    Crab Rangoon and Pina colada

Heng Wing Restaurant is hands down one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time! The Crab Rangoon is out of this world--crispy on the outside, creamy and flavorful on the inside, easily the best I've ever tasted. And don't even get me started on the Piña Colada--smooth, perfectly balanced, and refreshingly tropical. I honestly didn't expect to find a drink this good outside a beach resort! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the service is fast and friendly, and everything I tried was fresh and full of flavor. If you're anywhere near the area, do yourself a favor and stop by. I'll definitely be coming back again and again.

When we walked in we were treated with a full bar and excellent service. Got the "dinner for two" deal for $55. Included hot tea, two soups, two egg rolls, two bbq ribs, sweet and sour chicken, beef broccoli, roast pork fried rice, fortune cookies and almond cookies. SO much food. And everything was pretty good. Great spot if you're looking for a cheap date night and the good old fashioned American Chinese food experience.

Heng Wing: What A Spectacular Return. I'm back in! And here's why. As many of us know, there was an ownership turnover a few years back. Like many others in these reviews, I was not impressed at the time. Subsequently, I had stayed away from Heng Wing for quite some time but finally decided to give it another shot, just to see if those eggrolls I remembered were truly gone forever. To my astonishment, everything is spectacular once again. Our family had been regulars here since the 1980s. So we're very familiar with what it was, in order to compare it to what it is now. Frankly, this is about as close as you're going to get to the old-style Cantonese cuisine that so many of us have grown to love. As soon as we sat down, we were immediately served a pot of tea. When we ordered for the table, we chose our traditional Dinner for Four, which included: * Wonton Soup or Egg Drop Soup, * Assorted appetizers such as Egg Rolls, Bar-B-Q Ribs, and Cantonese Fried Shrimp. Of course, I had to be the "wrench in the spokes" and ordered a Hot & Sour Soup, which wasn't part of the dinner. However, the waitress kindly allowed the substitution. Something not typically done. Which I greatly appreciated. On that note, the Hot & Sour Soup was outstanding: packed with ingredients, full of flavor, and absolutely top-tier. When the appetizers arrived, I finally got to enjoy the egg rolls I'd been craving for so long. It's hard to find egg rolls like these anymore: old-school, crispy, crunchy on the outside, and HOT, chewy, and stuffed with deliciousness on the inside. While the taste was just slightly different from what I remember, it was still 95% of what I was expecting. The barbecued ribs were equally delightful. So incredibly tender and flavorful that I'll definitely return for more. And the mustard. Oh, that mustard! It was so hot, it must have been freshly made that morning. The vapors shot up my nose and paralyzed my brain for a moment, making my eyes flutter like I had just been punched in the nose. It was fantastic! The main course for the Dinner for Four included: * Beef Kow: Incredibly tender, velveted beef in a rich, savory brown gravy with bok choy. * Sweet & Sour Pork: Swimming in a glossy, sweet sauce with pineapple and green peppers. * Shrimp with Lobster Sauce: My favorite. A savory, rich brown sauce with black beans, featuring delicious, plump shrimp that had a satisfying snap. * Chicken with Broccoli: Tender slices of chicken breast and perfectly cooked broccoli that was vibrant green and crisp, all in a light white sauce. * Roast Pork Fried Rice: Moist, not dry, with pork strips, scallions, and vegetables like carrots and bean sprouts. Simply the best fried rice I've had in such a long time. Everything was absolutely mouthwatering, flavorful, and flawless. We finished the meal with the traditional fortune cookies and almond cookies, which provided a nostalgic end to the meal. The portions were enormous. With the four of us, we Barely made a dent in it it, so of course we took everything home. The leftovers turned into another dinner for four the next day. And I even got another serving or two after that! In all, we enjoyed nearly 10 meals from that Dinner for Four. So, Yes. As with everywhere I go, Prices have increased (inflation ), but they more than make up for it with the quantity and quality of the food. We were seated immediately for lunch, and the wait staff was incredibly accommodating and friendly. Everything was served timely, piping hot, and with clean, cutlery and a full assortment condiments. Conclusion: I'm so happy we decided to go back. Just when I had written this off as another beloved restaurant lost to time, Heng Wing has come back and completely redeemed itself for me. The food was fantastic, the service was excellent, and it brought back so many great memories. I couldn't be happier. Rating: 4 1/2 stars. There wasn't a single thing we were unhappy with.

Most of what we get is good, but the shining star, for me, is their delicious crispy spring rolls. Willing to drive to pick these up!

Honestly their quality of food has gone down hill. I wouldn't really recommend this place for the amount of money it costs. Unfortunate.

If i have peanut and tree nut allergies, can i order food from this restaurant?

I don't have this allergy however I am certain that Heng Wing would certainly accommodate your request. They are an iconic local business and are a very pleasant, professional family business. Best egg rolls in the world by the way.... :-)

My wife, her mom, and I were in Chicago to remember my father-in-law's death anniversary, and my sister-in-law chose Chef Ping's, for our party of nine for a Wednesday lunch. Parking is plentiful and the dining area can seat a lot. We got seated at a large round table in the back room, with a large lazy susan (just need to remember to spin it very slowly). We ordered a lot, and the food came out slowly. There was plenty of leftovers for the local folks to have for future meal or two. 3 Shrimp Toast (6 pieces each) - $26.85 - greasy but good, with the shrimp paste being a little sweet (in a good way) Noodle in Black Bean Sauce ($12.50) - this is jja jang myeon, which two of us had the previous night. It was OK, not near the top of the best I've had. Ping's Noodle Soup ($15.50) - the other classic Chinese-Korean dish, this is jjampong, a dish I've had many times. I was the only one to eat it, so ended up being my main dish. It was good, with thick noodles...just wish it had more seafood. Salt & Pepper Smelt ($16.90) - not sure if always available, but this was excellent...my favorite dish and one that I finished once I realized that everybody had their fill. It really depends on the quality of the smelt, which was excellent in this case. It was lightly battered, and carefully deep fried. Other dishes enjoyed by others: 2 Salt & Pepper Prawns - $35.90 - large head-on shell-on prawns fire wokked. Salt & Pepper Tofu ($11.50) - for the vegetarians Chicken Skewers (4) - $8.75 - tender and shareable Walnut Shrimp ($19.90) - mayo with shrimp Young Chow Fried Rice ($12.50) - fried rice is a necessity for our group Mongolian Beef ($17.50) - a classic 2 Sesame Ball (4) - $7 - a great way to finish a meal. 18% tip was automatically added, and service was OK throughout. Our water was kept refilled, and I think hot water was as well. It was a good meal and opportunity to get back together

Both the service and quality of food has gone way down from what they were famous for. The waitress spilled my tea, also dipped her finger in my tea, had no apology or offer to exchange it with a fresh cup. I had to ask her for a fresh cup of tea. Then the other server that brought our entrees spilled my husbands tea and again no offering to getting a fresh cup. We had to ask AGAIN for a fresh cup! While the portions were generous, the quality of all the food has gone way down. The special family recipe of thier shrimp dish Gan Pong is nothing but fried shrimp with dried chili peppers and no flavor. The Hunan spicy beef and chicken appeared to be all globs and sticky because of excessive and over use of corn starch used during the cooking process. This dish didn't have any unique flavor that one would expect. Previously we had experienced a difference in the food, taste and quality and that's what kept us returning. Sadly, after this experience I wouldn't recommend it to anyone or come back! I'd rather stick with Yu's Mandarin than drive to this place! Quality always wins over quantity in my books!

It's been a tough lately since our go to place changed ownership and the quality declined. Hong Kong Restaurant is a small, family owned restaurant in the same strip mall as the Ace Hardware. It's a take out only restaurant, no tables and no seating. The lady is so nice. I called ahead asking how her General Tso's was made with brown sauce or if it was an orange type of sauce. She gave me a good description and mentioning it had some spice to it, but not offensive. It was exactly what my husband wanted. It wasn't overly breaded and the sauce was sweeter, savory with a little heat. He was a happy man. The fried rice had plenty of chicken and cooked well. The portions were huge! I also ordered beef and broccoli Cantonese chow mein. This was delicious! There was so much beef and broccoli, the sauce wasn't salty and went perfect with the chow mein noodles. We ordered egg rolls and crab rangoons too. Both we were good. The wrapper was a little thicker than I prefer, but they were both good. I'm looking forward to trying other dishes on their menu like their egg foo yung. No pics ... hungry teenaged boys dove into the food right away.

We ordered from Thai House Restaurant! I was in the mood for some Tom Yum Veggie Soup and Pad See-Iew. We also ordered Hawaiian Chicken and Fried Rice. For starters we had Mee Krob and Fried Vegetarian Won Ton. The Mee Krob is one of my favorites. The sweet and sour sauce mixed with crispy rice noodles topped with fried tofu is really good. And the fried veggie won ton has a perfectly seasoned tofu stuffed inside. The Tom Yum Veggie Soup had that yummy tang that hit the spot. The veggies still had a nice crunch to them. The Pad-See-Iew was sweet but not too sweet. What I really love are the veggies and the smoked / charred taste to them. It's like the wok has years and years of seasoning embedded in it. So good, The Hawaiian chicken was cooked just right. It was not dry and was very juicy and it was great with the fried rice. I've never eaten inside the restaurant as we tend to order on lazy Sundays. Every time I order take out, from here, the food is ready with the time promised.
