Excellent all the way around. Great food, good value, clean and good service. Highly recommended.

I recently had gone to a get-together where the hosts had gotten catering from Pita Inn, thus, this review is strictly for their catering service and - of course - the food! Starting with the sides: hummus, baba ghanouj, sliced pita bread, and fattoush salad. All were equally delicious, with the stars being the baba ghanouj and the fattoush salad. There was also a great selection of proteins and main stars of the meal: falafel, beef shish kabobs, chicken tender, and kefta kabos. I tried a bit of everything and it was all SO GOOD! The meats were seasoned beautifully and were tender, the falafel wer crisp and flavorful, and all the sides were refreshing and delightful. I was definitely surprised at how good the meal experience was, as I tend to be quite picky when it comes to West Asian/Mid-Eastern food. Overall, Pita Inn was an EXCELLENT spot to cater from! There was a great variety of food and everything was DELICIOUS! read more

I stopped at this Pita Inn for an early lunch. It was an enjoyable meal. I remember eating at this location about a dozen years ago. They still make excellent food. I ordered the shawarma sandwich, falafels, and a Fatoush salad. The order was ready in record time, and was delicious. The pita bread was nice and fresh, and well stuffed with meat, lettuce, and tomato. I loved the falafels, and of course, the sauces were divine. I'm not out this way much anymore, but this is still a 5 star experience for me. read more

I was craving a sandwich but not an ordinary sandwich. I decided to go to Pita Inn and get a Falafel Sandwich! If you want a really good falafel sandwich, the best place to go to is Pita Inn. The staff is always friendly! And no matter how busy it gets, they have a good attitude and get the order correct b I ordered the sandwich, french fries and a small container of their garlic sauce. I took it to go. The sandwich comes with 3 falafels, lettuce and I top it off with their red spicy sauce and garlic. Every bite had a nice kick of spice and the garlic is creamy and has a not too overwhelming. The pita is good but just warmed, I'd love it if it was grilled or slightly fried over a flat top. The Falafel had a slight crispy and tenderness to it. Overall, I really love this place. And next time, I'll try the Impossible Kefta. read more

We have been here a few years ago and remember that the food was great so we decided to stop in tonight because we were in the area. My husband ordered the combination platter and it was filling and delicious. I ordered the lentil soup and two falafel and one kibbeh. Not many restaurants serve kibbeh anymore... I was so excited to see it on the menu! It was delicious! The line was long but it moved very quickly. We will definitely be back again! The restaurant is large and very clean! read more

Pita Inn - Kibbeh is great! Takes 15 minutes to make. - Mediterranean Near Me - Wheeling, Illinois

Is it me or they screwing us with the lunch special? They've raised the prices again and give you less food? I used to love pita inn but as they continue to grow any semblance of an owner operated restaurant vibe is gone. Just feels like a corporate upscale fast food money grab. Big thumbs down pita inn. read more

Yesterday I came to pick up my order. I ordered through their website. Oddly enough my order was to the Glenview location not the one in wheeling. Thankfully the cashier was able to make my order at the wheeling location instead. They have the best customer service and the ability to make my order relatively fast even though it was ordered to the wrong location. I was delighted by the items I got which were great portions and were delicious. The restaurant is fairly busy but they are great for take out. read more

I've grown up going to the Pita Inn in Skokie, but since moving to Wheeling this location is much more convenient. I often visit during lunch during the week and grab their business special lunch. It's such great deal for SO much food. It's enough for 2 meals and you get a little bit of everything. Once you walk in they have arrows on the ground still from the pandemic but it's actually super helpful when they get busy because it keeps folks in line. Once you get up to the counter and order, you let them know if you're dining in or ordering for carry out. The food comes up at the counter when your number is called and you're on your merry way. The food is great and consistent for the price. Fast and easy if you're in a rush, and the staff is great at communicating and getting you things you need. read more

I have been eating here for decades and can't remember a single inconsistent experience. Food is always the same, fresh cooked with simple but delicious flavors. They have good portions for great prices. The service is always on point and almost as consistent as their food! This is a good casual restaurant for dine in as well. They have a comfortable and welcoming ambiance that makes the overall experience pleasant. I particularly enjoy their grilled meats and salads. Absolutely must try their Kinafa for desert. read more

We live nearby and pick up dinner from Pita Inn regularly. Even when there are lines, service is quick and food is consistently good. Salads from here are a favorite of mine, as they contain more than standard offerings. Chicken, rice, falafel and hummus are also favorites. read more

I just got back from my first ever visit there for lunch. The person I was meeting said "let's meet at 11:30". Wow - I'm glad we did. The place seats about 70 people, if I had to guess, and by 12:15 (on a weekday) was completely full. If that doesn't tell you the food is good - I don't know what would. Open atmosphere - just a lot of tables in a room. Quite a few pita choices. Also several platters. Prices are low. read more

Pita Inn - Combination Feast, lentil soup and Chicken Shawarma (Side Order), Fries - Mediterranean Near Me - Wheeling, Illinois

Pita Inn, possibly the best mediterranean restaurant in Chicago suburbs. If this isn't on your usual palate, I highly recommend you experience it at least once in your life time. Ordering the pita and hummus is a MUST. The pita is served warm/mildly toasted and goes great with their variety of hummus choices. I normally stick with the regular hummus and you cannot go wrong with this. Their beef and chicken shawarma are full and flavor and incredibly fresh. We ordered the spicy chicken entree for the first time which had a powerful kick. The entrees come with rice which is VERY filling. Sandwich's are also incredible but don't come with rice unless requested. Also tried falafel for the first time EVER and was pleasantly surprised. This is a meatless option and tastes amazing. Crispy fried outside with warm filling, truly delicious. Overall, I love Pita Inn. Can you tell? We've been coming here for decades and their consistency and quality has stayed the same. read more

On the expressway on my way to visit family and noticed a Pita Inn as I was passing through Wheeling. Prior, I visited another Pita Inn location in Skokie, on several occasions for lunch and dinner. It had been years since I last ate there so I decided to check them out. After reviewing the menu, I noticed the same menu options as the other location. I ordered the Combo Plate, included shish kabob, shawarma, kifta kabob, grilled chicken and falafel with rice and a salad. The meal tasted just like I remember.....Delicious. The beef was cooked well and tender. The chicken was prepared with Mediterranean seasoning and spices. I was a huge plate, only enjoyed half, the rest I had taken to go. I didn't realize there was more than 1 Pita Inn location, glad I came across it. Yummy read more

Pita Inn is one of the most iconic restaurants in the Chicagoland area! There is literally no other hummus that compares to their hummus, and the pita bread they bake daily is also available at the Pita Inn Market... Thank GOD! Because if it weren't, getting it in tinfoil from the restaurant would be too infuriating! That being said, getting literally anything from the restaurant will be the best decision of your day! I highly recommend the falafel sandwiches both are delicious! While they have renovated, since my childhood... making the space far bigger (and much nicer and more inviting), beware there is always a huge line... but it's absolutely worth it! Do not skip the baklava! read more

If you ever ask my kids what they want for dinner their answer is always PITA INN! Great food at a fair price, what more can you ask for. The quality of food is great and is very consistent time and time again. I enjoy their fattoush salad with chicken. Great for ordering in when cooking is the last thing you want to do. Chicken Shwarma (sp?) is my favorite.

The greatest. Falafel of all time. Been coming here for years and still best. Amazing food. New nicely renovated spot

It was fine. I mean it's pita, falafel, tahini, etc. you really can't go wrong. I do like it as a basic healthy meal.

Updating my review in 2023! I see the orders are handled well now.. Great and delicious food! read more

This is a decent option for food - the servings are on the larger side so 2 entrees could be split between 3 people. Plenty of parking and not bad sitting outside while you eat. It's not the best I've ever had hence the average rating. Must use the sauces. read more

We have been going to Pita Inn for years and it has never disappointed us. It's one of the best Middle Eastern food you will find in the suburbs. They have many locations with the original one being in Skokie. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. They are taking all the necessary precautions for Covid. Everyone serving, taking orders are wearing a mask. You order your food at the counter, pay, and when it's ready they will call your number to pick up. Their menu is extensive. They have plenty of vegetarian as well as non vegetarian options. One of their best features is the lunch special. For $7.99 you can get vegetarian lunch special, chicken lunch special or business lunch special. The Vegetarian lunch special includes hummus, salad, vegetarian grape leaves, rice and 3 falafels. The chicken lunch special has two pieces of chicken breast, 2 falafels, rice, and salad. The business lunch special includes the most items which includes beef kefta, beef kabobs, shwarma, 1 falafel, rice and salad. All business lunch special and other items on their menu comes with tahini sauce, hot sauce and pita bread. Their hot sauce is AMAZING if you like hot sauces. Business lunch special is only available from 11-3pm. We have had their business lunch special many times and it has always been tasty and fresh. We have also gone during other times where business lunch is not available and ordered off their full menu. From baba ghanouj, to hummus, to lentil soup, to shwarma sandwiches to dinner plate entrees. You have plenty of options to choose from. Other items from their menu that has stood out is their lamb kefta and impossible meat kefta. This time I tried the spicy chicken shawarma and that was ok. It could have used a little more spice and salt. Overall though, you really can't go wrong ordering anything in this place. They cater to all taste and dietary needs. We will continue to come here to get fresh and delicious Middle Eastern food. Do give this place a try if you have not. read more

Consistent from location to location. Be alert. They make jokes from time to time at the register. A regular Ed Debevic with tahini. Don't let them catch you off guard. I always get the same. Veggie combo- full of hummus, egg plant, and falafel. Tasty Salads to push it all thru and some stuffed grape leaves. Then the combo feast. Beef, lamb, chicken, falafel rice and salad. Add some extra pita bread, a home-made lemonade and a minty iced tea or two and my family is fed. Clean tables. Friendly service. Always busy so the food is fresh. A true gem of the North Side Suburbs. I hear the hummus is at Costco??? Big time!! read more

I'm a huge fan of this location. Honestly, each Pita Inn location is fairly consistent and I haven't experienced much of a difference at other locations (e.g., Glenview, Skokie). Since I live closest to this Wheeling location, I mainly come here. My favorite is the chicken tender entree that comes with a salad and a generous portion of yellow rice. For the prices, you do get a really good amount of chicken which is not something I can see nowadays about most takeout spots in the area. Additionally, the hot sauce they have is phenomenal. I also enjoy their chicken shawarma and kefta kebobs. This is definitely one of my favorite middle eastern restaurants we have in the suburbs. Would recommend to anyone looking for a new takeout place to try. Hummus is also very good! read more
