My wife and I are majorly impressed with Elia and very glad to see such a significant upgrade in this space. We first visited back in August during their fourth week of operation, and it was pretty buzzing for a Tuesday lunchtime. I ordered the chicken gyro bowl which was a huge portion of food and honestly the best single meal I'd had in months. My wife got a different bowl and was equally delighted, so much so that she would occasionally bring it up out of the blue--"Remember that lunch at Elia? That was so good." We brought the kids for a Sunday brunch recently and it was packed; around 11:30 the wait was about 30 minutes. The brunch food (omelets, pancakes) was good but not quite as special as that magical lunch. I'll return again and again for that chicken gyro bowl. PS, don't sleep on the bakery items either. Bougatsa is my favorite Greek pastry, and Elia's version is very good. read more

I've been curious about the new hot spot in Park Ridge, and today the stars lined up for us to visit. The place is hopping for sure. It is an incredibly inviting space; very clean, very bright, and I love all the plants decorating the place to give it a bath of warmth when it could otherwise be cold and sterile. It was just me and my kiddo and we ordered a lot. She is a huge fan of pancakes so that's what she got, and I got the fig frittata. We also got the havarti hash, because it sounded really good, and it didn't disappoint. I'm not sure if I've had a frittata or omelet that is like this, with such a strong sweet profile with the savory. It was interesting. I added sausage too and it was pretty good. The hot chocolate was tasty, and they have quite a few beverage options from mimosas to juices to lattes as you might expect. I'd thought this maybe was just a juice bar with some pastries but I was mistaken. They have a full, albeit small, menu, with impressive dishes and beautiful presentation. They also have had several fundraisers in the short time they've been open. Parking is good. The parking lot *beneath* the surface lot is actually public parking, not just for the condos as I once thought. Came here on a random Monday morning, however it also happened to be a federal holiday. As expected this place was packed, but we literally walked in and got seated immediately, which was fantastic. I could not tell if they took reservations online as I did try to search, but I do not believe that they do. As soon as you walk in, it is super bright and light and airy, which is fantastic and you can actually just stop to pick up a drink to go as well as some pastries from their counter. We however, came in to have breakfast. The menu here is very specific, and as some posh people may call specifically curated. There is definitely nothing on this menu that is super extremely sweet or super extremely savory. Which I don't mind at all. And then when the food actually came out, I would say it's a very fair portion however, considering the fair portion, the prices were rather high. For example, I got the Elia pancake stack and you get to choose between two different sauces. And I believe this was something like $15 for three pancakes keep in mind no meat very little fruit on the side nothing really fancy about it. And after taking a bite, there's nothing really different or unique about the buttermilk pancakes at all. Service was super friendly and attentive so absolutely no complaints here whatsoever. So as long as it keeps up, I think this will try not to be a really strong location. I believe there were two other restaurants in the same location prior. It is located in that built out area right off of touhy and good luck getting parking on the main deck. You'll have to go underneath but the good thing is it's free for three hours. Overall, I would definitely say I would come back again. If I was in the area again it is definitely worth a visit. read more

Came in after Pilates with some girlfriends for brunch. Place was crowded but we didn't have to wait long for a table. The walls and decor are light colors and it really brightens things up. I don't know why but lately some business and I have been getting off on the wrong foot- Elia being one of them. When my family of 9 and I arrived on a very busy Sunday, we were advised that it would be a 30 minute wait. Thirty minutes is somewhat doable with two toddlers and a 6 year old but then that 30 minute wait became an hour and thirty. Omgosh, the kids were losing it. The worst part is that we didn't know that if you're coming in as a group of +10, you should call in to make a reservation. I was hopeful. As God as my witness, the only reason I managed to convince my family to stay that long was because the ownership was genuinely sorry and kept communicating to us how they're trying to find us seats. To their defense, some customers with big groups paid their checks but would linger around and what is the ownership supposed to do? Tell them to leave? I understand their predicament and then after an hour and half, they finally got us seated. I mean they literally put together the table in front of us and forgot to bring the silverware but it's okay, we were just grateful to be seated. The ownership again came over to apologize for the inconvenience of waiting so long and brought over loukamadis (sorry for the bad spelling) on the house. They were SO delicious- if you've never had them they are fried pieces of dough covered in honey- so good. The waiter came over almost immediately and was very sweet. We all ordered our food and were shocked by how quickly it arrived. In true Greek hospitality fashion, the portions were generous and so delicious. I haven't had a genuinely delicious salmon egg Benedict in a minute so I honestly had very little expectations but OMGOSH, when it arrived I was like okay this looks promising. It was absolutely delicious- I didn't order it with capers because I saw they had an olive spread which is salty in itself but the olive spread along with the egg and smoked salmon with the hollandaise over it was nothing short of heavenly. The hash browns were also cooked to perfection. Needless to say my entire party of ten was silent eating their food and the only comment made was "well, that was worth all theeeee wait" haha. I also tried the stuffed Dubai chocolate French toast- equally delicious but the topping on the cake for me was the cappuccino. The atmosphere was very chill, this place could be easily marketed for a beautiful baby shower or bridal shower venue (if that's something that's offered) but plenty of space. What struck me the most was that this is a family run operation and not just that, you could easily see the cohesion between the family and there was order- one of the siblings was in the kitchen overseeing the food and orders, another one managing the seating and another one overseeing the customers. I loved Elia. I get my dog groomed in Park Ridge so need a breakfast spot to eat in while he's being groomed. Some places I've tried aren't very good but Elia was excellent. It's a beautiful space with an interesting menu. Staff was friendly and just need a little bit to get their timing down. My sister had the village omelette and I had the Nova Lox bagel platter. Everything was delicious even the simple tomato and cucumber salad with mine. I definitely will eat there again and hope I'm more adventurous. read more

Hubby and I came to Elia Cafe on a weekday for brunch and there were plenty of open tables. There is a small parking lot out front and some street parking nearby. I had the gyro bowl (gyro, cucumber, tomato, fresh herbs, pickled onion over quinoa. Served with tzatziki and pita). The dish was beautifully plated and all the ingredients were fresh. I didn't read the description carefully when I ordered but I was really hoping there would be hummus but was a little bummed when it didn't come with any. Some of the menu items are kind of pricey (i.e. $20 for Dubai French toast). Overall, food and service were both good and restaurant is located in a convenient location. read more

I tried the Pistachio Latte with oat milk and it was EXCELLENT. I also went with the Traditional Breakfast Eggs over medium, bacon(cooked perfectly) Sourdough toast and fruit(Fresh and Sweet). This cafe restaurant is a must-try! It is new to Park Ridge, officially opening this week. The menu is very interesting and elevated with Greek influences throughout. It's got a good balance of savory & sweet, breakfast & lunch options as well as fresh pastries and juices. The prices are good too. I had the avocado toast which was served on Greek sourdough bread. It was very tasty. I am picky about breads so the Greek sourdough was a hit for me! My friend had the breakfast burrito which she enjoyed. The portion size was generous and she had lots to take home too. The owner brought us a Date Ricotta French Toast to try which was a lovely treat and really delicious. We will definitely order this again. We had drip coffee which had good flavor, they serve illy brand. The interior has had a fresh makeover and looks really nice. The service was excellent. By I ordered a Greek Salad and to my amazement it included NO lettuce. So the waitperson offered that they could bring some lettuce and had the nerve to charge me for it! I'm sorry but Greek restaurants always produce a terrific Greek Salad. It's a simple recipe: Romaine, tomatoes, olives, peppers, red onions and feta cheese. Sorry, this is a big miss. Call before you go! Definitely call ahead to make sure they have what you want before you head over. I still stand by my last review about the taste of the food--it really was good the first time I went. That's why I was so excited to bring a friend yesterday. I even insisted we eat here, even though she wanted to go somewhere else, because I wanted her to try the smoked salmon Benedict and the açaí bowl I had raved about. Well, we sit down, place our order, and the waitress tells us: no smoked salmon today. Ok, fine--we quickly switch to a veggie omelette (which, by the way, isn't even on the menu). It was alright. Then we order the açaí bowl... and she tells us they don't have that either. My jaw dropped. Those were literally the two things we came for. We ended up with the lemon blueberry pancakes. They were just okay--on the drier side, and not enough lemon sauce compared to what I've seen in their photos and videos online. Another tip: don't bother paying for a large iced drink. I ordered a large this time, but it came in a glass the size small came just slightly wider instead of taller. I know because I have the same glasses at home and tested it by pouring a small into the "large" cup--same amount. So it's an unnecessary upcharge. I found Eliá Café while I was in town for a work trip to Chicago. A staff member at my Marriott hotel near the airport suggested I check it out in Park Ridge, and I'm so glad I listened. This place feels like a modern Greek/Mediterranean brunch spot you'd expect to find downtown, not tucked just outside the city. I started with a cinnamon latte and the "First Date" latte - both were delicious, not overly sweet, and really well made. For food, I went all in: the Elia Stacks with pistachio sauce and the Baklava French Toast. The pancakes with pistachio anglaise were fluffy and super flavorful, and the baklava French toast (with that filo/baklava vibe) was next-level good. I also took two fresh juices to go, and they were just as impressive as everything else. What really sold me, though, was the hospitality. Every person we interacted with was friendly and attentive, and one of the owners or managers came by our table to ask how everything was and made us feel like family. The atmosphere is cozy and modern with beautiful natural lighting - exactly the kind of place I could see myself popping into every day if I lived in the area. I've literally been thinking about this meal since I left and already want to plan a trip back to Park Ridge just to try the Havarti smash burger and Wagyu steak sandwich. If they ever open a location in Southern California, I'll be first in line. Until then, if you're anywhere near Chicago, Eliá Café is absolutely worth the detour. read more

The place looks great! Very clean and vibrant. We went at 9am on a Sunday and were seated right away. When we left around 1015 there was a long line. We sat down and saw the QR code to order so we thought we had to use that. After entering a few items the waitress did come by. We told her we ordered via the app. She said 'great!' and never checked on us again. A group of people arrived after us, ordered with the waitress, and they got their food 10 minutes faster. Maybe it's because the people in the kitchen had to bring us our meal instead of a waitress? Next time I'll order via the human. I had the Pistachio Iced Latte, which unfortunately I didnt love. My husband ordered the Mimosa flight- he said it was "interesting." My child had the strawberry lemonade and he loved it. For breakfast I had the Nova Lox - loved it. My hubby had the Village omelet and he enjoyed that. We also shared the Lemon Blueberry Pancake and that was tasty. My child had a huge plate of pancakes and bacon. It also came with some fresh fruit on the side. The waitress never came back but at least one of the owners stopped by to ask how were doing and if we needed anything else. That was nice. omg soooo yummmm definitely a hidden gem. idk why so many of the reviews i saw of this place said the food was mid... i loved it personally lol the interior was SO cute, they def put a lot of effort into the details we got the lemon blueberry pancakes, veggie egg white omelette, coco joy latte, and pistachio latte. the coffee was amazing, you could taste the espresso and it was good level of sweetness. the pistachio latte was nutty and so creamy. the coco latte was the perfect balance of coconut and mocha without being overpowering. the veggie omelette was so fluffy and filling, and it came with hash browns. the lemon pancakes were thick, but dense and fluffy at the same time. they used fresh blueberries in the pancakes and the lemon glaze def elevated it. overall the portion sizes were big, ingredients were fresh, service was quick and great, and the vibe was very comforting lol. i recommend yall try it out !! read more

Each dish was almost $30 which is on the high end for breakfast dishes. The wagyu in the wagyu bowl had absolutely no seasoning /very bland. Rice in the bowl was too watery and not cooked enough. The 'Wagyu' in the hash skillet tasted just like plain ground beef (also not seasoned) not worth the hefty price tag. read more
