It came with the smallest bit of sauce that was gone in a few dips, not enough for th whole appetizer. GIANT CRAB CRUNCH $18 (Deep fried roll with spicy crab, avocado, smoke salmon, cream cheese served wi wasabi mayo and unagi sauce) - initially the role came without smoked salmon and cream cheese, it was the wrong order. I ate a little before realizing it and when I pointed it out the waitress didn't believe me and acted like I was lying, I was very uncomfortable. She kept telling me it's the giant crab crunch and had me show her each ingredient. She was pointing at rice on the roll and telling me that it was salmon and cream cheese right there, which it absolutely wasn't, she was pointing in nothing. And my roll came with jalapeño accidentally, it wasn't supposed to, and she kept telling me there's jalapeño inside like it's supposed to and that's why she knows my order is correct... which doesn't make sense because the roll didn't come with jalapeño. Honestly the whole thing was just uncomfortable and finally she took it back to the chef and said she will ask him. Chef said it was the incorrect role after all, we were right. Now I dont care it all about the incorrect order, I only care about what felt like abrasiveness and not believing me when I mentioned. Finally they brought us the correct order and it was very soggy and fishy. The smoked salmon inside had a strong potent fishy flavor. Barely any cream cheese. Mostly spicy crab and the whole thing was mushy and totally falling apart. I asked for a side of the wasabi mayo on top since there was barely any and she said it's an extra charge for a small portion. So we politely declined and were surprised. CALIFORNIA SUNSET $19 (Crab meat, cucumber, avocado topped w/ fresh salmon w/ salmon roe served w/ citrus mayo): first of all we asked in it's imitation crab and the answer was yes. It's not real crab, which is very deceiving since the verbiage said "crab meat" but it's not crab meat, it's imitation crab which is usually white fish. Second, we asked for the citrus mayo on the side and it came with none and then they tried to charge us $1 for it. They gave just a teeny tiny bit and when we asked for more we actually did get charged $1 for a tiny little Petri dish of sauce. Quality: veggie and fish quality seemed to be good except for the fishy fish my roll. Would not go back based on this experience.

It's light woods and cream colored walls presents a warm interior and a nice ambience despite the place being packed. They do have an all-you-can-eat option with a lot of variety including three dessert options. We all opted for the AYCE option and ordered drinks. Our server was the owner herself, Susie. My son, who is of legal drinking age wanted to try the Chinese beer they had. Susie explained that she has been waiting over six months for her liquor license and that Deerfield takes forever to provide them. She was very apologetic. We chatted with her about being BYOB and she said that wasn't possible either. C'mon, Deerfield, get you butt in gear and get them a liquor license. More liquor sales means more tax revenue. DUH! Anyway, we ordered othered hot tea and soda. She replenished the water for the hot tea often and was happy to do it. I've never been anywhere that provides free refills on hot tea (bags included). It was always nice and hot, too! I think they were not so prepared for the onslaught of customers on a Monday night. Susie was running back and forth between the sushi counter and the front door for delivery pick-up and serving the various tables in addition to the other server that was there. There were three of us. I started with edamame, sesame balls, and shrimp tempura. My son ordered the paper tuna, and my wife ordered the crispy jalapeno. All three of my appetizers arrived and then our rolls were brought out. The edamame, was very typical, but had a perfect amount of salt. The shrimp tempura was fresh and the dipping sauce was good and not too salty (which is an issue at most sushi places). The sesame balls were also very good, not too sweet and not too overly sesame. Next came our orders (not the paper tuna or the crispy jalapeno). I ordered the Shrimp Tempura roll (no avocado) and the Mexican Fire roll, plus two pieces of sashimi: the ebi (shrimp). I am not an adventurous fish eater and stick with shrimp. My wife ordered the Spicy Tuna roll and the Red Dragon roll. My son ordered the Godzilla roll, the Green Dragon roll, and the California roll. The sushi was really fresh and put together with care and love. The Mexican Fire roll is now one of my favorite sushi rolls and I have had nothing that compares to it with the exception of a special roll from Hakuya in Buffalo Grove. It needs to be noted that neither roll is like each other and both are delicious, but Susie's roll is much better. Both my wife and son liked their rolls as well and remarked about the freshness of the sushi. And after everyone finished their rolls, my son's paper tuna arrived along with my wife's crispy jalapenos. He said the paper tuna is worth visiting Susie's sushi if you're only ordering one thing. However, you should order more as the food is spectacular. But don' forget to order the paper tuna. They also tried the crispy jalapeno. Which was also very good. I'm a dessert person, so I had to order something and I got the fried bananas. What a great palate cleanser! I should have ordered it sooner to cleanse my palate between orders. All in all, Sushi Susie is a refreshing change from other sushi places. Susie is incredibly friendly and her food is really fresh. I recommend making a reservation before wandering in as we had one and the people who came before and after us did not and had to wait a while to get seated. Don't wait to go. Go now and go often. The owners, I believe our Korean hence when we ordered the beef bento box, the beef that came out was definitely not beef teriyaki but rather the beef that is used for beef Bulgogi. We were here celebrating a birthday and the automatic rolling waiter came out with the waiters and server singing, happy birthday along with birthday sword balloons, and you get a free ice cream with a candle.
