We had General Tso's chicken, BBQ fried rice, shrimp fried rice, crab rangoons, and vegetable lo mein. The vegetable lo mein was a standout--flavorful, well-seasoned, and really delicious. The crab rangoons were also tasty and nicely crisp. The General Tso's chicken had good flavor, but the pieces were very large, which made them a bit harder to eat and less balanced with the sauce. It was off putting to me. The fried rice was okay overall, but it felt a bit plain. It could have used more ingredients mixed in--especially more egg--to give it more flavor and texture. read more

Li Hing serves fairly good Cantonese style food. However, the service was poor on my last visit to this restaurant. They seem to do more takeout orders than dine-in. Pickup service was extremely slow. I had placed my order at 5:35pm and was told it would be ready in 25 minutes. I arrived at 6:00pm to find people using their dining tables to wait on their pickup order. I heard a lot of cooking going on in the kitchen, but not a lot of food was flowing out. It was about 6:30pm when I questioned why it was taking an hour and after threatening to cancel my order, it was miraculously ready within 5 minutes. I have a lot of patience, but waiting an excess of 30 minutes over the estimated time is unreasonable. I guess my first clue that there was a problem was that they didn't answer the phone until after a 3rd attempt when I tried to place my order. Thinking they were extremely busy, I noticed they weren't really busy at least to answer the phone while I was sitting there waiting for my order. They just simply let the phone ring. This could have been a way for them to slow down the orders and get the kitchen to catch up. I don't think that is a good strategy to run a successful restaurant. Food: 3/5. Service: 1/5. read more

This place is bogus, I'll never order here again. My house is 2.7 miles from their restaurant & on their website & takeout menu it clearly says delivery up to 3 miles. It's never been an issue & they've delivered to me a bunch of times over the years. Albeit it's cutting it close to the 3 miles, I still live within the range. Tonight was a problem. I called in to place an order & some guy answered the phone. After taking my order, he suddenly says he can't deliver to me, that I live too far. I told him I've had food delivered multiple times, he still said no. Confused, I asked if he could just charge me an extra fee for gas bc surely there's a mistake, he still said no. We were craving Chinese, and after trying a close by another Chinese place that we didn't really care for, we decided we wanted to try a new place. I drive by Li Hing all the time, and finally decided to check them out. I've definitely been missing out and not really sure why it took me this long. The guy that took our order was very nice and welcoming and got our order done very quickly. Their prices are fair, a little on the high end, but worth every penny. You'll definitely get full. We ordered their Orange Chicken dinner special and and order of their BBQ Pork Ali Mein. The orange chicken was so flavorful and one of the best I've had in a long time. I know orange chicken is not authentic, but that doesn't mean it can't taste good! It was sweet and came with some heat that sneaks up on you and It was served with fried rice which of course made it very filling. The Lo mein was amazing. Overall give it 4 stars for a takeout spot. In terms of Chinese food overall, it's just okay but it's affordable. Some stuff I've tried is kind of bland, like the fried rice which doesn't taste like anything besides soy sauce. We ordered on Sunday June 9, pot stickers / egg rolls / crab rangoon / shrimp fried rice / pad thai chicken. The pot stickers had way way too thick of a dough, the fried stuff just wasn't very good, the pad thai had an off taste and smell we couldn't identify so threw it away. This location appeared as a recommendation here on Yelp. I bookmarked. Truthfully, I have walked past this location several times during my walks around the belmont and central area. At times from the outside it looked closed. But with the recommendation, I did my research. So yesterday, I stopped in. The location is very clean. Friendly staff, greeted when I entered. Currently, they are not offering dine in service, take out only. I ordered from the lunch special. Very well prepared portions. The fact that steamed rice or fried rice options offered. I went with the fried rice and hot and sour soup. The shrimp is a good size. The kung pao shrimp is good and with a perfect amount of spice. I am looking forward to giving the rest of the menu a sample. I am glad I stopped in. Definitely a hidden gem. The prices are decent with perfect portions. A few days ago hubby out of nowhere started singing the Siamese cat song from "Lady and the Tramp." "We are Siamese if you please...We are Siamese if you don't please." Umm...I suddenly wanted some Chinese food, but the store-bought lasagna was already in the oven. I did a brief Yelp search and found "Li Hing," near northeast intersection of Menard and Belmont. Today we executed our dinner plan and ordered for pickup via Yelp Eat24. The food was ready when hubby arrived onsite in less than ten (10) minutes! Wow, it was quite speedy. He literally started walking toward the restaurant after I placed the order online. In addition, I was surprised by the portion of each entree. There will be at least three (3) more meals with what we've got this evening: - shrimp and wonton ($6.25): flavor of the broth was acceptable. Shrimps were visible and appeared fresh. - beef lo mein ($8.25): the portion was generous and could easily be split into two (2) meals. - salt and pepper squid ($11.50): it was delicious and would be saved on my "re-order" list. I probably would go with "spicy" instead of "mild" next time. - ma po tofu ($7.25): It was slightly bland. I had a high expectation on this dish since it was one of Mama J.'s specialities. Well, I'm sorry to say that I will be crossing this out on the menu. Very torn in my opinion in of tholis place. We ordered delivery and it came quickly with everything we ordered, no issue. Price is also reasonable for what we ordered. Food wise our order lacked any main dishes, with us being sick. We had Chinese chicken noodle soup, wonton soup, pot stickers, and chicken fried rice. So we cant speak for this main menu items. Everything we got was very good in flavor. Other than the sauce for the potstickers, we enjoyed the taste of everything. Our issue was with the quality of the meat used in our food. There was so many knotty cartilage pieces of chicken. Multiple in both soups and in the chicken fried rice(which has some large pieces of chicken in it). The posltstickers also had cartilage in them I had to spit out mouthfuls of two of them because of cartilage in the filling. If they're was better quality mean being used we would make this place a regular. Currently, we will five another change, but we will see. read more

This place was awesome just a year ago. My last two visits had pests in the food. Looked the other way the first time, but today couldn't really do that. Finding a fly in your food isn't what we look forward to when ordering food. My only other gripe was that the tables were sticky. There is multiple people behind the counter. We order huge amounts so we can have leftovers- but despite the generous portions it is too delicious to last long. We eat them for breakfast, lunch and dinner til completely gone in 1-2 days. Good quality Chinese delivery. I tried this place on a whim last Sunday and was pleasantly surprised! We got the egg rolls, general tao's chicken, beef vermicelli and pot stickers. Total was about $35. Originally it was for 2 of us, but ended up having some people over and fed 5 of us to the brim. The pot stickers were great - almost homemade.
