    Steak kabobs meal
    Stacey W.

Came here during a weekday for lunch. The place was not busy just before 12noon. There were plenty of seats. The food was made to order as it did take a bit for the food to come out. The rice was tasty and good, had decent flavor too it and it was not dry. The meats were flavorful and good, with the lunch special you get one of each kind, you don't get to chose anything. With the other meal you can chose your own sides. The meat portion for the steak was quite a lot as well. Overall a good experience.

Truly the definition of a hidden gem, I'm amazed that I have not discovered this place earlier. The food here is well priced, provided in big portions, delicious, and healthy. Service is fairly quick and the decor is themed appropriately for the restaurant. The food here is definitely the star, especially for the price point -- very similar to the value that you get at Pita Inn or Pita Pita but with offerings that I feel are a little bit healthier overall. The pork kabobs are seasoned nicely and tender with just about the right amount of fat on the meat. Steak kabobs were well seasoned and tender, with a texture that reminds me a bit of filet mignon. The lula kabob was super tender and spiced nicely, one of the best versions I've had in the area. The extras here really surprised me, in being prepared very deliciously and not just an afterthought. The armenian rice pilaf was surprisingly tasty, like a risotto in terms of flavor with nice and fluffy rice. The baba ghanouj had a really nice smoky flavor and matched perfectly with all my meat options with its intensely savory flavor. The hummus was quite good as well, with a good earthiness and nice creaminess to it. The cabbage salad was very nice and fresh, with the right amount of crunchiness to it. The jerusalem salad as a standout salad for me, with extremely fresh tomato, cucumber, and parsley that provided a great contrast to the meaty options in the rest of my meal. The potatoes were also prepared well, providing a nice hearty and starchy option to go with my meal. I also found the lavash to have a good chewiness while being perfectly thin and delicious. Overall, from entries to sides -- Armo Grill impressed throughout. Every item I tried was healthy yet delicious, full of fresh ingredients and something that I could eat everyday.

Went here for dinner and got the: -Combo Platter -Kids Lulu -Chicken Platter The food was delicious and filling, the hummus was great and the Jerusalem salad was fresh and delish. I also got two falafels which I enjoyed greatly!! Highly recommend this place. I wasn't a big fan of the tahini and I would have appreciated if they included more than one piece of pita in each meal though... definitely will be coming back!

Soda fountain and utensils - A beverage station includes a Pepsi soda fountain with multiple drink options, two Lipton iced tea dispensers, a stack of paper cups, napkins, and utensil holders on a kitchen counter. The background has a pinkish-brown tiled wall, and there are large utensils mounted on the wall. An electrical outlet is visible on the backsplash.

This is a fast casual restaurant where you order first and they bring to your table. This was our first time and the staff handling our order was very friendly and incredibly helpful with our order. She explained the process and offered suggestions if we didn't eat certain foods. We arrived about 40 minutes before close on a Sunday night. The place was empty. My wife got the falafel plate with jasmine rice, a house salad, and hummus. I got the chicken kabobs with jasmine rice. I didn't like the salad options or the garnish options. She offered me an additional side. I chose the potatoes. I rounded it off with a fountain drink. My wife got water. Her falafel was more like smashed falafel instead of the normal round balls. They were thinner and really fried with virtually nothing inside. I was told that they were flavorless, much like the rice. We both had it and there just wasn't anything to say about it. Bland. That's a good word. She said the salad started out good, but quickly realized there wasn't much to it. We each got a piece of the flattest and flavorless pita. It's a good thing that the dishes came with the pita as we had no idea what you would dip in the hummus (also just meh). My dish was the chicken kabobs. Normally chicken kabobs come in cubes these were two small, juicy, breasts of chicken. They were seasoned okay. The potatoes on the other hand, were really good. Cooked well and very well seasoned. Overall, everything was okay, nothing really to write home about (except the potatoes). With so many similar options in the area, we will probably opt to go elsewhere.

We happened upon this place after doing mini golf in the area and noticed it along Milwaukee Avenue. We're always up for trying a new restaurant. At Armo Grill, it's fast casual style, where you order at the counter, pay, get a number, and food is brought out to you. The outline of most meals is that you get to choose your protein, type of rice, salad, and spread, as well as get a pita. The pitas here are thin and a bit dry. As leftovers, they don't hold up too well. I was in a steak-mushroom pilaf-house salad-baba ghanouj mood, and it was a ton of food for about $17. Definitely 2+ servings. The rice pilaf was more flavorful than the mushroom pilaf, and the baba was a bit too smoky for my liking. The kids' meal bowls come with a protein (chicken or ground beef), rice, and pita. The young gentleman manning the register diligently checked on all tables throughout our stay. Casual seating environment, with a few tables outside too. Big parking lot. What else? Beer by the bottle is available, and there's a dessert case with baklava and cake slices too.

Chicken shawarma is the best, very affordable and healthy options, generous portions. Love it!

My husband and I met a friend at Armo Grill. This restaurant is hard to find. It is set back far from the road and poorly lit. I'm glad that we took the effort to find Armo Grill. I got the pork kabob plate. It came with a generous amount of pork, American rice pilaf, cabbage salad, and hummus. The pork was juicy and well-seasoned. The food was amazing. It was very flavorful and fresh. I enjoyed the dinner so much that I went back to the counter to get dessert. I got the chocolate honey cake. It was sweet and satisfied my sweet tooth. I will definitely be coming back for more! I highly recommend Armo Grill!

What a great experience! From the personable staff to the delicious food, everything about my first visit was top notch. The chicken kabob was perfectly seasoned, and I really liked the potatoes, too. The Jerusalem salad was fresh. I was with two other people, and we each ordered a different appetizer so we could try all three on the menu. Our favorites were the hummus and tabbouleh salad, but the baba ganoush was also great. We were stuffed from the generous portions, but couldn't resist buying a few desserts from the bakery case to bring home. We tried the honey cake, Napoleon and baklava. All three were delicious, but the baklava was my personal favorite. I can't wait to return to try more of the menu. They also offer a weekday lunch special for just $10, which will be a priority soon!

Great spot! Everything is fantastic - service, food and price, and they even have limited alcohol selection :p Nice clean big dining area with a simple menu, makes it easier for someone like me who's so indecisive :)

So this has been in my raider I saw yesterday they weren't opened and then as I drove by today I saw they were opened. I was so excited so I decided not to cook and it came here and I thought I would get a couple appetizers and a side and then go home and cook, but since it's a new business, I thought I would sit down and eat and hopefully if the food is good, it would encourage other diners to come in. Surprisingly they had a decent amount of traffic. I ordered hummus, baba ghanoush and a mushroom bulgar and the food was excellent brand new clean facility. I'm going to have to come back and order their shish kebabs so excited coming check it out. I think you guys will like it. I really enjoyed it. I think you will too. It looks like they had salads And really tasty spreads they had a dessert area I should've taken a photo but I forgot I was kind of anxious to eat there but I'll have to go back and do some more photography for some reason the photos I took aren't showing up I try to be a good girl and limit my time online and I had to re-open my phone to post this review and come and try it . It was the first day opened so everything tasted excellent very fresh nicely seasoned the baba ghanoush and the hummus are outstanding and I'm sure when I eat that tomorrow it'll just get better .

Tucked unassumingly in a shopping mall in Mundelein, Ararat is a tiny hidden gem. With only about an 8 table dining room, it is a cozy, intimate venue, with a huge and amazing menu, featuring Armenian cuisine. A party of 4, we ordered drinks, 3 appetizers, and an entree for each of us. The portions were generous, delicious, and we probably over-ordered by at least one appetizer, but we wanted to sample and share as many dishes as possible. We began with glasses of tasty Armenian apricot wine. Our appetizers came out in sequence rather than all at once, starting with Italian Lady's Fingers. A mixed salad of cooked bell peppers, nuts, onion and prunes. Very good. Next we were served Khorovats, Armenian style grilled eggplant . Also an excellent dish. Last was beef and lamb dumplings, Khinkili. One of these large, juicy dumplings could have been almost half a meal by itself. I've tried khinkili in a number of restaurants, and these were the best I've eaten. Our entrees were Steak Kebab, Lamb Kebab, Lamb Rice Pilaf, and Frikasse, a chicken, mushroom, vegetable in sour cream sauce dish. All were very good, and were were saddened that we were all too full to try any of their baked goods desserts. The meal was excellent, the small dining room comfy and the service very good. One word of caution: If you plan to dine here you must be patient. Dishes were served as they were prepared, and apparantly little if anything is prepared in advance. The advantage is hot, fresh, and tasty dishes. The disadvantage is that there was a 10 minute delay between service of the 1st and 4th entree. We were in no hurry, so we did not mind. Also we were sharing our selection. For a casual, relaxed, delicious dining adventure I highly recommend Ararat.

We over ordered because again, we were not aware of how big the portions would be and our waiter wasn't very informative: Carrot salad- even as a side this was a big portion to share with delicious light Asian flavors Jibek jolu salad- another great shareable with a tasty dressing and cuts of tender beef Khachapuri- one of the recommended apps, also a big portion to share though we didn't know what to do with the raw egg that came on the side. After flagging someone down to help us, we discovered that this was a delicious cheesy bread with egg mixed in. Crispy eggplant- another recommended app which was delicious and sweet Lamb kurdock- I didn't love this dish it was kind of dry and lacking in flavor but huge with lots of potatoes and veggies Combo skewers- so much meat that was all very tender and flavorful, though it came on one thin soggy tortilla. It would have been nice to have more tortillas on the side to make a wrap. I also tried the chicken tabaka, and this was delicious with a curry flavor. Overall, most dishes were so delicious, but it was a bit of a learning curve on how to order and what to expect.
