Pita W Shawarma did not disappoint! The service surpassed any expectations I had. Staff were personable and friendly. All were patiently answering questions and took time to explain different dishes. I was moderately surprised by the amount of food that comes with each order. The decor was simple and tables/chairs were clean & sturdy. The place felt open with the furniture spaced apart. There is limited seating despite the amount of space. I think there was a total of 6 tables. Most importantly, the food was carefully prepared and presented. Everything was flavorful and well seasoned. We enjoyed it so much, we ordered for a large group gathering a couple weeks later!

Food - It was some of the best shawarma I've had, especially the beef. The person working told us that they make their beef shawarma in-house so we had to try it and it did not disappoint. We popped in for lunch and your meal also comes with a mango juice so overall the value of their lunch special is solid. I personally prefer a spicier red sauce when I eat Mediterranean, but theirs is on the tangier side (from what I've read this also aligns with authentic Mediterranean cuisine). Service - The guy working was very friendly and accommodating if we needed anything. Ambiance - Feels like a typical shawarma joint. Easy, quiet place to come have a meal.

I have been looking and waiting for good shawarma to come near me in Buffalo Grove and finally we have one! I've already been here 5 times in the last 2 weeks it's so good. The staff is very friendly, but most of all the food is amazing. Their shawarma (beef and chicken) off the spit is moist and so flavorful. They have a great lunch special for 13.99 and you can choose between a couple different options. Plenty of parking, we will surely be regulars here for a long time!

Pita w Shawarma, I'm so glad you're in the neighborhood. Authentic Middle Eastern flavors without needing a trip to Chicago. Real deal flavors that feel like someone actually knows their way around shawarma. Sauces are to die for, especially the garlic--do yourself a favor and grab it. Nice addition to the block, the folks running it seem genuinely into it and it shows in the food. Chill, casual spot--perfect for a quick bite or a relaxed dinner. Generous portions and solid value for what you're getting. If you haven't checked it out yet, you're missing out. This is my second time here and I've had the beef and chicken shawarma, the beef sheesh, lentil soup, hummus, falafel, and lastly the salad(yes, we order a lot of food). Nothing here disappoints.

Hot, freshly prepared vegan and gluten free food options!! Staff was friendly and helpful. The Mediterranean grill has a classics cafe style. It did not disappoint! Thank you!

Soooooo good! Went on a Wednesday night and had the beef kabob entree that comes with rice, salad, hummus and pita. Got a garlic sauce too. Delicious! Nice small business, come and give them some love and have a dinner you'll love at a very reasonable price. Great value and awesome food. Take out or sit in. I'll be back VERY soon.

The food was incredible, well seasoned, it was warm but not hot which is fine with me. The falafel was moist and the hummus was well presented and creamy. I was delightfully shocked by the amount of food we got, one dish comes with an appetizer salad, hummus, and pitas. I got the chicken and beef meal which was spectacular. The service was great, they were friendly so no complaints there. It was fine for a little restaurant a homey feel with pleasent music (it reminded me of the music Disney world plays at night at their resorts). Overall really amazing hidden gem and so so so glad I went to try it out, I hope it stays for good!

The menu is large. Something for every taste.

There is even a bar are with counter seating and three - five tables (two standard height and three counter height. There is a monstrous screen behind the bar for sports, but they mostly show videos of Greece, but they are mesmerizing videos of a beautiful country. It's a cleaner version of Dengeo's. And, dare I say, better version. Except for their avgolemeno soup. Such a weak travesty. Please fix this. It's just a watery mess. However, everything else is delicious. I ordered the Greek Chicken with their lemon-butter rice. They debone the chicken and serve atop a mountain of their rice. If also had their potatoes (which are good) but the rice is magical. The first time we went, they had a serve yourself soda fountain and they since got rid of it and sell soda in bottles and cans. They do still have a self-serve water station. Once you order, staff will bring to your table, so please tip when you order or leave on the table as they do come by and clear your table as well. It is first come first served and you grab your own tables. I've been there on weekends and weeknights and they get pretty packed. The food is flavorful and quite tasty. The portions are huge so you're definitely going to bring something home. Nostimo is now in our rotation of places to go in a pinch and they do have an outdoor seating area, too.

Actually has a drive thru so how classy can it be. The restaurant has options for families and groups. Coming in here it looked like a regular casual restaurant where you order at the counter. It's one of those places you get the food brought out. There's also a bar area you can get beer and wine. For certain it's not the average fast casual. It's about $8 for a glass. Best we had was the Roditis, which is a rosé from Corinthia. It's about $8 for the Hummus. Comes with lots of pita bread. The rest of the menu is meaty. Great place located on Rand at Chestnut. It's closed Mondays. There's the hummus for vegetarians.

We drive past Grill House all the time, it has been in Northbrook for a long time (I just found out…read morethat it's been here for 9 years), however, this was the first time that we ever visited, and I am happy that we finally did! My husband and I wanted a quick and good dinner one Sunday recently, and we picked Grill House after I read some good reviews on Yelp.  Although it's a casual, fast-food-style restaurant, the menu is surprisingly extensive, with a wide variety of healthy Greek dishes. It was definitely helpful to look over their menu online before we visited, because the menu board inside could be a bit overwhelming.  I guess I still looked quite confused when I saw 2 kiosks in front of the ordering counter.  A staff behind the counter offered to help, and I just ordered directly with him.  Later of the evening I discovered that he's the friendly owner Gus. After placing our order at the counter, we were given a table number, and our food was delivered promptly.  I ordered a Chicken Souvlaki Plate ($17.50 at the time, it's now listed online for $18), while my husband ordered a Filet Mignon Souvlaki Plate ($25.50).  Each souvlaki plate included a soup or salad, rice and potato (1 piece), a side of veggies, and pita bread in a paper bag.  It was a generous amount of food! We both chose the lentil soup, which was served piping hot in a nice ceramic bowl with a lid. It was flavorful and comforting. My chicken souvlaki was tender and juicy, never dry, and both the rice and potato were delicious. We were both impressed with the quality and value of the meal. I ordered a lemonade, which is considered a fountain drink ($4.00) and comes with free refills, though I couldn't even finish my first glass. My husband would have ordered a glass of wine if we hadn't had plans afterward, so we were happy to see that Grill House also serves beer and wine for a future visit. The service was another highlight. Everyone was warm and welcoming; a special shout-out to Kevin, who was very attentive and checked in on us several times.  When I was taking photos around the restaurant, the owner Gus greeted me again, which was a nice personal touch. The restaurant itself was bright, clean, and inviting. There's also a pleasant patio for those who prefer to dine outdoors. We will definitely be back to try more dishes from their extensive menu.  I am glad that we finally gave Grill House a try!

That said, I've continued to go here and there for convenience despite the price vs food value. Anyway, fast forward to today. I stopped in to grab lunch and they had a new build your own bowl which looked good. You got to choose from 6-7 things (rice, veggies, sauce, etc). I only wanted chicken and rice so asked for a bit of extra rice since I wasn't getting the rest of the options. I was point blank told "no we don't do that". So I asked if they could charge me a slight bit more and they proceeded to add $5.50 for an entire side order of rice. I looked at him baffled and said to remove it. He responded with a horrible attitude and asked the other person at the register who told him not to give me the rice. . Also a small fountain soda is $5. If you're going to rob me, at least be courteous in the process. Never again.
