Standard American Chinese food. Eggrolls were just OK, next time I try the spring rolls. I ordered the Kung pow chicken. I would've preferred more gravy on it and more vegetables. The place is big and clean but the seating is a bit awkward. The staff is nice. I wanted dim sum and they had a big menu for it. I didn't understand why they had different sizes with different pricing for each size until the items came out! Like the sui mai, pan fired potstickers were medium size and the rest other than the sesame balls were large. I don't think I have ever had any of the items as big or as stuffed as these were. Everything tasted great! Every item was flavorful. We barely had to use the sauces other than to enhance the flavors of the items. Even the jasmine tea was fragrant and tasted the way it smelled. I've been looking for a good dim sum spot not in Chinatown and this place definitely hits the mark. I highly recommend the BBQ pork turnover, which was flaky and filled with just the right amount of sweetness and savory flavor. It's a puff pastry with bbq pork and this was my favorite out of all the dim sum dishes ordered. Their lunch special is a solid price (for today's standards). There's a specific section on the menu that list the dishes included with the lunch special and includes rice (except for noodle dishes), appetizer, and drink. The service was friendly and efficient. Flavors are good and nothing is too salty or not salty enough. I really liked the noodle dishes we ordered. My wife, teenage son (15 years), and I enjoyed a casual dim sum dinner in July 2023. D Cuisine has a nice location on Clark Street in Lincoln Park. We were looking for an informal dinner that would be quick. Lots of pluses here. First, the service is prompt and attentive (almost too rushed). Second, the shrimp dim sum was excellent along with the steamed buns and Chinese greens with garlic. I think the dim sum dumplings are the way to go here. Everything was barely warm so a big write down for that. the got was decent but cold. The bao was surprisingly good not a lot of fat that you find in some. (Since I lived in the Bay Area for 35 years, these don't come close to the ones there.) The ribs were barely edible. Almost all bones and fat and gristle. A total waste of money. The crab roll was a meh. I had to order the Beef chow fun. It was okay. No where near the Sun Wah version. I'm used to lots of gravy and chewy noodles. Even more soy sauce didn't help. It's a common theme for good authentic Chinese restaurants to have good food but looks rundown or unsanitary/old. However the interior here is clean and modern. The lighting immediately welcomes you along with the comfortably spaced seating. They start you with complimentary warm tea. We ordered a good mix of dim sum (served all day) and main dishes. 1. Pan fried taro cake 2. Steamed ribs 3. Causeway bay style squid 4: Mushroom/mustard green/tofu casserole 5. Custard Bun Everything was so delicious!! They have the best steamed ribs dim sum dish I've ever had... their secret is they put taro with their steamed ribs, giving it a sweet and savory soup base. The pan fried taro is amazing - it is made with minced protein (I think it was pork but can't remember). Another dish that blew my mind was the causeway bay style squid. It was fried to perfection - airy yet crispy... topped with minced garlic and peppers. We can easily eat one more plates of this, so addicting. The casserole pot was also wonderful and a great way to eat your vegetables. We ended our meal with the custard buns as the desserts. I prefer custard buns that have creamy fillings that drips. The custard bun here is just average but still good. This meal was so memorable. We would definitely drive out of our way to eat here again next time we're in Chicago!! read more

There's not a lot for vegetarians but there's a few without any meat. Get here at lunch and try something from the limited choices. It was lunch when we came in. There wasn't anyone else in here and it was extremely quiet. It only had a pretty small menu with only a few things to choose from. The only thing vegetarian was the Stuffed Bean Curd Skin. It's only about $3.50 for a few. These were stuffed with baby corn, bean sprouts, carrots, and mushrooms. On the outside, the bean curd skin was kind of tough but it has a nice crispness. While it wasn't much, it still was a nice little meal at lunch or for whenever you aren't hungry. For now they're only serving limited dim sum options so it's good if you're not that hungry. It would be good to come back when they have more items. That could be who even knows. read more

It was $10 and came with white rice, either an egg roll or Crab Rangoon. I usually order egg rolls at other Chinese restaurants so I thought about changing it up a bit by ordering a crab rangoon this time. You get a lot of food for $10. The orange chicken was crispy on the outside and had plenty of sauce. The sauce was sweet and It had just a tiny bit of heat for flavor but nothing too crazy. I know orange chicken is not really authentic Chinese, but I still like to order this. I kind of like to judge a restaurant but how they make their orange chicken. There are some places out there that seem to get it wrong, not here though. I'll definitely be back to check out that Dim Sum menu. read more

Meals come with a delicious pot of jasmine black tea, and lunch specials are very reasonably priced. We sampled a variety of Dim Sum.
