Not a big fan of the general sour taste Crab Rangoon is ok. Pretty crispy. Grilled pork neck salad: way too sour for me. Meat is juicy though Bbq pork fried rice: a bit too sweet Sticky rice pad jeow: sticky rice is spicy and you cannot choose the spicy level. Pork is pretty good. Normal grilled flavor

I did a online order from here. The pickup process was painless and straight forward. My order was completed before the promised time online. The food is a little on the pricey side for the amount of food you actually get. I ordered their Chicken Satay, Pad See Eiw with chicken and their Pad Kee Mao w/ beef. The containers seemed a little small. Although the dishes were filling, I'm used to halving a lot left over. The chicken stay was good. Both noodle dishes were good. I like to order my Pad Kee Mao very spicy and they didn't made sure that happened. The only thing my dish was missing was some texture and color. Pas Kee Mao should come with carrots and peppers for some much needed crunch. Overall a decent meal, just not sure if I'd return anytime soon.

08/24/24 - Sunday night my wife and I went out for dinner. I had a craving for Thai food & wanted to try somewhere I had never eaten at before hence Aroy Thai @ 4654 N Damen Ave. The food was very good. We ordered 2 dishes to be shared family style. You can order the dishes in a 1-5 hotness rating w/1 being the least spicy & 5 being the spicest. Since my wife can't eat spicy food we ordered was level 1. * The first dish was the Pad Kee Mao stir fried wide rice noodles, w/beef ($1.50 extra), thai basil leaves, egg, collard greens, bean sprouts, bean sauce & a little pepper. We really enjoyed this dish. 5 stars * The second dish was Basil leaves, w/ground chicken, bell peppers, & mild hot peppers. Im not sure why I ordered this as I can make a better tasting Basil chicken garlic @ home. 3 stars Something to keep in mind is it's CASH ONLY. It's a good thing I keep cash in my wallet. Also the menu needs to be updated as the menu prices don't reflect the actual price (they did tell us before we ordered.

During a stressful week, I noticed this restaurant while completing an errand. Deciding to give myself a break on cooking dinner, I opted for take out. Noodles are comfort food - especially Thai food. Glancing at the menu, I chose Pad See-ew. What really drew me to this dish & sets it apart? The greens used instead of broccoli. This place Pad See-ews! Upon entering, I learned it's cash only however, you can scan a QR code & order online to pay with card. ETA was quoted at 10 minutes but it was much quicker than that. It's a small place but clean & cozy. Service was quick & friendly. After arriving home & tucking into my food, I was not disappointed. The slight bitterness of the greens balances the sweet & salty flavors of the rest of the dish. Perfection for dinner & a good way to end a less than stellar day. I will definitely be back as this is the best Pad See-ew I've ever had. Thanks Aroy!

Probably one of my favorite Thai restaurants in the city! I came here for the first time and was blown away by how delicious the food was and how attentive service was. I met the owner and he was so kind and welcoming. We tried a variety of dishes but my favorite were the crab Rangoon and pineapple shrimp curry. They are also the only restaurant to serve this unique noodle dish (aroy noodles), which are rice noodles with a delicious bbq pork sauce. Heads up they are also cash only. I can't wait to come back and try more things from their menu and also love how they have a lunch special. Since I don't live far, I'll have to give that a try sometime too.

Make sure that you bring cash to this place as if you dine in it is cash only. There was an atm in the back but it didn't really work when I was there. I ordered the crab rangoon, beef salad and pad see eiw. I probably would only recommend the beef salad as the pad see eiw lacked flavor and the crab rangoon was more like a vegetable rangoon with carrots and I think celery. The service was smooth and quick. It is pretty dark and small inside but their outside seating is cute.

    Kow Soy Noodles (unassembled)

Delivery ended up taking 90 minutes on a Wednesday. I ordered the Kow Soy (my Thai barometer) which came in two boxes. A couple minutes later after assembly, I took my first bite and was immediately impressed. The curry was still warm and had that peanut flavor I was craving. A good amount of chicken dispersed throughout too. Lastly, soft egg noodles that soaked up the curry and then plenty of onions, cilantro, and crispy noodles on top. Loved the overall taste and they even gave me some more spice on the side per my request.

    Any gluten free?

I am not sure but I know you can probably request one, the wait staff are very friendly. There is a good papaya salad and tiger cry (rib eye) appetizer that you can enjoy.

Legit one of the most authentic Thai places, especially with their Tom Yum Goong. It was the same creamy goodness that I remember growing up with. Luckily with the reservation we were seated right away. For the weekend visit it was so hectic and service wasn't the best. We didn't get our order taken until about 20 minutes after being seated. We were sitting and waiting for a while. Trying to flag down a server was impossible because of how busy it was. On the weekday service was much more attentive. Visiting on a weekday would be much more worth it since you can just walk in. Both times we ordered the Tum Thai (papaya salad), but the only difference is on the weekend we were NOT allow to adjust the spicy level on the salad. The server informed us that it was already premade so spiciness was no adjustment. I loved it but the spicy level was a bit too much for me. Everything came out relatively quick. All the dishes were very well seasoned and saucy. My favorite was the kor moo yang, tum Thai, and mango sticky rice! I would come back just for the sticky rice because it is so addicting!!!

There are window views from the restaurant, making for good people watching. Mainly metered parking available Medium to large sized place with dedicated sections for thai food (about 8 tables and 2 rows of bar style seats) vs for sushi and ramen but all under the same place/owner, can order from any menu - the decor on that side is super cute, fish cutouts, anime/manga decorated walls, decked out bars Got the scuba diving chicken from the chefs faves and must say it was pretty good - a bit on the greasier side but the aroma of the herbs and the spices from the curry really pull through, chicken is cooked very well, super tender and juicy. I got the "No turning back" spice level and theres a hefty kick - halfway into the dish my mouth def feels it but nothing too extreme (FYI theres a slight mala-like numbingness to it) The traditional papaya salad was crunchy and refreshing, sauce is tangy but not too overwhelming. The peanuts add a nice nutty element to it. There were hardly any dried shrimp, so wouldve like to see a bit more of that. Be sure to give it a good mix as the sauce and topping fall to bottom of the bowl To top it off, the service was great. Albert was really attentive and helpful - would come back if im in the gold coast area again to try the other menu offerings

Seating was a little tight like at Phodega, but not terrible. To view menu, you scan a QR code at the table. My husband & I ordered the following: - Grilled Squid This was really good! I thought it was going to come out like little calamari rings, but it was actually a decently sized whole squid, sliced with the tentacles on the side. It was cooked perfectly as it was not chewy or rubbery. The flavor was great, especially with the paired Thai-spicy seafood sauce. - Crab Meat Fried Rice Loved that this was with real crab! & not the imitation crab. There were bits of crab meat throughout the rice and then topped with a big lump of crab meat. It came served with a lime & yummy fish sauce with fresh Thai chili's. - Bamee Noodles with BBQ Pork without broth This bowl of egg noodles had a slightly sweet flavor to it, served with a fox amount of BBQ Pork which was also nice & tender! Slurped it all up! - Jina's Fried Chicken This was good, but not anything like out of this world. It was fried chicken leg quarter, served with black sticky rice. - Sweet Sticky Rice with Mango LOVED this! It was a great way to end our meal! I loved that it came with extra sweet sauce! - Taro Tapioca in Coconut Milk Cream This was great too! It was actually a warm dessert. The menu described it as "Tapioca pearls" so I was expecting the tiny little clear boba balls, but it was cubes of like glutinous rice. Which was not bad! I liked it a lot; it reminded me of Ginataang Bilo Bilo (#iykyk if you're Filipino)! Overall, a delicious experience! We would eat here again!
