I absolutely loved eating here. One of my favorite teas is Jasmine tea. This particular Saturday was freezing and straight away I asked if they had it for my friend and I to warm us up. Not may restaurants serve Jasmine tea. It was such a treat that they had it! Delicious. For appetizers we had the Vietnamese spring rolls and the pork belly. Outstanding. Everyone you just have to eat here it's so good. The pork was crispy on the outside, perfectly seasoned, and chewy on the inside. Juicy too. It was so good. I wish they had just brought out a small bowl of it. The spring rolls were generously stuffed and the peanut sauce it came with was on point and only enhanced by the table hoisin sauce. I would eat here daily if I could. Anyone who lives in this area is so spoiled to have this down the street. For the Pho, I had the meat combo so I got a little bit of everything. My only feedback would be that the veggies that come with the soup are sparse and I wish more Thai basil came on the plate. They loaded up on the bean sprouts though and that was awesome. Really I am being picky and everything here is top notch. The place is smaller so I'd recommend visiting on off-peak hours so you can spread out and relax with some tea. I really enjoyed myself here. Unfortunately our normal Vietnamese Restaurant was closed today, we made the choice to venture out to a new one. We ordered two Banh Mi sandwiches (extra pickled vegetables, and no cilantro). Easy enough. We received two sandwiches, that had shreds of pickled carrots and the skin off a cucumber. The sandwiches were soggy, not sure why since there really wasn't any pickled vegetables. I do have to say that the coconut shrimp was good, that is why we gave it 1 star. I was so hoping this was going to be a great place to get a Banh Mi sandwich in Glenview. I got takeout from this place with friends, and we all enjoyed our food. The prices are reasonable, and the dishes were fresh and flavorful. I love Bun Cha Ha Noi, and it came with grilled pork belly, pork patties, an egg roll, fish sauce, some veggies and noodles. This was tasty and fresh, though the pork belly was very difficult to get off the skewer. I also tried the spring roll, which was delicious as well with the peanut sauce. LongAn has some legit pho. Crab Rangoon and spring roll appetizers were on point. I liked the peanut sauce that came with the spring rolls. For the main attraction, I got the chicken pho. The broth was pretty good. The pho noodles I wish were a little thicker, but it was still good overall. The amount of sprouts that came with the pho was plenty. Overall dining experience was a great. Service was OK, but overall good. Food came fast, but near the end, things slowed down, as we waited over 10-minutes after we were done, and ended up just going to the front for the bill/payment. Not sure if they usually expect the customer to go and pay upfront, as we did see the neighboring table get their bill. We spent over $50 and they informed us we can get a free drink. My son ordered the mango smoothies and he said it was really good. Ambiance of this place was good. Dining area I would categorize as small. There were a few tables, and if eyeballed it, probably can sit around 20 people. When we got there, we were able to get a seat right away. Recently Coming back from my home country Vietnam, Long An is highly reminiscent of the food I had; especially their bun cha noodles.. from the savory grilled nem patty and fried eggrolls, nuoc mam perfecty adjusted for taste, the herbs and noodles.. all combined together to satisfy the palate with a rich flavorful experience. They really nailed down the dish just like Vietnam. The authenticity in the food is what keeps me coming back every time I go to Chicago.. I would drive a 45 minutes from downtown just for this place. The owners of the restraunt (Brad and Lily) are lovely people! Their hospitality shines after my visits: they will take care of you and make you feel welcomed as if you are in someone's home. The ambiance makes me feel at ease! They were plain, kinda basic, although nicely crisp. I had the Bun Cha Hai Noi which came out on a tray and my friend and I could have shared. The traditional bun dish was good--the pork skewers were the more flavorful option vs the patties and the spring roll that came with the dish was also tasty. Yum yum! Came here for the first time with my bestie. We are pho hounds so trying a new place is something not unusual to us. We came in around lunch time and it wasn't very packed which was nice. **Beware, the signage for the restaurant is a bit smaller than everything else around it so it was a little daunting to find but the lady we talked to when we called was super sweet and she helped us find it.** The interior was brightly lit, tables were clean and they had hand sanitizer at every table which was nice to see. Customer service is prompt and efficient. We ordered: veggie bao, pho with eye round steak and beef shank, veggie pho with plant based meat balls and tofu, rose milk tea and brown sugar milk tea with boba. The veggie baos were a bit smaller than expected but tender and fresh ingredients. The veggies added a nice crunch and added some needed texture to the bao. My friend said her veggie pho was tasty. I have to agree with her regarding my eye round steak and beef steak pho. It was also tasty and the broth was good. I do wish they added a bit more meat because I got a lot of noodles, a tasty broth but not a lot of meat which was disappointing. So the beef to noodle and broth ratio was a little....off. My friend enjoyed her brown sugar boba saying that it wasn't too sweet or too bland, nice mixture of both. I thought my boba was good but I wasn't too crazy about the actual pearls, too chewy for my liking. I also got a grilled pork belly banh mi to go and my bf said it was good. Inside was nice, super clean and modern. I love the decor. After sitting here and looking at the menu I was surprised on how affordable it was. We ordered pho (forgot to picture) and spring rolls and bun cha noodles. Food came out and it looked pretty good! After taking the first bite. I was shocked. Presentation was good but why was the flavor NOT THERE. It didn't have that umami rich broth that I'm so used to. Being from California I should have known better, but I was craving pho and wanted to try this place. The pho needs some fish sauce or some more bone stock/ beef stock. It just was not hitting the spot. I'm so sad. I will say the coffee I got was good and the spring rolls I love how chewy and the texture of the rolls were. Those were super good to me! The spring rolls were of thick rice noodles, the sauce was not bad, it's not too sour or sweet. The vegan roll was a bit weird, not sure if I'm a fan of the vegan beef slices, it doesn't have much taste. The vegan pho broth was a bit flat in flavor compared to what a pho broth would taste like. There were vegan meat balls and fish balls, but all of them taste a bit artificial, not bad but not great either. Not much flavor overall. The toppings were fresh. Oreo taro was pretty good, but does taste like from powdered milktea base. We ordered the #1 Bun Cha Ha Noi (Traditional Grilled Pork Dish) (Grilled pork belly, pork patties, an egg roll and homemade fish sauce) and the #3 Bun Nem Nuong (Pork Sausage Noodle Salad) (Vietnamese pork sausage, 1 pork eggroll, 1 shrimp eggroll). The food was amazing. It was fresh, crisp, and full of flavor. There are a lot of Asian restaurants in this shopping center, so you have to be good to survive. A small but great place to enjoy a VIetnamese meal, the food here was fresh and plentiful with some more interesting options than many of the other spots in the suburbs. Prices were fair, given the large portion sizes and fairly generous servings of meat. Service was alright given the limited number of staff available -- with food being served quickly but water refills and other requests taking a little longer time. The food here is really the star. I was able to try the Bun Cha Hanoi with lots of meat, noodles, veggies, and fish sauce. One thing that I really liked about the pork belly was that they trusted enough in the quality of the meat that they didn't overly season or sauce it, so that you could really get the full flavor of the delicious meat. Similarly on the Bun Nem Nuong, the meat was nicely marinated and charred, but the pork sausage texture really shone and was super enjoyable. The egg rolls and shrimp rolls were also quite crispy and tasty, better than most that I've had around here though they could've used a bit more seasoning. However, the cucumber, lettuce, and bean sprouts were super fresh and made for a wonderful salad. The double bowl pho continued with the high quality meats and veggies though I would've rather preferred a huge bowl of soupy pho. The broth here wasn't the richest or most flavorful, but I really enjoyed the balance -- in particular with the veggies, basil, and lime. The meat was not served raw but was just cooked with a pretty good texture and I was surprised at how good the meatball was. Overall, great place to get delicious Vietnamese food at agreeable prices and large portions. The hostess had such a warm welcoming voice and was rather nice. The dining area is rather small so definitely not accommodating for large groups. It's nestled between the Burger-Fi and Tous le Jous on Milwaukee and Lake Ave. One reason why I didn't give it 5 stars were because the higher price point and the only way to pay is via cash. I don't know many people in this digital world that carries tons of cash. For my wife and I, our pho, Bahn Mi and apps were over $40. I hardly carry $20 on me. Everything is either credit card or Apple Pay for me. I understand the fees but that's just a factor of doing business in this day and age especially for pricier food. The sign on the door that says LongAn Restaurant is small, and the name by the street says Bun Cha Hanoi. The place is small and cozy, but I only came with my wife. I got #7, the rare round eye steak pho, but I got a bowl of something else...no rare round to be found, but got extra meatballs and other stuff...the broth had no flavor other than sweet and brown. This cute little restaurant is located right off Milwaukee and Lake Ave in Glenview. There's no outside signage with the business name. It's in the same location as a previous Vietnamese restaurant (change of ownership?). I ordered the original banh mi sandwich and an order of fried egg rolls through their preferred online order. Ordering online I was able to pay by credit card. If you dine in, it's cash only, so be ready to hit up the ATM before you go. It's a smaller place and was pretty busy around 1pm on a nice warm Sunday (50 degrees in Feb!). The pick up time was 25-30 mins so I shopped at the bakery (Tous Les Jours) and picked up a milk tea at Palgong Tea. Both are just a couple of storefronts away, easily walkable. Onwards to the food - I can't give a review of the pho, but it smelled very good walking in. The banh mi was mediocre. I was disappointed by it. The bread was harder, it crumbled after a couple of bites, and lacked the fluffiness of fresh bread. The ingredients were ok, the pork roll tasted old "porky" and off. The pickled daikon and carrots were extra finely shredded and not really pickled so it was missing that sour, sweet flavor. This was a very disappointing sandwich and for $9.95, it was not worth it. Very lackluster in flavor and ingredients. The fried egg roll was pretty decent. It was on the smaller side, just a little bigger than a Filipino lumpia. For $5.00, it was just okay. The flavor was good, but about 2 bites for my sons. There are a lot of delicious Vietnamese restaurants nearby so I won't be returning to LongAn Restaurant. I'm disappointed in the quality of ingredients and the taste. The picture I took makes the sandwich look so good, but the bread was stale and the ingredients weren't fresh. I had the bun cha Ha Noi (grilled pork belly, pork patties, an egg roll and homemade fish sauce) while hubby had the nun nem nuong (pork sausage noodle salad-Vietnamese pork sausage, 1 pork eggroll, 1 shrimp eggroll). Our toddler's food came out first and then ours came out shortly afterwards. There was a small portion of noodles for the bun cha Ha Noi and was definitely not enough to eat with the meat. Extra noodles are available for a surcharge but I didn't want to pay extra when the price for the food wasn't cheap here. The meat was bland/not flavorful so it was disappointing. We've been a longtime fan of the former Buncha and have been eager to try out LongAn. We visited for Father's Day and was surprisingly pleased. We ordered the mini short ribs, pho brisket, and buncha, and they were all excellent. We also ordered the strawberry smoothie with boba on way out, and it was perfectly refreshing and not too sweet.
