Sapporo With Lunch Combo Of Avocado And Spinach Rolls
    Steve A.

Checked out this long time favorite in Glenview. It's one of the best places around for sushi. Nobori is a pretty nondescript looking place, but don't let that fool you. Has better looking and tasting food. There's good ways to save including the combos at lunch. After finding out about this place we made sure to come in the next time being around here. It's a bit of a ways from the downtown area along Waukegan Road. This is located in a pretty boring looking strip mall, but the food wasn't boring though. It's about $17 for a Lunch Combo. The Roll Combo comes with a choice of 2 rolls. Lots to choose from. We got a couple vegetarian ones: the avocado and the spinach. Except for being kind of small, these had some excellent flavor. These were fresh and we got pretty good service. Better place to get sushi it seems than among the places around here. It has really good value at lunch. There's lots more to choose including ramen and whatever.

My daughter and I liked the food here the first time we tried the place. She ordered Spicy Tuna and Crunch California rolls, and I ordered the Shrimp Tempura entree and a Spider Roll. The rolls were delicious, the portion size and quality were great and I also liked my Tempura dish. Service was friendly but it was very slow. The place was packed and busy on a Friday night crowd and yet there was one server in the entire place. The owner was helping clear out some tables from time to time but he was busy at the kitchen counter as well. A couple of weeks later, we were craving for some Japanese food again so we decided to give Nobori Sushi another chance. This time, even on a Friday night, the place only had one table occupied and I knew that this is an effect of COVID '19. I ordered the Rainbow Roll w/ Shrimp Tempura and Turtle Roll while my daughter had the Pork Cutlet meal. All the dishes were delicious and since the place was practically empty, service was friendly, fast and efficient. I love supporting small business owners with great products and an equally awesome service. I will definitely go back here and I hope that the business comes through strong during this tough time.

This is the Chicago Fire Roll. - Sushi rolls with toppings and sauces are served on a rectangular white plate, accompanied by wasabi and pickled ginger.

We need to come here more often. We enjoy the atmosphere as well as the food. I forgot to take a picture of the tuna Tataki appetizer, it is our all time favorite.

Unagi don at lunch. Good portion and easy to share.

I've only been here for lunch. Although the food is pricy, we come here every few months because the food and service are great. Setting is very casual. You start with a warm towel to clean your hands. Ask for tea, it's good! Sometimes you have to flag down the person because the staff is small, but food prep is pretty quick. The lunch combos are reasonably priced and you get a decent amount of food. For most items you can pick a salad or miso soup to go with your meal. For people who don't want raw fish, you can get items like - teriyaki salmon - oyster teriyaki (battered and deep fries) - unagi (eel) don with rice and radish

Nobori is a low-key, well-priced Japanese restaurant. The lunch specials are great and the food comes out fast. The specials come with soup or salad, and your choice of a roll. I'm a fan of the futomaki because it has the perfect ratio of rice to condiments (e.g. avocado, tamago, cucumber...). On my visit, I ordered tuna without teriyaki sauce. The bean sprouts that come alongside the fish are tasty too: the right amount of sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Overall, good food, good service.

Chefs choiceSashimi Deluxe! Best quality sashimi on the north shore. Small space, excellent service, NOT noisy. Absolutely delicious.

Ambiance average, but the sushi makes up for it. Definitely try the Chicago Fire roll.

Disclaimer I forgot to take a picture of what I ordered, which was the chicken teriyaki bento box I forgot because I was so hungry and everything was so freshly cooked and hot that I just dived right in. That bento box had edamame a spring roll gyoza and the rice covered in furikake plus the chicken teriyaki and seaweed salad and more. I also ordered the lychee jasmine tea, which was cold and absolutely delicious and it was not a cup of diabetes, thank goodness We also ordered a Tonkatsu bowl, which was very generous, freshly cooked and super tasty. Both orders came with a miso soup, which was also piping hot and tasty. The set up is definitely a little bit more fast food because you can order to counter and then get your food on a tray and sit down or you can order it from a kiosk as well. They also do takeout orders. The best part about this place besides the food and the ambience are just so cute and modern and clean is the staff and the manager. People really do make the difference and people really do enhance an experience and an overall lasting and first impression. I would absolutely come back here. It is super conveniently located. Great pricing with very generous portions. The owners are Japanese and everything here is super authentic.

Plenty of seating with warm wooden furniture. Soft classical jazz music in the background. On a Saturday night, only a couple other tables were taken. We were seated immediately and provided the waters we requested. The menu is extensive but the server knew exactly when we'd finished deciding and came to take our order. The miso soup and salad arrived under 5 mins after ordering. The salad had a fresh orange dressing that provided a refreshing citrus flavor and no mayo so it felt quite light and flavorful. Once we finished the soup and salad, the sushi arrived quickly. The nigiri salmon was excellent - melt in your mouth quality. The nigiri tuna was definitely the best I've had. And I loved the maki. The negi hamachi had far larger pieces of fish than I've seen anywhere else. And the sushi rice had some sesame seeds in it, giving it a slight bit of satisfying crunch. We should have stopped there but everything was so delicious and fresh that we ordered the mango crunch maki for dessert. The mayo was fresh and ripe, offering a succulent contrast to the sweet soy drizzled on top. But it was a little too sweet for my husband. The crunch came from what we think might be puffed corn. I didn't like the crunch and felt it detracted from the mango. Others would probably love it but I'll stick with the fish! Can't wait to return!

The team is constantly circling the restaurant to make sure tables are cleared and food comes in a timely manner. Everything over all was delivery but some highlights from the shared dinner were the eggplant spread, the brussel sprouts, and date cake. Warmed pitas were seasoned well and texture was fluffy but not too soft where it wasn't able to hold its shape. I could have the sweet potatoes latkes everyday! The lamb ragu hummus and short rib were good but we found the actual protein was a bit dry and flavor subdue compared to their accompaniments. The spicy brisket kabobs were good but we were stuff so we had to slow our roll. The Date cake was delicious! Perfect amount of sweetness for those both sweet lovers and non lovers! 10/10 recommend. The greenhouse theme and twinkly lights were pretty. Now the service.... The server was kind, great attitude but poor service. Drinks were left empty, condiment requests were ignored or forgotten about, food and drinks items that were ordered were not told they were unavailable until after they were ordered (ie. Tea and lamb shashuka). Additionally, I was also charged for tea even though I I never had any but thankfully, they removed it. I had ordered tea and was initially told that they would be looking for the canister of loose leaf teas and then we were told that they didn't have enough canisters and too many canisters were broken. Um....ooookaaaay. We ordered two chicken kabob plates, grilled haloumi kebab and Moroccan onion dip. Their specialty drinks we got were: chocolate honey Carajillo, passion fruit spritz and then the say less. The drinks were delicious but a tad steep. Overall, food was delicious, they did skimp on the rice, I wish they added more. Their harissa was very good, spicy with a kick..would have loved it more if our waiter didn't forget the first time we asked for it. Chicken was well portioned, well seasoned and good flavor but it needed more rice to eat it with. The cheese was really good as well. Oh yeah, we also got the strawberry ricotta toast and that was....interesting. The cost to quality ratio needs work. The prices here are pretty steep and you get what you pay for here. Unfortunately, if the service is like what we received today then totally not worth it. Overall, it was a fun experience and I'm Glad I got to share with my family but doubtful we'll be back again with the exception to celebrate a special occasion, if that. Lastly, their take out container bag is super cute but that's not either here or there. Disappointing experience for a special bday.
