1st time customer. I took my mother-in-law out for lunch and yelped Mediterranean food as she has never had it before. Pulling up we noticed the very nice outdoor seating area. The smells coming out of the restaurant were leading us inside. The order area was quite crowded as there was a constant line of customers coming and going with the flow of orders. There was a slight mix up with our orders as the front register person gave us the wrong order number which caused the cooks some confusion. Regardless we both ordered the Business Special / chicken breast platter w/ Rice and side salad. Wow!! She was blown away for her 1st experience with this cuisine and is instantly hooked. I really wanted to love this place but part of the issue was out of their control, but the other part, not so sure what happened. This is a pretty busy place for lunch. I did come after the normal lunch hour rush, but it was still a little busy. I ordered a falafel sandwich which I was really looking forward to eating a pita, with lettuce and tahini sauce. When my number was called, I walked up to the counter and asked where my food was and apparently someone took my item. I've been eating at Pita Inn for over 15 years now and the food is great. But is no one else noticing that the pita bread the past few years is smelling like wet towel? I don't know if they're using old frozen bread but I hope they do something about this because it is the only problem I have come across and it seems to be happening at all of their locations. This one definitely still feels like the old Dempster location before they moved to the larger spot closer to the expressway. On the positive side the food comes out here really quick, quicker than I've seen at the huge Dempster one. On the not so positive side I could tell most of what we got wasn't made fresh to order or even close, I've never really had a problem with older staler items at the Dempster one but that must be the tradeoff to getting things out faster. Beautiful Decor, I am astonish about the awesome decorations of their dining room. The food is excellent and superior to taste. Since freshness is very important, freshness was the main outline here in this restaurant, plus they are polite and friendly with a smile in their eyes. I love that they express religion in their entrance. Except, their falafel was very dry, (sorry,) maybe because it was overly baked in their burning oven. I was happy to see there was no line on Memorial Day at lunchtime. In fact, I was thrilled they were even open! (They are actually open 365 days a year, I found out.) The gentleman at the counter was friendly, patient, and helpful. It had been a while since I ate at Pita Inn, so I had to take a minute to decide what to order. I chose the falafel sandwich and asked if the tahini had dairy. I was told yes, it does, but that they also have a vegan tahini. Additionally, I ordered a small hummus, which comes with pita bread. It took about 5-ish minutes for the food to be prepared, then I found a table in their clean and bright dining room. I enjoyed listening to the music while I ate; it made me feel more immersed in the culture. The food was delicious, and I liked that they sprinkled paprika and oil on top of the hummus. The pita was warm and fresh, and the falafel was perfectly seasoned! After lunch, I ordered baklava to-go, which does not contain dairy (woo hoo!). Even though it tasted good, I felt it was a bit dry... perhaps a little more honey would have done the trick. During my experience at Pita Inn, I was reminded of how much I love this place (especially this location), and am looking forward to returning again soon! read more

Everything is fresh and their staff is always helpful when there are any questions. The process begins with placing your order at the front counter, receive a number ticket, find a table, and wait for your number to be called on to pick up at the pick up counter. There is plenty of inside seating and when the weather is nice, guests can enjoy outdoor seating. We ordered Chicken Shawarma, falafels, Chicken Tender Entree, Extra Pitas, and Chicken Fatoush Salad. They made famous their business lunch special which consists of rice, lamb kabob, skirt steak, chicken filets, filafel, salad and pita bread all for $4.95. It has since increased in price but still a great deal. They have ala carte items as well as all the combo specials...all super delicious! Great for the meat eater and the vegetarian alike! They also have hummus and babaganoush that can be added to a multitude of dishes like their shwarmas and the like. The service is quick...for example, if you order online, the wait time they usually give is like 10-15 minutes MAX. You have typically the same wait time while dining in. I get the chicken fatoush at the Skokie location all the time. This location always tastes so bad. They put wayyy too much sumac and vinegar to the point, I can't not even taste what I'm eating. I like spicy food, and I can't finish this salad without it burning my mouth due to the heavy vinegar. We group ordered online for pick up, and it was incredibly busy! Understandable though- they have a GREAT lunch special and it's always really good. I picked up and once I got back to work, our pitas were missing. Each special got 2 pitas, and we ordered an extra order of pita. Once we noticed it was missing, we gave them a call and the person on the phone was very empathetic and offered to deliver them to us (15min away) and we got a good laugh out of it on the phone too. This past weekend I woke up hungover af and really craving some damn good Mediterranean foods. So I opened up my trusty Yelp app and searched for something, anything that would stifle my hunger and hangover. That's when I found Pita Inn. I've visited the one in Wheeling before and man the one in Glenview was an hour away :( Not to be deterred I pounded a tall glass of ice water, threw on my sunglasses and off I went to make the journey for some delicious Mediterranean rice and meats. I arrived around 2pm on a Sunday and the place was packed. The outside tables were almost at capacity and the inside dining area only had a few tables open. I was immediately greeted with a line of people waiting to place their order of food. Pita Inn is in a league that comparable to Portillo's when there are huge hungry crowds. They have a system and it works and it never feels like you're waiting a long time for your food. So I placed my order and I went with the combination plate with an extra falafel and got one togo for my wife. At that point I was so hungry that I couldn't decide what I wanted so I wanted a bit of everything. I got my number and patiently waited for my food and soon enough they called out my number "33" and it was my turn to sit down and eat! You read all the reviews yourself, there's not a bad thing to say about the service, food, and atmosphere of the restaurant. The rice, pita, and proteins are cooked to perfection and seasoned excellently. The veggies are fresh and don't get me started on their white and red sauce, ooofff I could drink a tall glass of each! It's so damn good! Pita Inn did a fantastic job curbing my hungover and hunger and even if I wasn't neither of those things the food still taste amazing. I'm super glad I made the trek to Glenview for some Pita Inn and even if they were still 2 hours away I'd still make the hike! Customer service is poor with the one man that stands at the kitchen counter. Rude service from this guy.

Everything is great at this restaurant. The service the staff the food. The only issue is several times we've ordered out and we can either have items missing or we've had the incorrect items given to us. However with that said they usually take care of it and or let us know to hold onto our receipt for the item missing. There is another issue though, I normally have always purchased the combo platter and the amount of lamb pieces you get has gone down. It used to be four, then it became three, just recently I received two pieces. The price of the dish has also gone up but not too much. I understand the economy changes but it's not like anyone lowers their prices when it's doing well. So I would say avoid the combo platter from here going forward. Stick with their other dishes. Maybe they can itemize what you get before you order and if you want more of something you can pay extra or just get a separate dish and add a chicken breast or lamb kebab to it. This was meant to be a 4 due to missing food but 3 after receiving three pieces of lamb and it going down to two pieces of lamb in the combo platter recently.
