would highly recommend ordering off their Malaysian menu instead of the miscellaneous. Don't order orange chicken or General Tao's chicken. Very cringe because you can get that literally anywhere. Get the Malaysian food because it's hard to find in Illinois. The owner is very sweet and the service is attentive. We ordered lor bak, nasi lemak, Hainanese chicken rice, hokkien mee, and kuih talam. Just a FYI, the portions are very generous. For 2 people, I would recommend ordering 2 dishes. Prices are reasonable for what you get. A pot of tea is $6. -lor bak 5 - I highly recommend this appetizer. It has crispy pork sausage with shrimp fritters, beancurd, and cucumber. It comes with two sauces. Everything was delicious. -nasi lemak 5 - I love the chicken rendang. The meat is very tender and it has a deep flavor. You can taste the spices that went into it. -Hainanese chicken rice 3.5 - I gave Penang Malaysian Cuisine a 4 because the rice was delicious. HD's version, the rice was not as moist and flavorful. I liked the big pieces of shrimp, an adequate amount of sliced pork and hard boiled egg. The broth is still very good. If it's your first time having this, I still recommend it. -kuih talam 5 - I would suggest this if you like pandan. It's not sweet. It has a soft and bouncy texture.

Ordering was a breeze and the guys were always open to a conversation or giving suggestions. The restaurant was clean and the meal was always tasty. Just a note but the further away you move from any major city the fewer and harder it is to find great Asian food. The suburb is lucky to have them. The pandemic brought new staffing. Some were pleasant with customers though one lady, a supervisor had the wrong ideas of what customer service and proper etiquette is. Just the basics of my final visit. I took my family for lunch. We ordered lunch specials and a couple extra must-try plates. Two specials hit the table and the third was left waiting for her meal. Unbeknownst to us in the moment, her food was handed to a single patron there for his lunch. The place was filling up with a lunch rush but not so many that had complicated orders. Many were ordering similar lunch specials. Kung pao lunch special was popular. When her order finally arrived the supervisor realized she had given the wrong plate to the customer sitting some tables behind us. Mind you ten minutes had already passed. She quickly went over to him and asked what he had ordered. She then took the plate he was eating from and handed him the fresh plate. He was still holding a half eaten egg roll in his hand. Then she brought the quarter eaten plate and placed it in front of my mother. Before she could leave I stopped her and asked her what she was doing. She simply stated that was her lunch order. I told her she handed my mother someone else's food that they were eating and I watched the whole thing. Why didn't you take that to the back and make a completely new plate of food?! I paid the bill and got the F**k out. That's gross. Also, you gave the other patron new food but cannot do the same for our table?? This place is dead to me. If she could do that, it beckons the question of what else is happening behind the scenes.
