Food is fine although a little bland likely to suit the American palate. Watch what you're eating...many reviews about things in the food. I but into what I think us plastic in my chicken & vegetable dinner special. Kids ordered & ate the beef & pea pods but they're both in a major growth spirt. Husband ordered the "house special mei fun" and enjoyed it as did the kids. I found it very salty without enough protein (chicken, beef and tiny shrimp). My friends and I ordered food to go from here because it's my friend's typical place to get Chinese food, and it did not disappoint. Because we did not eat inside the restaurant, this review is solely based on the food and not the service nor the restaurant itself because I did not pick up the food myself. We all ended up ordering different things, but all 6 of us enjoyed what we ordered. I ordered the Szechwan beef dinner, and it was delicious! It came with fried rice and an egg roll and was only $9.65, which isn't bad at all for all the food I got! The dish was spicy and included fresh veggies inside, and the eggroll was so crispy. Honestly, it was one of the best Chinese food meals I've ever consumed. I will say, this meal was hard to reheat because I had some the next day, and it was hard to heat the beef again without making it dried out and gross. Everything else from the meal turned out great the next day, though! My husband ordered just chicken fried rice and an eggroll and thoroughly enjoyed that, too. Overall, I would 100% come back here and do recommend others to try! P.S. I'm not sure where they get their fortune cookies from, but we got 8 in our bag, and my friend opened one with no fortune, so we gave her another one, and that one had no fortune either. I'm going to qualify this by stating that the reason I ordered from here is that they deliver to the Airport Hilton. Not many places do. I also had high hopes because the Egg Rolls said they had Pork, Shrimp and Peanut Butter. If any of you reading this grew up in Chicago you know what a really good Egg Roll tastes like. Well, on that they did not deliver. The skin was the proper skin. But the pork was ground pork (wrong) and if it had shrimp in there it was pretty well hidden. Peanut butter, maybe just the slightest hint. I'll take a pass on the egg rolls. I got the lunch special that included the egg roll and fried rice. Just your basic fried rice. Not the BBQ pork fried rice most of us old natives have come to know and love. As a safe go to I got the tomato pepper beef. It was bland. It should have had some fermented bean paste in there but no, just a brown soy based sauce thickened with cornstarch. Ok but not what I would return for. I'm not sure if there really is anything in the way of what I used to know as some great Chinese restaurants that were on most every block when I was growing up. Most have closed because their kids are all doctors are scientists. It's not bad, just not great. I have had worse. A lot worse. The service, delivery time was great. Less than 30 minutes from order to the curb. Also you can and probably should call them directly instead of ordering from an app. I used the link on yelp and they called me to verify my info. And unlike many Asian restaurants you call from airport hotels the person on the phone was as fluent in English as most Chicagoans. There was plenty of meat, and the sauce and noodles were okay. Beef Chop Suey for her, she said it was alright but not great. Both of us received a lot of food for the money. Overall it was average. It was my first time ordering from Lins. I read the reviews and thought I'd give it a try. I ordered BBQ pork fried rice and a dish that had beef chicken and shrimp. The portions were big but the food was bland. The fired rice lacked flavor and the other dish was an mis match of vegetables and meat. I don't think I'd order from them again. read more

Ordered for pick pickup so this review is solely on food not service or inside. First time trying this place after moving to the area and it was tasteless. 1. The egg foo young had no veggies in the rice just the egg. The gravy was a cheap flavor. It was cooked fine, but no flavor to it. 2. The kung pao chicken was ordered spicy and it had nothing to do that, not even the red chilis. Again cooked fine, but tasted bland. Also at one point when I bit into the chicken, a piece had slimy cartilage. I know they use chicken breast, so they didn't properly examine their pieces. Overall the food was decent. We ordered the General Tso chicken, sesame chicken, and orange chicken. We also ordered the crab Rangoon and pot stickers. The chicken meals were all pretty good, but kind of tasted similar. Everything seemed to reheat decently for leftovers. Unfortunately, one of the last potstickers I was eating looks like it had some sort of plastic bag remnant mixed in with the meat. My review is based eating here more than 3 times. I met a friend for dinner on a rainy Sunday evening. The restaurant was busy with customers dining inside. I had chicken with broccoli, wonton soup, 1 egg roll and complimentary hot tea. All for only $8 (dinner specials are listed on the back of their menu). Your choice of steamed white rice or fried rice. Your choice of egg drop soup or wonton soup. You can request lower-sodium in your food which I always request. The wonton soup is good but nothing spectacular. I have also tried the Beef Szechuan which is very tasty. The beef is very tender and flavorful. The beef and green peppers dish and Mongolian beef with onions are both very, very good. TIP: Let them know you don't want tons of onions in your food, because they are very heavy-handed with onions. Don't expect friendly service or service with a smile here. Some of the employees do not speak English or understand English very well. I was trying to explain something to our server. I quickly realized she did not understand a word I was saying. She called over another young lady who spoke broken English but understood my request. The restaurant has been at this location more than 15 years. Same owner for more than 10 years. He is a hard-working man who is always at the restaurant. This is a mom & pop family owned restaurant. At the end of your meal almond cookies and fortune cookies are brought to the table along with your check. Although the restaurant was busy, on a very rainy Sunday evening, we didn't feel rushed to leave. BYOB. Free parking. The restaurant is located in a strip mall. You will see a Chase Bank, Dunkin Donuts, Mediterranean restaurant, Subway, Elly's Pancakes, a nail salon and LifeSource in this particular strip mall. It is located on the west side of Cumberland Ave., a half block south of Foster Ave. One of my pet peeves is going to a restaurant with wall-2-wall carpeting. I can only imagine the amount of filth buried in the carpet. This restaurant should consider a major renovation or update. It is very outdated. If I had a choice I would prefer to order food for "takeout" instead of eating inside this very dismal and depressing restaurant. read more

Biggest and best egg rolls around, plus their pot stickers come in 8 not 6 like everyone else. Very good fried rice, not greasy like a lot of other restaurants. General Tso chicken is fantastic however their Orange chicken is not. They serve the best Chinese food in the area in my opinion, so I definitely recommend trying them out if your hungry for Chinese. Also order straight from them so they don't get charged a grub hub fee. I don't know if they deliver because I go pick my food up myself. It's the fastest way to get your food. read more

I ordered takeout and it was unfortunately throw out! We had Shrimp Fried Rice and Pad Thai Beef. Both dishes were plain and lacked flavor. The Shrimp tasted extra fishy which makes me believe they were spoiled or very near. The beef tasted low quality (and I don't expect much from the average Chinese places around me). Both dishes did not taste seasoned and we gad to cover them in sauce. Unfortunately the Sweet and Sour my wife used also tasted stale. The same was true with the Egg Rolls. I am new to this area and this place is conveniently located less than a block from me. The downside to this is it's during the pandemic so I give restaurants a little slack as we are all making shifts to run our businesses. The one thing I like about this place is they are swift with having your order ready. The changes made to accommodate COVID/Social Distancing is, you can't enter the restaurant. You must wait in the hallway to place or pick-up your order. From an employee standpoint, it's cool because you are safe from any interaction with customers, I get it. From a customer, there isn't much room to social distance unless you stand outside. Their food is good, I've never personally experienced bad Chinese Food tho. The only real gripe I have about this place is they cheat you out of shrimp when I order shrimp and noodles, they give you only 4 shrimp. Also, they are a bit pricey. read more

Worst restaurant EVER! Told them I was delivered the wrong dish. Initial order was taken by a man. When I called to say I received the wrong order, I spoke with a woman. She asked me what was the issue and I said I ordered Szechuan chicken and got Hunan chicken instead. She asked why I didn't like it and I said I do not like the Hunan chicken because it is all vegetables and not spicy like the Szechuan that has the red pepper pods that are stir fried with the chicken. I specifically told her I know the difference between the two dishes because I only like the spicy peppers and NOT vegetables. She said she would bring me a new order and take back the order delivered to me. When she arrived, she wanted to see what was originally delivered to me. I showed her and she told me that she brought me the same exact thing because that's how they make Szechuan chicken. I told her that's not the way they make it in China or other Chinese restaurants and she said, "Were not Chinese, this is America and it's not Chinese." I asked her why would you bring me the same exact thing when I said I do NOT like the vegetables and it wasn't spicy. She called me, STUPID, and walked away. 30 seconds later, the man from Lin's, (owner? manager?), calls and yells at me for not talking to him when there was a problem with my order. He said the woman was the driver, (how would I know this? she didn't answer the phone saying she was the driver and don't talk to me.) I asked him why didn't she transfer the phone to him if she wasn't allowed to speak with customers. He then proceeded to tell me that I am a STUPID girl because I should have known only to talk to him and no one else...WOW! Again, wow. This man treated me horribly and called me names.
