Super Taco on a Pita (pictured here on a salad plate)
    Cristel M.

I tried the Super Taco, which was large, but despite containing lettuce, onion, tomato, cheese and cilantro, it had no flavor at all. It came with a side of hot sauce, so I dribbled a little on. Be warned -- that stuff is very spicy! There was no middle ground with this dish - it went from bland to burning hot. If I order it again, I'll add my own salsa from home -- but I feel like it should have some flavor without any condiments. I also had a vanilla shake. It started out on the thin side, but I soon consumed the thin portion, and what was left was too thick/icy to move up the straw, so I had to eat the rest with a spoon. After a couple of visits here, I'm not sure what to make of the place. The menu includes gyros and hotdogs as well as a variety of Greek and Mexican dishes. If I return, I'll try a Greek dish, but I don't think it will be soon.

Yummy gyros excellent cheese frie. Taziki tasted like salad dressing. Super efficient . Went to pita to pick up food. Before I went in, I called in the order by the time I got out of Pita Inn and grab my food it was ready. The onions were very hot. Wish they would soak in water first

My parents live near this restaurant. Their menu is actually quite large. Surprisingly, their shrimp meal is very good. Large, actually. I also like their steak sandwich. The hands down favorite for my family is their gyro (which I don't order). To me it also looks very large. I think the prices are reasonable. It looks like they offer to go, delivery, and dine in.

Genuine tacos! This is the pork version.

I've lived and gone to church in this area since the late 1990's, but for some reason didn't start coming by here until this week. Go figure. The ever popular Pita Inn is across the street, but if you're in for some good ol' fast food, then Skipper's is where it's at! So far I have had their gyros and tacos and I loved them both. I saw the complaint about small gyro for $10, but I disagree, their portions are decent. Gyros were typical, nothing extraordinarily different than what I've had. Meat was tender, pita nice and warm. And tacos? Yes, tacos! I had the el pastor taco so far and it's well seasoned and delicious. That corn tortilla is also done well, and the cilantro and onion toppings are a perfect fit. I've been to Big Star and Antique Taco in the city, and I must say these tacos are pretty spot on, if not better. The staff is friendly, the food comes out quick. The interior is a bit of a "blast from the past", but honestly that made it feel more homey and inviting! And who doesn't love supporting small businesses?! :). So if you're in the area, check out Skipper's! I may just run into you!

A few "highlights" of our visit: Dishonesty: A server lied and said there was no kids' menu (which is clearly listed on their website) just to avoid a meal substitution. When I asked about ordering chicken tenders, the server told me they didn't have a kid's menu and were only making an "exception" for my daughter. I later found the full kids menu on their website. Instead of simply explaining an age policy, he chose to be dishonest and was visibly annoyed that I even asked. Being Ignored: It took 20 minutes and multiple people flagging down a server just to get one bottle of Coke. I asked the female waitress 3 times for the Coke and she repeatedly looked at me and ignored me. It took 20 minutes and 3 family members calling out to the server to get her attention. Disrespect: The hostess literally put her hand in my face when I politely asked for a to-go bag. I politely asked the hostess for a to-go bag, she actually put her hand in my face and told me to "hold on." This place makes other local diners look like five-star establishments. Unbelievable and completely disappointing. Will never be returning.

I was a quite disappointed because we went on Saturday at 6:30pm and they were completely out of all pide, ezme, haydari, and the pickles so the menu was pretty limited. The entrees also said they come with bulgar and rice but we did not have any bulgar on our dish..it also said we should have roasted peppers and onions, which were not on our dish either. I assume they were out of all of those? We really wanted hummus but it was not on the menu. When we finished our meal, we noticed the table behind us had hummus... it would have been nice to know they had hummus. Also, we really wanted to try the manti but did not see it on the menu. At the end of the meal, my husband wanted a coffee and the waitress said there was no coffee and the machine was broke. Service was ok. Waitress forgot our drink. Not very attentive. Dining area is small but cute. They are planning to expand the dining area so there really isn't much of a market anymore. On a weekday evening, as expected, the restaurant was not busy.  We were promptly seated at a 4-top table (2 × 2-top) against the right wall, with some other 2-tops on both sides.  Like many reviewers had mentioned, the venue was beautiful, modern and chic. There were 7 tables occupied, including us.  The music that they had was not too loud, just that customers' conversations were amplified by the box shape open dining area.  If we focused enough, we could hear every conversation if we wanted to.  This was obvious when a table of about 6 women got seated at a table near the front door, some of them laughed and talked very loudly.  My husband and I just found it funny and didn't let that bother us.  However, when the restaurant is filled on busier days, it might be a different story. Our server, Patrick, was very nice and attentive.  Since they did not list drinks on their menu except those with alcohol, I asked him about non-alcoholic drinks.  After a brief "discussion", he asked me to leave it to him to make me a drink with mango.  He came up with a beautiful drink that was good and refreshing, with some mango flavor.  It was Virgin Paloma on our receipt for $8, which was reasonable.  He was very polite and checked in on us several times at appropriate times during our dinner.  The pace of the dinner was good, we spent a total of an hour and 15 minutes in the restaurant. Patrick might be the only waiter serving all the tables that evening, though. I also ordered Grilled Octopus ($22) which was very good, tender and flavorful, but was a little too salty to my taste.  The small pita bread wedges were warm and fluffy with some crispy edges, the beet hummus was creamy, and everything was delicious and tasted fresh.  I generously shared 2 little bites of octopus with my husband and I finished the entire plate, it was so good!  My husband really liked his Spiked White Fish ($29) and I shared a bite of that too.  He also had a House Salad for $6, that was a very good value.  He enjoyed a glass of Sauvignon Blanc Crossing ($12) too.  We also shared an order of Crème Brulee ($8), that was creamy and cooked perfectly.  We ordered a takeout order of Rigatoni with Sausage ($23), that was a good portion, and was still delicious and al dente the next day after being microwaved. I am so happy that we found Social Inn - a hidden gem in Plaza del Prado, it's not far from home, with comfortable and beautiful ambiance, excellent service (from Patrick), an attractive menu with enticing food (fresh ingredients and appealing plating), and reasonable prices, we will definitely be back!
