This is a halal Mediterranean restaurant very close to ORD. Therefore, it's a very convenient place to have lunch/dinner before entering the airport. The food was quite tasty, from the flavorful rice to the spicy meats. They only have beef and chicken, some lamb would have been great. They also have middle eastern dessert like baklava etc. The staffs were also friendly and there were plenty of parking spaces. Only downside is that more white sauce would have been desired.

The service is friendly too and I was greeted with a smile and menus are at the register if you are taking out orders. The food was ok I got the combination so I can try their meats out. The chicken was sort of dry and no seasoning or flavor and the lamb was was ok but I did love the beef it was juicy. The yellow rice was good and it wasn't dry at all l. I wish they could give more meat for the price I paid. But it's nice place just pricey but they don't give enough of the meat for the price you pay.

Scrumptious!! Highly recommended!! This was my first time here, I ordered the combination plate to go. Everything was hot and fresh, very flavorful, tender and delicious! The lady behind the counter was very helpful, friendly and so patient, I felt valued as a customer!! This is good mediterranean. The chicken is well cooked, no danger there! Mostly brown meat, which I enjoy. Also ordered the plate. It is not heavy on the spices, I am used to more, but it is not bland. The hummus is very soupy. Baby hummus is what I call it. But again, enjoyed it. . Service was excellent. Overall satisfying meal.

Sultan Kebab and Shawarma in Des Plaines took our late evening door dash request and we were delivered love in take out containers. We ordered the Chicken Kebab w rice and Falafel as well as a salad. Out of this world! The chicken was savory and tender with a perfect grilling, the rice was soft with a delicate flavor. The Falafel was the best I've had light and crisp outside and soft with subtle flavor inside not too dense. Which is not easy to achieve! The sauces provided were light and tasty, I'm not used to the style of garlic sauce they make but it was very good. I had to call the restaurant because they hadn't approved the order but the Gentleman answering the phone was gracious and friendly saying no problem I'll take care of it. All I can say is... THANK YOU! after a long day and stress this was the perfect element, keep up the good work, keep showing the love in your food.

So to start off I came here 8 months ago on the day of my prom and I'd decided to spend it hanging out with a friend of mine. Nonetheless when we came here it was a little into the afternoon around 8:24 but surprisingly while all the other restaurants nearby were preparing to close up for the day they were still open which was nice. As we entered I came to take a liking to the environment as it had a very humble and laidback aura to it which I greatly enjoyed, and their seating and table arrangements were quite nice so it made for a rather memorable interior. The food was a bit pricey, but for a smaller business it is understandable and I didn't mind it all that much. However when it came to the quantity it was rather lackluster, but the food was alright, nothing to write home about. Unfortunately though my friend ended up having a hair in his food so that wasn't too pleasant, but the staff handled his situation excellently by offering to remake his order while also putting in an additional item for his troubles. After we finished eating we decided to stay around a little longer before leaving, and needless to say I enjoyed my time eating here. Would love to come again sometime soon and try out other things on their menu.

This place is delicious. Chicken shawarma was perfect. Rice, salad, and pita bread were also 10/10. The spicy sauce and garlic sauce are also great condiments. A little pricy at 21$ but a big portion and worth every penny. read more

We had such a great experience at Sultan's and honestly wish I had come here sooner. The owner was incredibly welcoming and friendly, which immediately made us feel comfortable. You can tell he genuinely cares about the restaurant and about making sure guests have a great experience. The restaurant itself is very spacious and extremely clean, with plenty of room to sit and enjoy your meal without feeling crowded. The atmosphere felt relaxed and inviting, but I have to mention it was 8pm when we went. Now for the food it was absolutely delicious. The chicken kabob was incredibly juicy, tender, and full of flavor. It was perfectly grilled and seasoned just right, the kind of dish where every bite is better than the last. You could really taste how fresh everything was. My four year old loved the chicken and the rice was delicious. We also ordered the combination plate, which was fantastic. It came with a great variety of Mediterranean Dave's including the best falafel I have had, seasoned chicken, fresh rice, and all the classic sides that complement the dish so well. It's a great option if you want to try a little bit of everything, and everything on the plate was flavorful and well prepared. What really stood out to me though was the hospitality. The owner's kindness and welcoming attitude made the whole experience feel personal, not just like another quick meal out. Between the delicious food, the warm service, and the clean, comfortable space, this place really deserves the 5 stars. We will absolutely be back. Highly recommend Sultan's if you're in the area! PS the Baklava was the best Baklava ever. We got the original pistachio! It's a must! read more

Another one! that went down--possibly one of the worst meals I have eaten in years- The sausage actually tasted rotting and the meat quality was bad. The chicken had fat throughout it. I called and let them know and I think they gave me $11 back out of 66. Absolutely disgusting will never be back. read more

Very friendly staff, very delicious food with big portions. I wish I lived closer so I could eat it weekly! I ordered the chicken shawarma plate (to-go). The pilaf and chicken were delicious. People are kind, food is fresh, and portions more than generous. I have been here twice and my interactions with management and others have been way beyond the expectations of a fast casual restaurant. They also have a serviceable patio for us office dwellers who enjoy fresh air with our supper. I am shocked! And in disbelief of the amount of reviews I'm seeing on Google 4.8 stars,and 4 stars on Yelp! It looks like all lies and deceiving to attract customers in! I never in my life paid for food to sit down at a restaurant, and the minute they bring the food to the table, I got up and left right away! Didn't touch the food or asked for money back, because I felt sick to my stomach from the odor in this place. It has such bad smell when you first walk in , and looking at the main entrance door so filthy on the inside, it looks like a mechanic shop door. Aside from that the chicken on the spit looks so dark while it's raw spinning to be cooked. Unbelievable to see a restaurant operating at a level like that! Food inspector should walk in to witness what saw . read more

This place used to be outstanding. Went downhill constantly and I've ordered more than 5 times from this place. Rarely get pita bread anymore and rarely ever give the sauces I ask for. Chicken was dry a few times too. For the price, I would expect consistency of the great food I had 5 stars ago. read more

In a nutshell-AMAZING! The food is so good. Everything is made to order, so it takes a little time to get your food. My first reaction was "wow, that smells soooo good". Then I tasted it. This restaurant does Middle Eastern food right. I got the Vegetarian Falafel, Hummus and salad. The hummus was perfectly blended and seasoned. The falafel was super crisp on the outside and soft in the middle. The salad was a nice bonus to get some more veggies. And, oh almost forgot, there was a warm pita on the side. The picture doesn't do it justice (and the food got a little tussled in transit). Will definitely go here again next time I'm in town. read more

During an unexpected additional day in the city caused by a cancelled flight leg, I ended up at a hotel near ORD. On a whim, I visited Sultan for lunch, a restaurant about which I knew nothing beforehand. It turned out to be an incredibly pleasant surprise. The cuisine was remarkably fresh, brimming with flavor, and all at a very reasonable cost. Fayez, the owner, personally takes care of his guests, and his hospitality is truly outstanding. His commitment to providing a memorable dining experience was genuinely touching and highly appreciated. So impressed by the warmth and quality of my first visit, I eagerly returned for dinner the same day, further cementing Sultan as a highlight of my extended stay in the city. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. If I could, I would undoubtedly give Sultan 10 stars! read more

You can't go wrong with flame grilled meat piled high in a stone bowl, but each piece had it's own flavor and was so delicious. Though served with homemade tortillas to make your own wrap, I couldn't stop myself from just grabbing the meat on its own. This was the first time I tried cactus as well, and to my surprise it had just as much flavor as the meat. The salsa that is poured on top of all the meat pools at the bottom of the molcajete after your meal, making for a great treat at the end with some rice. Speaking of rice, their rice is perfectly fluffy and has great flavor as well. I'm typically not a fan of beans but I couldn't stop eating the ones that accompanied our meal...how did they season everything so perfectly? I also ordered the enchiladas oaxaqueñas (mole), but ultimately was served the verdes. This wasn't a big deal for me and I didn't even bring this up since I devoured my plate anyway, but after reading a few reviews have found out that they often are out of the mole sauce and possibly just served me the green sauce for that reason. The coffee is strong and perfect diner coffee - just how I like it. The menu is ample and hard to choose. I had the French toast with berries and banana . The berries and banana were fresh and plentiful. French toast was standard - exactly what I wanted. And the maple syrup was served warm!
