The former JD's Que and Brew has been transformed into a lovely fast casual Greek restaurant with counter service. There is even a bar are with counter seating and three - five tables (two standard height and three counter height. There is a monstrous screen behind the bar for sports, but they mostly show videos of Greece, but they are mesmerizing videos of a beautiful country. It's a cleaner version of Dengeo's. And, dare I say, better version. Except for their avgolemeno soup. Such a weak travesty. Please fix this. It's just a watery mess. However, everything else is delicious. I ordered the Greek Chicken with their lemon-butter rice. They debone the chicken and serve atop a mountain of their rice. If also had their potatoes (which are good) but the rice is magical. The first time we went, they had a serve yourself soda fountain and they since got rid of it and sell soda in bottles and cans. They do still have a self-serve water station. Once you order, staff will bring to your table, so please tip when you order or leave on the table as they do come by and clear your table as well. It is first come first served and you grab your own tables. I've been there on weekends and weeknights and they get pretty packed. The food is flavorful and quite tasty. The portions are huge so you're definitely going to bring something home. Nostimo is now in our rotation of places to go in a pinch and they do have an outdoor seating area, too. read more

Had great wine and food at this Greek restaurant in Arlington Heights. It looks a lot more casual than it actually is. Nostimo has better quality than how they present themselves. Actually has a drive thru so how classy can it be. The restaurant has options for families and groups. Coming in here it looked like a regular casual restaurant where you order at the counter. It's one of those places you get the food brought out. There's also a bar area you can get beer and wine. For certain it's not the average fast casual. It's about $8 for a glass. Best we had was the Roditis, which is a rosé from Corinthia. It's about $8 for the Hummus. Comes with lots of pita bread. The rest of the menu is meaty. Great place located on Rand at Chestnut. It's closed Mondays. There's the hummus for vegetarians. read more

We decided to come here as 2 of my sons wanted to try this place. We invited my in-laws and my brother-in-law and his family. Since there was a total of 11 and the seating is first come first serve, we decided to call to see if they had reservations. They did take our name and reserved a table. When we arrived we noticed a table was reserved and we were informed that it was our table. We sat and looked over the menus. When we were ready my 2 boys and I went up to place our order. My one son has major allergies so we spoke to the chef and he came back out to recommend the dishes he can have. It was great that he did so and gave us confidence that my son would be able to eat without worrying too much about the ingredients. I ordered the Shrimp Kalamakia with a side of the Greek Rice. My son with the allergies ordered the Pork Kalamakia with Greek Rice and no pita, my other son ordered the Traditional Pork Gyro with Greek Rice. The sides we ordered: Saganaki Fritters and Spanakopitakia. My son that ordered the Pork Kalamakia devoured it. He said it was tender and juicy and probably could have eaten 4 skewers. My Shrimp Kalamakia was nicely charred and seasoned, I squeezed some lemon and it provided a nice tang over the seasoning. The Lemon rice pilaf was soft and cook just right and was nicely balanced. I had one Saganaki Ball and it was delicious. My son had the Pork Gyros said it was really good and the Tzatziki sauce was creamy and rich with flavors. My in-laws bought the table desserts and I got the Baklava and my wife got Loukoumades (Greek Donuts with Nutella) and both did not disappoint. I really loved the citrus honey syrup in the Baklava. The Loukoumades had a crispy shell and nice a fluffy on the inside and the Nutella amount was perfect. This place is very good and well worth the price in my opinion. I loved the fact that they took the time to make sure my son with allergies was safe. read more

Simple good Greek cuisine in an informal atmosphere. The staff makes rounds in the dining room to greet or assist you. They have the yummiest Greek potatoes. My usual go to is the chicken kabobs. Every thing is hot, fresh and tasty. We go often and haven't been disappointed! read more

What a great place. Quick service but some Greek dishes that are incredibly delicious. Pork Gryos, beef and Lamb Gyros and this roasted chicken. The avgolemono soup is deeply lemony and very filling. Had their Salmon for dinner with rice pilaf, and pita. It was the perfect amount for dinner. The guys who took my order made sure we ordered what we wanted and he got it down correctly. My uncle next to me made sure with the kitchen to see if there was anything allergen friendly for my cousin. They took great care of them to make sure my cousin can have their food. Their environment is a modern ambiance with some decent music giving a relaxing vibe. read more

Greek fast food joint very nice place. Has outdoor seating as well as a large dining area. I got the Greek smash burger. It was pretty tasty. My son got the pork souvlaki and he loved it. My friends got a variety of foods such as calamari, Greek salad, gyros, and humus. Everyone was extremely satisfied with their selections. We also got ice cream and loukoumades. Only missing is the cinnamon but otherwise delicious. I got a frappe. Reminding me of the beaches of Greece. They had both fountain drinks and bottled beverages. I think they also have alcohol but I didn't see any menus so I'm not sure. All in all, fast and friendly service. read more

Very tasty Greek meats in an upscale fast-casual space. Came here for a weekend dinner for four, ate very well for $85 including tip. Food was flavorful, portions were large, and service was good. I'd come back. read more

3.5 but rounding up. I stopped in for a weekend lunch and it was great! This fast casual spot is fairly large with indoor (~50) and outdoor seating. There are tables and booths throughout and were kept clean. The decor is very nice with flowers cascading from the ceiling with very cute light fixtures. You get a feel for actually being in Greece! The process of ordering was easy - my friend and I placed our order with a front counter staff member and grabbed a table number. Within 5-10 mins our food was ready and brought over to us. We both tried the gyro (lamb and beef) pita. I thought the fries would come as a side but they are actually inside the gyro itself. Pricing is on the higher side for it being fast casual, however, the quality of the food makes up for it. Everything was tasty and full of flavor. The portion is fair and I did have left overs. They also brought over a complimentary bite of a dessert. I'm not sure what it was, but it was nice to end with something sweet! read more

Greetings, Greek food is one of my favorite food categories. I grew up in Oak Park, so a run to Greektown was easy enough to do back in the day. I'm pleased to share that Nostimo brings the Greektown flavors and vibe to a great fast-casual spot on Rand Road. One visit is all that you will need to discover that Nostimo is all about the joys of Greek food. The sharp building exterior gives way to a smartly renovated taverna-esque interior that immediately sets the tone with a warm and welcoming experience. Greek hospitality and prompt service are core values. Orders are taken at the counter then you grab a table with your number and punctual table-side service awaits. A well curated choice of Greek beers and wines is noted and available at a separate register. Well done! Orders come right from the open kitchen, hustled out by the serving staff so it's hot on arrival. Flavors...exceptional. Nostimo nails it each time. Gyros, skewers, salads, sides...all sensational. Sauces and seasonings on point. I am continually impressed with Nostimo's ability to keep such high standards throughout...down to their service items: Upscale plates and flatware. Everything is spotless and tidy... May you find your visit to Nostimo equally enjoyable...it's a welcome slice of Greek life right within our community. Until next time...tk read more

Amazing place! I went in the other night and i was blown away by how good everything was.

I enjoyed my dinner at Nostimo! You can order via drive thru, or inside at the counter. They have a large menu of Greek options- gyros, hummus, rice, lemon soup, baklava. I went with the gyro combo with fries! It was good, but didn't blow me away. Service was very efficient. The inside was very nice, it is a bit more upscale in comparison to your traditional counter service place! read more

Food is good and reasonably priced. Order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. Music is a little too loud. They need paper towels in the bathroom instead of a dryer. Who wants to touch the door handle knowing some people are too lazy to wash their hands. read more

It was just awful! The chicken gyro had dried up burnt chard's of pieces and the zucchini fritters were dark brown grease balls. What a total waste of +$25 dollars!!! Threw it in the garbage!!! read more

We have eaten here a number of times and it's our go to spot. Tried out catering for our daughter's 1st birthday with about 20 ish people. Rave reviews all around. Grecian chicken is so tender and juicy. Pork Gyros are my favorite of anywhere I've ever had. Food was ready exactly on the dot of pick up time so was super fresh. Even brought it out to my car for me. Give Nostimo a try - everything we have had is excellent! read more

Fast casual Greek food that's priced similar to full service Greek restaurants, with food quality that fortunately matches the price. Nostimo serves up cuisine that is well seasoned with great textures and good portion size, similar to what you'd expect if you dined in at Plateia or Demitri's but in a very large dining room that's beautifully decorated and a much more casual atmosphere. The servers are friendly as well and were quick to correct an error in our order. The meat here is cooked nicely from the slightly juicy pork kalamakia to the meaty gyros, there is the right amount of fat in the portions which are cut into good sized pieces. The seasoning isn't too aggressive but fairly tasty, with a lower sourness level than expected from Greek food. I also enjoyed the sides I tried, with the feta fries having a great mix of crispiness, tenderness, and saltiness. The greek potatoes were done equally well without having too many herbs. I also enjoyed the freshness of the tomatoes and onions, demonstrating the consistency of using high quality ingredients. Overall, delicious food in a nice setting. There's some strong contenders nearby like Armo Grill and Pita Inn that serve competitively priced grill options but the atmosphere here makes it a more unique option in the area. read more

All their food is excellent but my favorite is the saganaki bites. Yumm. Seating outside is nice and their prices are reasonable.

Great fast casual Greek food. Generous portions and delicious chicken and gyros options.

We came here on a whim, as we were looking for a place for lunch near an escape room nearby. We absolutely love Greek food and this by far is the most legit traditional gyro I have had since visiting Greece. The decor was super cute (Greek signs and all), plenty of space to sit, and take out seemed popular. The service was fast and they even offered the dine in tables a sample of baklava. Besides the traditional gyro we were shocked they actually had freddo espresso which is the go to cold coffee in Greece; metrio for us is preferred. There are plenty of options for gluten free too. The only thing I wish they had were two different sizes of rice and soup, because they are very large. However the food was all enjoyed, worth every penny, and my group can't wait to go back. ! read more

First time at Nostimo tonight! I love Greek food and I've been wanting to try it since I first saw it. Here are some of my thoughts: --It has the feel of a fast food restaurant, but it's a little more expensive, and the food is good. --I ordered the traditional pork gyro, and I was NOT disappointed : ) All the flavors work well, the pork was tasty, and there was plenty of food! --I got the combo, which includes fries (which I LOVE) and a drink for about $15. Not cheap but good. --You go up to the counter to order and they give you a number and bring your food out to you. --Service is fast. I am not exaggerating, they brought out our food after we got our fountain drink, while we were sitting down. Overall, I would highly recommend!! read more

Excellent Greek restaurant! My husband and I are very judgemental when it comes to Greek food, and this place did not disappoint! Interior is spacious and clean, with plenty of seating. We definitely tasted the garlic in there, and the potatoes were savory and crispy on the outside, yet soft inside. Highly recommend checking this place out for delicious Greek food. read more

My husband and I went to Nostimo to meet a friend. This was formerly the home of one of our favorite restaurants and we had high expectations for this restaurant. When you walk in you order at the counter and your order is brought to your table. We ordered the gyros and pork kalamaka. The food was fresh and flavorful and very lemony. We got to try the baklava and it was very good too. My only complaint was with the prices. Nostimo is more expensive than similar restaurants serving similar food. Even though it's pricy, I can still recommend Nostimo! read more

So yummy. The place was extremely clean. Prices are very reasonable. It's an easy place to find. Seems like they have lots of help. Which we all know is a little bit unusual nowadays.
