Another nice view of the dining room, from my table.

After landing in Chicago, I headed straight to this restaurant for a cevapi meal. Cevapi is grilled sausages with raw onion, ajvar (eggplant relish) and kajmuk (clotted cream) on the side. The meat sausages are placed between two pieces of lepinja (grilled bread). Their lepinja is outstanding here! I also ordered a Slovenian coca-cola (Cocktail) with my meal. This meal was a great start for what would be a fantastic weekend in Chicago! The Uber driver who picked me up (drove to my hotel) wondered how I wound up at this place from Chicago OHare International Airport. Staff is friendly and accommodating here. I passed on Bosnian coffee. The waitress told me, "next time." I thought this was cute. Bosnian people are very welcoming and accommodating. The price of my meal with drink was very reasonable. I'm also happy to see that this place survived the Covid shutdown. Interior is clean here as well. No dirty tables or chairs. There was a television in the upper corner of the dining room broadcasting a soccer match. Lovely to see this. This place is located in a small strip mall. It was also nice to see a steady flow of Bosnians entering and leaving the restaurant. I would love to dine here again if I ever return to Chicago. The menu also features various other Bosnia dishes. I recommend trying their burek. If you've never had Bosnian Food I recommend trying this place. You will be in for a real treat! Hope you enjoy!

My better half and I decided to try a new place. Bosnia Grill had good reviews so we decided to stop by. We were treated a very nice woman who I suspect is one of the owners. She was nice and very helpful explaining what the items were on the menu! There were so many sausages and pies (potato pies, meat pies, etc) on the menu. We got a potato pie and meat platter. The meat platter had many different savory sausages and their home made sour cream dipping sauce. Each type of sausage was absolutely amazing and true to the foods regional influences such as Austria and Turkey!!!! Absolutely delicious. The potato pie was amazing as well. The filling was good, but the crust is huge and done perfectly. It's soft in the inside of flaky on the outside. Under the sausages were wrinkled fries that have been soaking in the sausages' juices and were incredible. We didn't try the deserts in the fridge, but they looked authentic and delicious! We were very happy to stumble into this place! The service was friendly and fast. The dining room was clean. And the food was absolutely delicious! The price point wasn't bad at all either! This place is worth the trip and we will be back. '

Besides the space which is decorated in ethno- style and really looks interesting, I have to mention the food and to praise it. We took a mixed meat (even it says it is for 1 person, it is actually enough for 2) and it was good. The waitress was extremely kind and the food arrived fast. Would recommend!

Cevapi is so juicy and moist. It came out fresh! Man it was amazing. There was people coming out with trays of meat. This place is a gem. Cockta was not bad, less sweet Coca Cola.

Everything was super authentic and really delicious. I tried a few things very typical in Bosnia (Salty milk, Burek meat pie, Grilled meat platter). Although, the Kajmak cheese spread was really light in flavor, I typically prefer a stronger flavor. The space is really small with only a few tables available and their drinks only come in bottles/cans. I heard they do take reservations, so this could be an option if you want to guarantee a table. Other than that, super cute place. I'm definitely coming back here.

Went to Balkan Taste and we got their beef special and their pork tenderloin special. The spicy kajmak sauce on the tenderloin went so well with the way they grilled it, and the beef was hearty and delicious. Plenty of lepinja was served and it went so well with everything! The server I had was very nice, and made a great suggestion for one of the daily specials-pork tenderloin with Kaymac. I've never heard of that before (which was the reason to visit Balkan Taste-a new adventure in food!) kaymac was described as the top of the milk, and it reminded me of butter. But better! He also brought me a side of kaymac to have with my bread, and I knew I'd love the pork dish. It was indeed a home run, the sauce was super tasty. Also had beet salad , and a cream puff for dessert. I inhaled the cream puff too!!! I enjoyed the authentic/family atmosphere, and will surely be back. I'm picky about my food (I LOVE the "good stuff") everything I had tonight was outstanding. Thanks for an excellent meal and making me feel like a welcomed guest!!

This spot gets everything right-…read moreplenty of parking, fast and friendly service, elegant decor, big portions, and delicious food! Admittedly, I'm not an expert in Polish cuisine, but this restaurant has greatly increased my interest in trying more! Outside of the food, there's many things to like about this restaurant. The decor is nice and modern, and the presentation of the food is good for this price point. The restaurant is comfortable and good for sitting in for a while, with service that is extremely friendly. This reminds me of another excellent restaurant A Thousand Tales, where we are treated like family on every visit - even on the first visit there. It's very clear how proud the staff is of the restaurant and the food they serve, and they take the effort to explain the food to the diner. Fortunately, the food is just as good as it looks. I've been looking for food that's prepared from scratch with high quality ingredients that aren't reliant on heavy sauces, and this really hit the mark. Everything from the bread with herbs and butter to the delicious soups was prepared fresh and tasty. Similarly, with the chips and salsa - it was clear that this was homemade with a great flavor to match. Unsurprisingly, the pastor tacos were full of flavor, with a generous amount of slightly fatty pork, fresh cilantro, and onions served with fresh lime. These were some of the best tacos I've had in recent memory from any restaurant, and I am definitely a huge fan of the preparation (the sweetness of the pineapple juice perfectly matched the bold mix of spices). The sampler platter was also a great option which gave a mix of many different items. The goulash was delicious with the mushrooms and sautee pepper. The pierogis had the perfect firmness and delicious filling. The sausage was flavorful and juicy. The potato pancakes could've been a bit more crisp but the flavor was still good. The breaded pork schnitzel was tasty and had just the right amount of breading. Overall, definitely recommend going to this spot for anything that's looking for high quality made from scratch food at a reasonable price point. The great service and elegant interior is a bonus on top of a very enjoyable and filling meal.

Don't refuse the big portions of pita bread, when offered; the pita was warm and fluffy. The Serbian salad of tomatoes, onions, green peppers, and mild cheese , all ingredients marinated in a mild, clear sauce , was a meal that can be shared by two ( or more). My spouse had the marinated mushrooms with chicken , which was very flavorful; the accompanying fries were a joy to eat. I had the signature 'stew' , which went by a local name, with subliminal spices; also very good in quantity and quality. Said it's what they grew up with and they've not had better. The friend I was traveling with was on board so it's how we both ended up having Serbian in Chicago. Lots of parking. Small private lot. Street parking galore. It was a sleepy evening. There was only one party (of four) when we went in. I have to admit, I was skeptical. But the aroma wafting from the kitchen ... My friend and I shared everything. Generous portions. I stuffed myself beyond what I should have. But I couldn't get enough of the grilled meats and roasted vegetables. I could have eaten nothing but the lepinja and kajmak but putting them altogether was so tasty that I just kept eating and eating. The one woman show - she was awesome. Not much English but wasn't needed. She was so pleasant and welcoming and the barrier wasn't an issue - at least for me. As she was a one person team FOH, there were times I wondered if she was also in the back cooking as she would be gone here and there but would show up right when she was needed. I don't know of many Serbian restaurants here in SoCal but when I do (and remember that is), I'll definitely go and see if it compares. I just know it was an excellent meal on my last evening in Chicago for my summer road trip.
