If you want authentic Thai food, this is the place to go. It is owned by husband and wife couple who quite frankly I think our well over 60 or 70 years old. I walked in here on a random weekday to order lunch and the very nice old lady took my order and I asked her if she was the owner she is her husband is the cook and you can see him there too This is not really a sitdown place. It is definitely a carryout. And that's OK. It is however located in a very dilapidated strip mall. And so you definitely don't expect to find it here. Whoever the Landlord is of this dilapidated strip mall if you're reading this, shame on you. This place though is a true diamond in the rough and gem. I'm definitely coming back here. I only ordered the pad Thai lunch special which came with a bottle of water and it came with a side of small appetizers that included two dumplings a spring roll and a crab Rangoon. Great mom and pop shop for local suburban Thai food. It is located in a popular strip mall, so parking was tough on a Saturday night. The restaurant itself does have seating if you want eat there, but it seems more of a carry out type of place. They don't have any ordering online so you have to pick up the phone and call (gasp) in your order. We for a variety of dishes but wow their red curry duck was amazing!!! I had to stop myself from eating the entire thing. They don't give you a lot of rice for carry out, so if you're one who loves rice and sauce you night need to ask for extra. They did toss in some extra dumplings for free which was a really nice surprise. We will definitely call in an order again when in the mood for Thai! Amazing food! I don't live anywhere near this place, but wanted to try something new, and am so glad I did. It's a very small establishment, and seems easily overwhelmed, as was the case when I placed.my order (by phone only) around 5pm on a Sunday night. They were out of spring rolls but had the deep fried tofu and ended up including peanut sauce and the sweet sauce. Also ordered green curry with tofu and the spicy chicken basil dish. The gentleman let me know that it would probably take at least 45 minutes for pickup, which was fine. The "eat-in" area is pretty much a waiting area. Everything was absolutely delicious and spot on, truly fresh and made to order. I will happily coordinate pickup orders from here in the future when I'm nearby. read more

We ordered 4 different dishes to try from Krua Thai. Its been years since we last ordered from here. Last time we ordered the lard nar which is what I like from a Thai place however after being reminded of a picture of this dish here we opted for some other items. This time we ordered the: Pad kee mow chicken Pad see ew beef  Green curry chicken Mussaman curry chicken All the dishes were good. The noodle ones were a little on the sweeter side. And even though we ordered the dishes mild the green curry and musaaman still had some spice to it. Overall a good tasty meal from Krua Thai. read more

Ok, yes I had Krua Thai 2 days in a row lol This time I had the extra crispy Pad Lad Nar with vegetables. I asked the manager to separate the sauce from the noodles so they could still be crispy and he said that he couldn't do it because they come together. He and the chef were really great though because they placed the crispy noodles on top of the sauce :) It was good! The noodles were very crispy and made well, the sauce was light in flavor and had the perfect savory flavor, and the vegetables were all crisp and not over cooked. Best Thai food around. We ordered pad Thai in mild, medium, and hot. Each person was happy with their level of spiciness and the flavor was great. Their chicken wings were also OUTSTANDING. I went there specifically for a Tom Yum that I very much needed that day due to a cold weather. And unfortunately it did not tested as I expected. It had imitation meat crab (what?) and the flavors were just a little off. My friend asked for some hot sauce and he didn't get it until we were leaving, instead the guy was talking to his other customers at the table next to us. Maybe it is a good place for a take-out and they are just not use to dine-in people, but this place definitely has some potential to be a little better. read more

I ordered my usual pad Kee Mao (drunken noodles) lunch special. For being a lunch special, its definitely over priced. It's 7.95 which is already on the high side plus 2.50 if you want beef. The food was so so, felt like it lacked flavor and the whole entree tasted somewhat sour. The lunch special did come with a bottled water and an appetizer of the day. As far as the customer service, it was pretty much the owner running the whole show. It is very tiny in there, so if you're planning on eating in for lunch, you might not have a place to sit. He owner was very attentive and you can tell he really does care about his customers. I'll probably try and find a less expensive Thai place for lunch before I return here. read more

Pretty good food and vegan options. We decided to order our carry out in the restaurant, because the vegan options weren't easily expressed in the web ordering. Would really prefer some easy way to select the vegan options in the web ordering menus. Ordering in the restaurant really slowed things down. But the very helpful lady explained to me that almost any dished (not just those that are listed in vegetable section of menu) can be made with tofu and made vegan. This review is more of a 3.5 star review. After reading all the great reviews on Yelp I wanted to give this place a try and finally the opportunity came last evening. Ordered a couple orders of the crab rangoon, an order of the fried pot stickers and an order of the pad thai. The crab rangoon, as a lot of other people mention on Yelp, is the best crab rangoon I have ever had. It's perfectly cooked. I did not however enjoy the pot stickers. Upon opening the pad thai container, I could smell a certain spice that I couldn't put my finger on. This spice was a little overwhelming in flavor and took over the entire dish. I personally did not enjoy that spice but the chicken was of high quality and not chewy or rubbery at all. read more

Strip Malls frequently have THE BEST "hidden gem" restaurants. Krua Thai is in such a strip mall. This place should be PACKED, like ALL OF TIME. But it's not. Parking is kinda crappy, especially on weekend nights when the neighboring Mesa Urbana is open. But for some solid Thai Food at reasonable prices, check out Krua Thai. The ingredients are fresh and the expertly prepared. The Chicken Noodle Soup is outstanding. It's spicy and the noodles are the perfect texture. I also love the pot stickers and the Panang curry with chicken is excellent too. It's not fancy. I wouldn't recommend dining in. But I highly recommend phoning ahead and carry out. Krua Thai - reliable Thai takeaway, with friendly mom and pop owners who take pride in their food. I asked the owner what he recommends and he brought up all the curries they do along with the basil chicken. Good, because that is what I measure when I crave my Thai food. I always like green curry chicken as it has good texture, balance between spice and richness of coconut milk. The portion size was enough for three meals for myself normally (just need to add more rice). The lard nar (flat noodles in sweet sauce) was a tad too sweet for my taste, but came with crispy rice noodles which is different than some other places (I like it!) Krua Thai offers good value for Thai food in the area and I will have to try their other curries next time. Allow 20mins from phone call to pick up. read more
