The food was fantastic here at Jimmy Thai! We got the panang curry since it was recommended, and it definitely did not disappoint. The curry was flavorful, packed with veggies and chicken, and paired so nicely with the fluffy white rice. We also got the pad woon sen, and it had a nice wok hei flavor; the noodles were bouncy and paired well with the hot sauce on the table as well. Lastly, we got the mango sticky rice for dessert, and they give you SO MANY MANGOES. The rice was sweet, and you had enough mangoes to pair it with every single bite of rice. The service was good; they always made sure to check in on us and even brought us extra plates to let us share our dishes. The only con I have is that I asked for potatoes in my curry, but I didn't know it'd be a dollar extra. It's not a big deal, but I'd love to know when I ask. The ambiance was very Thai themed, and they had a lot of awards for their restaurant. It also caught my eye that they won a food bracket tournament with other restaurants I have heard of as well. Based on the owners response. I went and asked for a more authentic recipe. What I got in return was overly salty and sauced pad Thai. It was just a slop of mess. When I asked for a more authentic recipe I wasn't expecting them to just add more sauce. Just completely lazy imo. If you're looking for a bleached version of Thai food. This place is it. We used to frequent here and were avid carry-out orders during Covid. I think it's time for some help. Two tables near us sent their food back, and one table left without paying. It stunk like cigarette smoke. When Jimmy asked me how our food was I didn't have it in me to say anything. Our ramen was cold, the meat was overcooked and the spring rolls had zero flavor. Did a large carryout order here for a dinner for a group. The order was easy to place and the food was delicious. The only downside was that the food was packed in their own trays but they didn't have disposable boxes to transport the food in but their own box which would have to return later. We ordered beef pad see ew, shrimp pad Thai, and basil dish for the trays of food. These were generous portions with the trays being filled to the brim and saran wrapped and covered. Average Thai food for a fair price. Online ordering was smooth and efficient with no added fees for using online ordering or paying with a credit card. This is good to see. The restaurant was busy on a weeknight around 7 and the energy inside was pleasant. They had a man working the front greeting guests and managing take out orders. He was very nice and attentive. The food was ready quickly and came out packaged perfectly. They didn't have the traditional Thai chili sauce when I asked but instead gave me a sriracha sauce in a packet which was just ok. The food was average overall. Pad Thai: it was a pinkish color, rather than brown, which I have seen before from some restaurants. I was fearful that it would be overly sweet when seeing it and it was definitely sweet, not savory like I prefer. The quality of the ingredients was good but the seasoning was western and not eastern. I don't like this type of pad Thai and don't recommend unless you like sweet entrees. Pad Woon Sen was better than the Pad Thai. It wasn't overly flavorful but consistent and not sweet. The chicken was cooked perfectly. They didn't include enough vegetables but again, not bad. Both dishes were good serving size 1-2 meals worth each depending on how hungry you are. Prices were slightly higher than other Thai places in the area (over $30 for the two) but not outrageous. I will probably try a few other dishes in the future but not in a hurry to go back. I'm glad to see they're doing good business and hope they continue to do well! read more

Started going here is 2020. They not only had and have great food, but they made life easy with curb side. They still have curb side if you like. They get the food out fast and hot. I have been coming here for years and I've never had a bad meal. Jimmy Thai is located in a mall with plenty of parking, however it does get very busy during lunch hour, I usually try to beat the lunch rush by coming in at 1PM. Inside there's plenty of spaces with a bar. You'll most likely be greeted by the owner with a friendly smile. You'll be given a complimentary bottled water which is so refreshing because some places give you smelly tap water. The food is a cross between Thai food and Japanese ramen. I usually alternate between the lunch special and the Ramen. The lunch specials are a great deal and the ramen is awesome on cold days. The Ramen is really good I always opt out for the spicy tonkotsu with pork. The broth is nice and thick and flavorful and the noodles and pork are great as well. This is a grat spot to dine in for some asian dishes and the service is second to none. read more

We've been going to Jimmy Thai for years and it's one of our family's favorite spots. Our kids (10 and 12) regularly request it when we go out to eat. The ramen is always a huge hit, whether dining in or ordering takeout and the fried rice is excellent too. The servers are consistently friendly and welcoming, and it's always nice seeing Jimmy himself bopping around the restaurant checking on patrons. I have been meaning to try Jimmy Thai for quite some time as I think it is one of the last restaurants in Deerfield that I haven't tried. But it has just never worked out for whatever reason. Perhaps since they are closed on Sundays and we often seem to go out for dinner on Sundays. I haven't had Thai food in a good while but I recall the last Thai food I had to be underwhelming with the food not being nearly as flavorful as I had hoped. Thankfully, that was not the case at Jimmy Thai. I ordered some Chicken Pad Thai and it was quite flavorful and very enjoyable. My wife ordered the Beef Pad See Ew and it was also very good. I had a bite of my daughter's Tofu Golden Noodles and liked that too. We were greeted quickly when we arrived. We were also given a few bottles of water right away which seemed a little strange to me but they were nice and cold so that worked for me. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. There was plenty of seating inside and plenty of parking outside. I can't really think of anything that we weren't pleased with. We enjoyed our dining experience and plan on coming back. read more

We have takeout orders from Jimmy Thai several times and are very pleased with the experiences. Most recently, we had Pad Thai with tofu, Pad See Ew with beef, and Thai Fried Rice with shrimp - all popular Thai favorites, and the restaurant did a great job in their preparations, with fresh ingredients and balanced flavors! The Pad Thai with tofu had a good balance of sweet, sour, and savory flavors. The noodles and tofu had a good texture, and everything tasted fresh! I appreciated the hearty, slightly smoky flavor and chewy wide noodles in their Pad See Ew with beef. However, the beef was slightly overcooked and could be a little more tender. The quality and texture of the shrimp in the Thai Fried Rice was excellent, everything was so fresh and tasty, the overall balance of ingredients was done perfectly! What was great was that our food was still hot after the 10-minute ride home! When I called the restaurant to ask a few questions before I placed the order, I believed it was Jimmy on the phone. Although he was very busy at the time, he was very patient and friendly in answering me. He also advised that the 10% discount and complimentary food promotion could not be mixed, you could pick either one of the two. Since we had already ordered a lot of food (portions are good), we went with the 10% discount. All we needed to do was to pick the "cash option", then went in the restaurant to pay with our credit card, and they adjusted the amount upon us showing them the discount on our phone. This spot is nestled in a large plaza with a huge parking lot that's somehow always packed with cars, probably due to the DMV being in the same plaza. These are crispy, filled with chicken and served with a delicious dipping sauce. - Ramen with tonkotsu broth and pork chashu slices. I changed it up ever so slightly by ordering it "skinny" which is less noodles and more veggies. This is also topped with a perfectly done 1/2 egg. What elevates this ramen is the delicious flavorful broth. It's rich and (not too) salty and perfect with the ramen, bok choy and tender pork. Perfect meal for a chilly fall evening that warms you up from the inside. Ordered Jimmy Thai for dinner tonight and was really impressed. We ordered the green curry, Pad Khee Mao and Pad Thai for mains and ordered crab Rangoon as an app. Since we hit a certain order total, they included potstickers as well! All the food was tasty and met the spice request we had put in. The owner, Jimmy was super friendly when I came in to pick up my food and was thanked us for supporting his business. Looked like they were really busy for dine in as well, but he was still taking time to ask people how everything was and thanking them on their way out. The quality at Jimmy Thai is off the charts. Perfect balance of seasoning and heat! And the veggies were perfectly cooked! That is hard to find at some places. The service was unlike any place I have been. The waitress checked in often and was accommodating as my friend took some time to arrive. And the owner even came out to greet my friend who he knew. After hearing high praise we had guarded optimism this place would hit the spot..... very kind owner but the food was nothing special. Although Thai places aren't known for egg rolls these were a 1 or 2.... Filo dough type crust and vegetable mush inside. I didn't take off for this. The pot stickers were awful- little meat ball inside an oversized slimy dough pocket. Seemed like sat for a while.... Pad Thai had great flavor and lots of chicken but it was dry. Had to add panang sauce to spice it up. And the Kang Panang had great flavor but almost no chicken! Lots of broccoli and green peppers but not enough meat. The flavor was nice though. Not sure what the big attraction is here so we'll keep hunting and will not return. read more

Visiting my corporate headquarters in Deerfield and found this little hole on the wall Thai restaurant. Had good reviews. Was meeting a colleague for a beer and apps. First of all they only serve beer and wine. Really is a hole in the wall kinda place. Ordered a Sapporo and this ice tea. I know I like the caffeine and alcohol to mix in my system. Ordered the potstickers, chicken satay and shrimp shumai. The satay and potstickers were great. The shrimp shumai seems a bit too fishy. And looked like there were frozen. If Jimmy Thai ever leaves Deerfield I really don't know what I'll do! This place is so reliably good every time. The staples like Pad Thai and Crab Rangoon are just so good, but I try to be adventurous and try new stuff all the time. Never had a bad dish. I eat a lot of tofu as my protein and they do a great job with making the tofu the perfect texture. My favorite is probably the Pad Siew with tofu.
