I just want to try this new burger and shawarma place. Heard while in line that this is Ukrainian resto. The place looks nice. They have starry starry night design and there is tub in the corner. One menu for burgers and one side is shawarma. We ordered both. Hubby just want the cheeseburger and I ordered the spicy chicken wrap. The burger is decent in size. Nothing special on the taste. For me it is too much mustard taste. The bread is not good though. It is on the dry side. As for the shawarma, it is phenomenal! I love the garlic sauce that they put inside. It makes the whole sandwich juicy. Whaterver spices in the chicken is just perfect. The wrap has a crisp to it. It is spicy but not too much. It gives a kick to the sandwich. The wrap is huge so I was able to eat the other half the next day. The server is nice and decent time of wait to get your food. I will not go for the burger but definitely coming back for the wrap!

We ordered the chicken shawarma. It was so delicious. The Ukrainian Classic comes with chicken, cabbage, tomatoes, pickles, garlic sauce. The shawarma is enough for two people, but too good to share. The garlic sauce was so delicious. Friendly service and unique ambiance with lots of live plants and dance club music. All I wanna hear is untz-untz-untz-untz-untz-untz. DJ make the bass go boom, boom, boom, boom! We will be back.

I went in expecting a solid burger, but what I got was something much more deliberate--almost…read moreengineered. This wasn't just a stack of ingredients; it felt like every layer had a purpose. The bun was the first signal they knew what they were doing--lightly toasted, just enough structure to hold everything together without stealing attention. Then came the patty: thick, juicy, with that perfect sear that gives you a bit of crisp before it melts into richness. But the real centerpiece? The fried egg. Perfectly cooked--edges slightly crisp, yolk still runny. The moment you bite in, it breaks and seeps into the meat, turning each bite into something borderline indulgent. It doesn't overpower the burger; it elevates it, adding a creamy texture that balances the salt and char of the beef. The toppings were minimal but intentional--fresh lettuce for crunch, a slice of tomato for brightness, and just enough sauce to tie it all together without making a mess. It's the kind of burger that makes you slow down halfway through, not because you're full, but because you realize it deserves your full attention. Messy in the best way, rich without being overwhelming, and anchored by that fried egg that takes it from good to unforgettable.

The burgers are on point, the fries are fresh-cut and legit, and the whole place just has that welcoming energy. The staff? Top-tier--friendly, attentive, and genuinely making sure you enjoy your experience. Definitely a spot I'll be pulling up to again.

Just expect good food, fast. Their menu is simple: burgers, chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, fries, pop, and milkshakes. The burgers come in either a single, double, or triple stack, with cheese. I got the cheeseburger and hubby got the two on two (double stack) and we were satisfied with the burgers. It was simple, juicy, grilled and good. The whole family loved the fries. Service was pretty fast, we got ours in less than 10 minutes. Dining tables are available inside to eat, and also a few tables outside in the parking lot if you prefer the outdoors. Overall, great burger joint and I would come back again!

For those who don't know, Small Cheval is the fast casual version of Au Cheval which I've had the opportunity to try in NYC. There's plenty of locations throughout Chicago so definitely make it a stop when you're in town. Now is it as good as Au Cheval? Definitely not but at one-third of the price point, it's hard to complain. The beef patties are well-seasoned with crispy edges and just the right amount of fattiness. My main complaint is that there wasn't nearly enough dijonnaise sauce or pickles, making this pretty dry. The bun was nicely buttered and toasted but almost took away from the contents inside the burger. The Famous Fried Chicken Tenders were also a good try. I could tell the chicken was clean & high quality but there was some flavor I couldn't quite place which made it a bit off-putting; thankfully it wasn't super noticeable especially with the sauces. The Golden Fries were delicious and paired well with the burger & tenders! Even the Cookies & Cream Milkshake was solid! Classic milkshake with a good balance of creaminess, sweetness, and texture from the cookie bits. The interior was also bright, spacious, and comfortable! All in all, really solid try!

It's like going to a burger place with a bar inside. I would also have to add with a side of a malt shop thrown in. The lady who took our order was very friendly. Both her and the guy making the shakes seemed competent and efficient. They were both just over worked. There was a rush when we came in so it put them behind. Everything was in good repair. There was no damage to the seats and tables and for the most part they were clean. The things that didn't work for me were the possible understaffing, and the lack of a good onion. I asked for raw onion on my burger. I inspected my burger for it and couldn't find it. So I asked for some more. She was very helpful and handed me a tiny container of minced onions. Apparently that's all they have. I do like a good slice of onion on my burger. If you're looking for a good quick bite to eat or a very tasty shake, this is a great choice! I would come back if the mood struck.
