Ordered for pickup one night during the week. I ordered the All American Cheeseburger and a side of garlic Parmesan fries. Pick up was easy and the gentleman at the counter was nice. I really enjoyed the burger, it was fresh and tasty. The fries however were dry and surprisingly very plain tasting even with the garlic and Parmesan. Maybe they would taste better ordered at the restaurant? A decent option for a burger, next time I'll try to dine in.

The grilled cheese has an up-charge to put cheese on it. Are you kidding?

Ordered delivery via their website. I hadn't heard of them before but we decided to give them a shot. The burger was ok; I had the Year of the Goat burger and unfortunately the bottom bun in particular was not right for the burger, at least for delivery, because I ran out of bun by the end. Maybe a pretzel bun would have been better but I didn't want the taste of a pretzel burger. It had a bit of pink inside although I ordered it well done. But overall it was a really disappointing experience. I was a little unsure right from the start. They had a kids item, the grilled cheese sandwich, listed for $4.99 online. But then when you add ii to your cart, it's $4.99... until you add cheese. If you choose ANY cheese, that adds 79-99¢. So to get a toasted cheese sandwich for the $4.99 price the restaurant advertises you have to order it with... no cheese?? My significant other ordered a burger with grilled onion, jalapeño, and bacon on it. But there was no onion or bacon, which was a $3 additional charge. I tried calling the restaurant to get a refund for the missing items, but couldn't get through. I called the humber on Google and it rang ten times before I hung up, then I went to the website and called the number listed there in case it was wrong on Google; that resulted in a recording coming on immediately saying that the party I called was unavailable. This was 30+ minutes before their stated closing time. Given that they lie about the price and up-charge to have cheese on a CHEESE sandwich, and that they can't get the order right on a burger that is literally the first one listed on the "build your own burger" section of the menu, I'm not going back nor will I recommend them.

Looking for a place to eat in Des Plaines, I discovered this restaurant on Yelp. The inside of the restaurant was a little dingy. Food prices seem high. For 3 sandwhiches, it was about $52. It did take some time for our food, and we were dining in. However, they do have a super large menu. Beef, chicken, and vegetarian options. My burger was really delicious. If you aren't in a rush, give them a try. They were pretty friendly.

    Skirt Steak Sandwich we received

I have been coming to this business since they opened next door. We usually just order a burger but this time we tried other items We ordered steak tacos steak sandwich chicken sandwich and cheese fries I picked up the order and when I got home what we received was sad The tacos were falling apart onions not raw and no cilantro. No salsa was given The steak sandwich looked empty with few pieces of meat Chicken sandwich looked pressed down Fries was only thing that was ok but their dipping cheese looked like honey mustard. I didn't try that So we called to complain and the manager Edgar said I could come back to get a refund since I paid cash The next day I went back and Edgar was there but I was spoken to by another gentleman that was Rude He gave me my money. ( not complete. I gave them $60 cash and was given $39.88. Either way they told me not to return to their establishment Pictures One skirt steak example from their tic tok And one picture of what we received It's a shame

Impossible cheeseburger with garlic parm fries were perfection. Easygoing ambiance, friendly staff that checks in regularly, and comfort food that really hits the spot. I'll be back soon.

Came in on a random evening as I was working in the area and was super surprised with how good this place was. The owner cooks the food which is always a plus, and everything tasted amazing. Good music, sports on, can't complain about a thing.

We walked into a clean and roomy building and eyed the many options on the menu. The friendly staff took our order and was helpful answering any questions we had. I ordered the old fashioned All American Burger and it was piled high with meat and toppings. Beefy and full of flavor. At first I was a little disappointed with the Cajun fries. They were highly seasoned but a little mild for this southerner's palate. But then I dunked one into their ketchup and my tongue perked up. A touch of horseradish made everything come together beautifully.

The service was amazing thank you so much to everyone. It was my first time here and def coming back. The food was fresh the French fries are to die for. They have a huge variety of cheese and options for those that don't eat meat! We also ordered a Chicago style hotdog but mom ate it before i could take a picture! Hahah Inside and outdoor seating which is great, place was very clean and organized. It's a must try

Are your GF buns vegan? I can eat meat but not eggs or dairy. Also, does your buffalo sauce have dairy?

Do you guys use the Creekstone Beef brand?

I see there are gluten free options? Do you have a dedicated fryer only for fries? I am asking because I have celiac disease. Thanks

Yes anything that goes in our fryer is gluten free. We are very serious about celiac

It's a small business, and they make orders on the spot instead of making burgers ahead and leaving them in a warming tray, so that's ok to some extent but not a place where I would be able to go very often. The fries weren't good. They weren't at all crispy; they seemed like fries that had been sitting around for a bit. They were that kind of wrinkly that fries get after a few minutes, if you know what I mean, and limp. Disappointing and nearly inedible; I only ate maybe half. They were amongst the worst fries I've ever had, but maybe this is the one bit of their menu they don't make to order and if I'd had them fresh it would be good. Because they make their food to order, it takes a bit for your food to be ready. I think it took about 10 minutes, and if there had been anyone behind me I think they have a couple of spaces in the front of the restaurant to wait.

I told him, I'm cool with ordering from the kiosk. I ordered a Bumper dog, Bumper burger and the Boosted Bumper Fries that has their fresh cut fries, Bumper sauce, cheese sauce, caramelized onion and diced jalapeño. I received my food and everything came in their branded boxes. They have the most comfy chairs. I started with the Bumper Burger which is a thin smash patty that came with Bumper Sauce (it reminds me of Big Mac sauce), lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles. It was the on a soft bun. All the flavors were okay, kind of on the small side. The Bumper Dog was a Chicago style hot dog. All the toppings were on the bottom with a split grilled dog. I ended up flipping the pickle on dog to eat it. To me the split dog was kind of lost. The Boosted Bumper Fries were a big hit. They made sure that you got all off the topping until you got to the bottom of the box. I found myself shoveling them in my mouth. It's messy and definitely a 20 napkin meal. Also they have the coolest bathroom.

For those who don't know, Small Cheval is the fast casual version of Au Cheval which I've had the opportunity to try in NYC. There's plenty of locations throughout Chicago so definitely make it a stop when you're in town. Now is it as good as Au Cheval? Definitely not but at one-third of the price point, it's hard to complain. The beef patties are well-seasoned with crispy edges and just the right amount of fattiness. My main complaint is that there wasn't nearly enough dijonnaise sauce or pickles, making this pretty dry. The bun was nicely buttered and toasted but almost took away from the contents inside the burger. The Famous Fried Chicken Tenders were also a good try. I could tell the chicken was clean & high quality but there was some flavor I couldn't quite place which made it a bit off-putting; thankfully it wasn't super noticeable especially with the sauces. The Golden Fries were delicious and paired well with the burger & tenders! Even the Cookies & Cream Milkshake was solid! Classic milkshake with a good balance of creaminess, sweetness, and texture from the cookie bits. The interior was also bright, spacious, and comfortable! All in all, really solid try!

It's like going to a burger place with a bar inside. I would also have to add with a side of a malt shop thrown in. The lady who took our order was very friendly. Both her and the guy making the shakes seemed competent and efficient. They were both just over worked. There was a rush when we came in so it put them behind. Everything was in good repair. There was no damage to the seats and tables and for the most part they were clean. The things that didn't work for me were the possible understaffing, and the lack of a good onion. I asked for raw onion on my burger. I inspected my burger for it and couldn't find it. So I asked for some more. She was very helpful and handed me a tiny container of minced onions. Apparently that's all they have. I do like a good slice of onion on my burger. If you're looking for a good quick bite to eat or a very tasty shake, this is a great choice! I would come back if the mood struck.

In the meantime, I ordered a Hot Chick (medium heat), with a side of fries, some extra pickles, and the garlic sauce to make my Slavic heart happy. The food came out fresh from the bubbling oil, it could be handled without burns, but clearly spent no time under a lamp. Both the chicken and the fries were fried to a delectable crunch. No twice-fried-as-an-excuse here, genuinely well done. My only note is that it feels as though the fries and chicken *may* have spent an extra 15 seconds in the fryer. While the innards were tender, it felt as though a tinge of moisture was sacrificed without need. The fries were seasoned perfectly, and other than the usual delight of dipping them into everything on the plate, they were perfect as they were. Fantastic amount too, not the starch overload of Five Guys, but not a skimpy serving either. The chicken sandwich was the real star. The medium contained some proper spice without having smoke come out the ears. It was well sauced, and had a great hit of acid from the pickles. Out of left field came the slaw: I was not expecting to like this to the point of almost leaving it out. However, it was fresh, felt homemade, and wasn't a mayonnaise bomb. Would order the again without complaints or reservations. I also had a chance to try their house-made lemonade. I appreciate that they use zero-calorie sweetener to cut down on sugars. However, it came out too sweet for my liking. It would be helpful to have options of level and type of sweet. Final notes: The server behind the counter was very welcoming and friendly, and the food came out in a reasonable time frame considering how fresh everything was. Final verdict: A case where I say it's a good thing Nash Bros is a little bit of a hike, otherwise I might visit too much for my health. We made a reservation because I'd heard this place can get pretty busy. Although it didn't seem too crowded when we first arrived on a Saturday, it filled up quickly throughout our meal. I definitely recommend making a reservation, especially if you're planning to come for dinner. As soon as we walked in, I was struck by how beautiful the restaurant is. Since the building was once a church, they preserved the stained-glass windows and cathedral ceilings, which give the space so much character. We ended up sitting on the patio because it was a gorgeous day, but I definitely want to come back and dine inside so I can fully appreciate the interior. The patio was modern, spacious, and completely shaded, making it very comfortable. Since it's located right next to the little lake, we also enjoyed a nice breeze throughout our meal. Our waitress was friendly and attentive overall, but there was one moment that stood out. My friend's baby accidentally knocked over a full glass of iced coffee, spilling it all over my friend's lap and onto the floor. The waitress watched as my friend cleaned up the mess herself but didn't offer to help or replace the spilled drink. Aside from that, the service was good. My friends and I all ordered something different, and everyone enjoyed their meals. I had the salmon poke bowl ($19), which was fresh, flavorful, and incredibly refreshing. The ingredients tasted high quality, and all the flavors worked really well together. It was more filling than I was expecting! Price-wise, I expected the menu to be more expensive than it actually was. I'm sure dinner prices are higher, especially for steak and seafood, but the brunch menu was quite reasonable. Most breakfast and brunch dishes range from $12-$20, making it a great value for both the quality of the food and the beautiful atmosphere. Overall, we all enjoyed our experience and I'll for sure be back! I'd love to try other menu items and come for dinner, too!
