D Cuisine is a solid spot for dim sum if you're craving some bite-sized goodness without the trek all the way to Chinatown. I've been looking for a good dim sum spot not in Chinatown and this place definitely hits the mark. The dim sum selection is extensive...from steamed dumplings to crispy spring rolls, they've got all the classics and then some. I highly recommend the BBQ pork turnover, which was flaky and filled with just the right amount of sweetness and savory flavor. It's a puff pastry with bbq pork and this was my favorite out of all the dim sum dishes ordered. Their lunch special is a solid price (for today's standards). There's a specific section on the menu that list the dishes included with the lunch special and includes rice (except for noodle dishes), appetizer, and drink. The service was friendly and efficient. I'll definitely be coming back, especially since it's so much closer than heading all the way to Chinatown. If you're in the area, this is a good new dim sum spot to check out!

We came for dim sum but was pleasantly surprised to find they do a lunch special. We ordered: - Black Bean Sauce & Pepper Chicken - Congee w. Pork & Preserved Egg - Steamed Spare Ribs - Chiu Chow Dumplings - Crabmeat Wrap w. Seaweed The dim sum was good and I'm usually not a fan of congee, but this was pretty good. Definitely recommend coming in for lunch.

Decided to try this place out after hearing good things about their dim sum. Unfortunately, none of the dishes really stood out to me--though if I had to pick a favorite, it would be the steamed BBQ pork bun. It had a good amount of meat and was moist. We ordered a variety of items including dumplings, curry short ribs, chicken feet, and beef tripe. The service, however, was very slow. Despite the restaurant not being busy at the time, our server never checked on us--not even to take our order or bring the check. The pricing was fair, but given the overall experience, I think I'll stick to Chinatown for dim sum.

Good all around. Nice to have a neighborhood dim sum place. Added a photo of the hot & spicy chicken because there wasn't a photo I could see, and the menu had no description. It was basically sautéed chicken (no breading) with lots of garlic and onions. Wasn't spicy hot, more like spices of Five spice? We also like the orange chicken (wasn't too sweet) and the pan fried noodles.

Absolutely amazing dim sum spot in Lincoln park, reasonable prices, with very fast and friendly service. We got the salt and pepper shrimp (shell on) which was outstanding. The General Tsao was better than any other in the area. A common dish done very well. The dim som amazing. The egg custard buns were great for finishing out the meal! Hot and sweet! Nice clean modern finishes, I will be coming back for these shrimps

Great service. Easy to reserve and plenty of seating types for different group sizes. Great for large parties too. Food comes piping hot. They also have a rotating seasonal menu. Flavors are good and nothing is too salty or not salty enough. I really liked the noodle dishes we ordered. There were a couple dishes that I didn't expect to come out deep fried since the name was unclear if it was deep fried or stir fried. The West Lake Beef soup was a huge portion. Some people felt it had too much black pepper but I enjoyed it. A great place to come for large groups that want to share many dishes.

Food: Doesn't showcase any particular region's accent yet it can be homey enough for a quick dinner or takeout. Not too oily which is always appreciated in a Chinese restaurant. Ordered some dim sum, soup, fried rice, sautéed veggie and sautéed beef. My friend said the fried rice lacked flavor but it was ok for me, although not too many scallop. The soup was the best part for me. Sautéed veggies are expensive, more than meat Service: good and attentive! Loved the tea. Ambience: kind of like small mom and pop shop.

Shrimp dumplings, bbq pork buns, soup dumplings

My bf and I loved getting dim sum here!! There were so many options. The bbq pork turnovers (not pictured) were the very best, which we had never had before. Food came out quick. We'll be back.

For I am not worthy enough to eat here. This dim sum place actually tops any other dim sum place that I have been to before. I went into this place with no expectations, especially no expectations for the dim sum, as it seems more like a Chinese take out place but boy oh boy..... The softest ribs I have ever eaten. I cannot say more for you must discover for yourself. Go along my friend and enjoy...

Dim sum here was really solid. The shrimp and chive dumplings had a ton of flavor, and the steamed buns were soft and filled with sweet BBQ pork. I appreciated how nothing tasted overly greasy. We ordered a bunch of small plates and everything came out pretty quickly. The restaurant had a clean and casual feel. Our server was polite and made sure our tea was always refilled. A good spot for a relaxed dim sum meal.

Authentic Chinese food at D Cuisine in Lincoln Park! We were trying to find a restaurant in the Armilage area and ended up at D Cuisine. Food: 5/5 At D Cuisine, we have tried some of their signature Salt Baked Chicken, XO Sauce Shrimp and Scallops, Steam Beef Balls, and comforting Hot and Sour Soup. Each dish was a testament to the skill and craftsmanship of the kitchen. Drinks: 5/5 Hot tea is served when we sit, the jasmine tea is good, and it's good to have it in cold weather. Service: 5/5 Despite the bustling crowd, the staff at D Cuisine provided attentive and efficient service, ensuring that our dining experience was seamless and enjoyable. Ambiance: 5/5 We have been waiting for couple minutes for the table. During our time there, we Immersed in the lively ambiance of D Cuisine, we were surrounded by the energy of fellow diners. Price: 5/5 We found the prices at D Cuisine to be reasonable, considering the quality and portion sizes of the dishes. The value for money made our dining experience even more enjoyable. our visit to D Cuisine was a 5stars. With its diverse menu and lively atmosphere, D Cuisine is a great dining destination in Lincoln park

It's been a few years since we ate here. Came here for dim sum lunch. We ordered the chicken feet, char siu su, bean curd roll, steamed spare ribs and har gau. Everything was good. The prices did go up quite a bit since we came. Service was good. Will be back again

I just finished dim sum at D Cuisine and it's the most flavorful example of the small-plate experience anywhere in Chicago.

There were a few small two tops, but mostly those big round family size tables with the giant center lazy susans. Got a paper menu for dim sum items and a regular menu. Had to go with the dim sum goodies since it had so many things we'd never seen in any Michigan Chinese restaurants. Sweet walnut buns, fried bean curd skins filled with deliciousness, brisket with rice noodles that looked like Korean rice cakes, meatloaf, and more. Everything was outstanding, with various sauces presented with different items. This was new for us as well. A deep red vinegar with some fried dumplings, a tasty black sauce with the fried stuffed bean curd skins, a sweet plum sauce with the fried skinny shrimp rolls, it was really fun food. They have a barista making coffee, espresso and even milk tea, but the wait was like 10 minutes. Clean restaurant with very good service. Wish we lived closer so we could make it regular stop.

The restaurant was packed -- every seat full -- which is always a good sign. We were seated by the window, which made for a great dining spot. The restaurant was lively with large and small groups of people. The wait staff was attentive and efficient, quickly clearing tables and responding to any requests. The food was excellent. We ordered noodles, rice, hot sour soup and dumplings. One thing to note: portions are served family-style and are large enough to share. We originally thought we were each ordering individual plates, but everything came out perfect for the table. No complaints though -- we all left with leftovers, and honestly, it tasted just as good the next day warmed up! I ordered an Old Fashioned, and it was perfectly made. The appetizers were a bit on the smaller side but very flavorful -- you may want to order more than one for the table. The only downside had nothing to do with the restaurant itself -- parking in Chinatown can be a challenge. However, if you dine at a participating restaurant, you can get your parking validated for $3, which definitely helps. Overall, it was a great experience, and we would definitely return.
