You know this place is good when there's a crowded entry, a waiting list, and a dining room with packed-to-the-max tables! Tuk Tuk is a MUST-TRY Thai food place in the city. My sister and I have been to the Tuk Tuk location in Lincoln Park and HAD to visit the Noble Square location the next time we were in town. Seeing that it was PACKED, I dropped my sister off to add our name to the waitlting list while I went to find a parking spot (We went on a Sunday afternoon and parking was crazy! But I eventually found a spot a couple blocks away) We were originally told that it would be an hour-long wait, so we were deliberating on ordering take-out. But then twenty minutes in, we were seated! We ordered Thai Iced tea, laab moo tod, chicken pad see ew, and fried rice. Our food came out really quick! All of the above were absolutely FANTASTIC; especially the pad see ew. You can never go wrong with that! The laab moo tod was deeply flavorful, with a perfect crunch on the outside and a harmony of deliciousness on the inside. My only wish was that there was a dipping sauce on the side! Overall, we had an EXCELLENT experience! No matter how many times we come to Tuk Tuk, the food is fantastic every time!
Ordered delivery from here and loved it! We had crab Rangoons, beef pad see eiw, tofu pad Thai, tiger cry, and a Thai iced tea. Everything was flavorful and delicious. The Tiger cry was tender and cooked to perfection. I was confused by the coconut pudding bc they came in small ceramic dishes, I can't help but to wonder if they always give away these small dishes. I washed them and will be using them as sauce dishes lol can't say anything about the ambiance since I did not dine in. I will be ordering from here more often!
Originally we were told a 45 min wait. I think it was more like 15 and we were happy it moved quickly. Thera a lot to choose from, so I would suggest looking ahead online at their menu or on Yelp! The beef pad see eiw and seafood green curry were delicious! The coconut ice cream was fantastic. The pork king moo Keon was okay... but we've had better at other places. All in all a great meal especially catching up with a friend! Service was on point with them coming in every so often to see how things were going.
If you love Thai food, this place should be on your list! We came here on a Saturday with a reservation and got seated right away. The service was fast and food came out quick. We ordered pad see ew, khao soi, tum thai papaya salad and pla nueng manow ( steamed branzino). I loved the flavoring on all dishes. Most of them do come with a little heat and the server did ask how hot we wanted to make it. The Khao soi was really rich with the coconut based broth and the two different kinds of noodles. Papaya salad was crispy and refreshing. The steamed fish was cooked perfectly and the fish is cooked with a sour soup which tastes similar to tom yum. I would totally recommend giving this a try if you're looking for flavorful Thai food.
So good! I wouldn't recommend sitting outside because I got a ton of mosquito bites within a matter of minutes, not the restaurants fault and they corrected it quickly after. Food is always good!
Tuk Tuk is a go to for me! I often order take-out (please try the crab fried rice!) but decided to dine in over the weekend. There was ample seating available, calm, and quick attentive service. We ordered the green curry with chicken and the signature pad Thai. It was delicious and portion sizes are so generous. I love that they have gluten free options labeled on their menu. We also ordered the sticky mango rice a for dessert and it was so good, some of the best I've had. Honorable mention: they had Aesop soap in the bathroom!!!
Walking in the hidden gem is like taking a trip to Thailand! On the wall there is a wooden artwork of the Bangkok skyline, umbrelllas and other beautiful floral decor. We tried the wings, Pad Thai, Green Curry and Sticky Mango rice. Everything was delicious and service was great! Can't wait to go back!
solid spot for some yummy thai food in chicago! Tuk tuk has a vibrant ambiance with bright decor that transports you to the streets of thailand! The menu has all the well known thai dishes and also some more unique ones as well. We opted for the classic pad thai and pad see ew - both were super flavorful and moist!! Portions are huge as well! Service was relatively fast and super welcoming and kind.
Everything I had here was delicious. It's honestly the best Thai food I've had. We're still looking for a place for spicy fried rice. The Pad Thai was perfectly saucy. The crab fried rice was amazing. Coconut pudding dessert took a little bit, but the presentation is so nice here. Everyone is nice. The interior is pretty but also relaxed.
Ambiance: The restaurant was bright and welcoming. The tables are a bit small and close together so if you have a larger party of 5+, it can be a tighter squeeze. Service: Our server, Ping, was amazing! He was very attentive. Food: The food was one of the best Thai I've had in a while! I ordered the basil chicken over rice (medium spicy). The chicken dish was very fragrant, and was actually pretty spicy!
Authentic Thai street food options with all your favorites on the menu. Don't miss the Khao Soi and definitely check out one the four whole fish options. Everything was delicious--note that the food comes out as ready so even though we ordered an app it was the last dish to arrive (perhaps a kitchen error but keep in mind). The outdoor patio is nice and there are heaters which made it comfortable.
A super friendly and vibrant restaurant! We loved the cultural decor and the cute plates and cups -- such a fun, welcoming atmosphere. The food is great. The signature Pad Thai and the Kaprow Rad Khao (definitely get it with ground pork!) are both so flavorful and satisfying. It wasn't mango season for mango sticky rice, and we really appreciated that our server was honest about it. Instead, we ordered the warm Thai taro cakes -- and they were delicious, so no regrets there. We also tried the crispy meatball appetizer. It's unique, but a bit dry for our taste. Overall, a wonderful experience and we will definitely be back.
My new fav Thai in the city! I'm always on the hunt for a delicious pad see ew, and this one did not disappoint. I got the level 3 spice level which was perfect. Right at the top of my spicy threshold. My husband got the pad Thai with level 4. It didn't seem that spicy though. The sauce was pretty sweet for a pad Thai though. He said he would go with the pad see ew next time because mine was better. We also got the ribeye appetizer which was tasty. Overall, all very good and the prices were pretty standard for Chicago but the portions were a bit smaller than other places I felt. Either way, I'm a fan!
Wow!!! I don't know why I haven't had this before, but it was AMAZING. The place is so nice and colorful. The service was great especially Yord and TJ were SO nice and patient and explained pretty much the whole menu since I don't know that much about Thai food Every single dish that Yord recommended was DELICIOUS, and if you don't like coconut then the ice cream is not for you because it was probably the best coconut ice cream I've ever had. It tastes so fresh and refreshing. I will definitely come back to try the whole menu read more

Man, this place is pretty cool. From the inventive decor to great service, we enjoyed it. But there was a demerit point, which I'll explain later. Firstly - we have friends who live in the South Loop, and we wanted to meet up for lunch- so we agreed on meeting here! We got there right as they opened, and were quickly seated by a nice waiter who had 4 menus ready for us. As we perused the menu, I noted all the standard Thai foods were there- and I do enjoy a good Thai meal every now and again! We ordered Thai iced tea (check the photo below for the presentation- wow!), and Laab Kai. We also ordered pad thai w/shrimp and papaya salad. Ok- we also ordered sticky rice in lieu of jasmine rice. While VERY nice presented, it was old ice, a bit crusty around the edges, and while it did the job, it just wasn't "all that good". Darn. The Laab Kai was ordered medium spicy with chicken- I forgot it had some jalapenos, though. Darn it. Those things made me automatically need a shower as they made me sweat so much! Still, yummy! The pad thai w/shrimp- oh my god. YUMMY YUMMY. Same with the papaya salad. We were starting to get full! But we ordered mango w/sticky rice- my go-to Thai dessert that I dearly love. The mango was perfect, as was the sticky rice.... I was in heaven. Will I come again? Does the sun rise daily? That should answer your question :) read more

My friends and I (group of 5) came here on a Sunday night for dinner. We had to wait around 20-25 mins to get seated. Larger groups (5+) might need to wait longer because the space is better accommodated for small groups. The inside of the restaurant is colorful and pretty cozy! The service and food were amazing! There is a ton of options on the menu, so take your time reading through all of them. Everything was delicious and great for sharing but I highly recommend the papaya salads and the Tom Kha, the coconut soup, they were my favorites. Unfortunately due to my limited stomach space, I couldn't eat everything I wanted so I definitely will be coming back to try other menu items! read more

Ordered take out online for pick up! Super easy process, which honestly is great. Food was packaged well, no spills on the drive home. Staff was super welcoming when we walked in. The space is tiny, which makes sense that other reviews talk about reservations. The crab rangoons were the standout for me! Pad Thai was good. I will just remember to add more peanut sauce when we order from here again. Pretty pricy compared to our normal Thai place, BUT, would definitely not hesitate to order from here again. read more
They haven't been open long & have had great reviews. We were excited to try it. Walked in without a reservation on a cold December Saturday night. They said the wait was 20-25 minutes. No problem. The place is tiny. We waited in the breezeway. After about 30 minutes or so, the host tells us we will be sat in less than 10 minutes. Yay, because the zero degree temps had us so cold. It felt like a Seinfeld episode. Nope, after another 20 minutes, we considered leaving. I wish they'd have been more honest about the wait. We got seated in the back. One bench seat, one chair. When I say cramped, it still doesn't describe how tight it was. We had to have people move just to get back there. Thought it would be warm by the kitchen. My feet were frozen. I had to ask people to get up so I could make my way to the bathroom. They were annoyed, and so was I at this point. The food was decent, I'd give it 3.5 stars if it wasn't for everything else. Shrimp pad se ewe had the tails on. The noodles were a bit mushy. Tofu pad Thai was great. The tofu was prepared so good. Didn't have drinks or dessert because we wanted to go home & warm up after a nearly 2 hour dinner. read more
What a pleasant surprise! I came here with a group of friends, and we were all impressed by the quality, quantity, and authenticity of the food. It's been a while since I've had truly great Thai cuisine! I had no idea there were so many varieties of papaya salad -- we tried the one with salted crab, and it was absolutely delicious. The Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, and Green Curry were all excellent as well. Just a note of caution: the green curry leans on the spicier side, and my friend wasn't expecting that extra kick. Their spice level 5 is very spicy due to the use of Thai chilies, so choose wisely! The restaurant is BYOB and charges per glass. The interior is vibrant and warm, with cozy yellow lighting. Seating is a bit limited, but definitely worth the wait. Service was excellent' Our waiter offered great suggestions and checked in on us throughout the meal. Overall, I totally recommend this place for amazing food and good vibes! read more
we had this place booked for our trip to chicago for the longest time and it didn't disappoint! all the dishes were really good, my favorite was the pad thai 8/10. simple dish but often either overcooked or dry- but this one was perfect. chewy, tangy, not too spicy, sour from the lime and the chicken cooked perfectly. the crispy pork belly was okay 6.8/10. it was a little too overcooked. the skin was too tough to bite through, but the flavor overall was good. the papaya salad 8/10 was refreshing with a good kick of chilis. it had the perfect crunch and good palette cleanser the steamed fish took about 20 mins to be ready 7/10 (the waiter let us know before ordering). the tangy sauce under the fish was so good, it could just be soup on its own. the fish wasn't too dry and came pre cut (just be careful with the bones ofc). the vegetables on the side were good as well. ambiance: the inside is small with a couple tables so it can get pretty crowded during busy hours. we (4 ppl) went at 6pm and luckily got seated right away. when we were done eating around 7pm, there was already a line forming outside. bathroom was clean and stocked up. overall 8/10 would definitely come back and try their other dishes and thai tea (we regret not getting it because it looked so good lol). staff was super nice as well and super quick service. read more

Grand opening was Oct 3rd 2025! Excited to have this place near us! Most than places I would go to in the past we would just order out, but this place has a great inside that's rather inviting to dine in! The service was quick and super friendly. The menu has everything you need and the portions are rather generous! Definitely will be one of my regular stops, so good! read more

It was 10 degrees outside when we went here but, the restaurant was freezing at 7pm. It makes the whole experience a little less pleasant when my feet and legs are freezing. It really started out when we walked in on Saturday night without a reservation. We put our name in and were told 20 - 25 minutes. We waited in the small waiting area at the front door. The front door kept opening and closing due to customers and take out orders. I did mention that it was 10 degrees outside. This made it almost unbearable to wait in the waiting breezeway. To add to the misery, it was over 50 minutes before we got seated. We would not have waited if they told us it will be close to an hour instead of "20 - 25 minutes but it probably won't be that long". After waiting 25 minutes in the freezing waiting area, we started to question whether to stay or not. You know the game - we already have almost a half hour invested, do you wait it out or do you go somewhere else? We were basic and ordered PAD THAI and PAD SEE EIW. It was good but not anything that you couldn't get at any other Thai Restaurant. We ordered 3 out of 6 for their spicy scale (medium). It was pretty spicy and my stomach was burning on the ride home. Plenty of other good Thai Restaurants in the city. read more

?' Able return. Never we've have I not finished Thai food. Something was off w the chicken /pork. Not enough veggies. So cute but not as great if experience as former Asian place here. Beef appetizer came after our meal. We understood this. I'm pretty old been to Thailand as well often love to eat out Thai. Maybe next time it will be better. The ambiance is what gives it a better rating but the food ?! read more

I'm so glad Tuk Tuk Thai opened up this Wicker Park location, it's some of the best Thai food I've had in the states! The decor inside is beautiful and it really transports you to Thailand for a brief moment. I've already had this 4 or 5 times in the last month, both dining in and takeout. My favorite dish is their signature pad Thai with the head-on shrimp. The noodles have the perfect bounciness and the shrimp heads are so flavorful. My family is southeast Asian and this dish really reminded me of how my mom used to cook the head-on shrimp. I love the huge menu of papaya salads to choose from. They come with different toppings and dressings. If I'm feeling indecisive I just go with the original Tum Thai. I've tried the salted crab which was delicious but definitely need to be in the mood for it. The Laab Isan menu is labeled as Thai Spicy salad. The pork neck laab was really tender and has a great sauce which is a little crunchy from the toasted rice. However you should note it's more meat than vegetable, and the vegetable is mainly mint. For most dishes you have an option to select the spice level. We usually get spice level 2 which is pretty mild, but the spice levels do go up to 6 if you're adventurous. I've had the Tom Yum and Tom kha soups in person, I love that you can get it in a hot pot when you dine in to keep it warm. There's usually a generous amount of shrimp in the soups. My latest order was a takeout order of the prik king moo krob, a crispy pork belly with chili herb paste and long green beans. It comes with rice and and the sauce is super flavorful. The service is excellent for both dining in and takeout. Even at a smaller table for 2 they're able to fit 3 dishes including a hot pot on the table. The servers are friendly and can provide suggestions for ordering. I didn't know they had sticky rice as an option but the server asked us if we wanted some since it would go well with the Laab and tiger cry. The sticky rice was hot and fresh and took me back to my days studying abroad eating street food in Thailand. Definitely check out Tuk Tuk Thai, everything I've had on the menu has been delicious! read more

Love that we have a new Thai spot in our area! Was able to snag a 5pm reservation cause everything else was full. Started with the Tiger Cry and it was delicious, really good meat cooked well. Also had the Laab Khai which was good but a tad too limey for me personally. I've never had this before so that's not necessarily a critique, just a person preference. We ordered a side of rice and wrapped it in the lettuce which made it better. Ordered a spice level three and it had a nice kick without being too hot. Next Kaprow Rad Khoa w Shrimp which was absolutely my fave. Came with a runny egg which was divine. Again, good spice and large fresh tasting shrimp. For dessert my husband got the Mor Kaeng which was served warm and more of a savory dessert. All and all we will certainly be back as this was the best Thai food by far in our area. If I couldn't get a reservation I would get to-go. Highly recommend! read more
