Had the lunch special here last week - thai fried rice tofu which came with cucumber salad. With a can of coke, it was less than $20. That was a fulfilling and delicious meal. This was our least favorite Thai food in the hood, they had a makeover so we thought we would try them again... the food is just straight up bland. Seriously not good. On a flavor scale 1-10 it is a solid 2 and that's cause I do taste salt. Their coconut milk used in the Panang Curry is watered down and thin. I'm not a Thai food expert but I do eat it often, have been to Thailand and taken a cooking class. No citrus, no dark soy sauce, no herbs... even when ordered spicy it's just flat. Service was efficient, I ordered pickup and it was ready in 15 minutes. Ambience is alright but half of the floor is closed and it is structured as an Uber Eats churn and burn. If you need food and nothing else is open, it will do but it's honestly disappointing every time. I'm posting a picture to show the water separating from the coconut milk in the curry. We walked in on a Tuesday evening around 5pm with our 2 kids on the way home from the airport and had a great experience after a tiring day of travel. My husband is gluten free and they were able to accommodate for all dishes -- the woo San pad Thai, panang curry, tom kha soup. The tom kha soup was the best I've ever had - so flavorful! Can't wait try some other dishes I ordered the Thai iced tea bubble tea and will skip that next time. What makes this even more disappointing is that this used to be one of my family's favorite restaurants. We've been coming here for years, and our favorite server has been there for what feels like forever. He has always been amazing, and we've always made sure to tip him in cash because we wanted HIM to get his tip. Recently, we heard/read claims from people connected to the restaurant about how card tips were allegedly being handled, and if those claims are true, that is extremely disappointing. I also heard that our server had been told the restaurant would eventually be sold to him, only for the owners to apparently sell it to someone else without even telling him. Again, I wasn't personally there for those conversations, so I'm not going to pretend I know every detail, but hearing that story was honestly heartbreaking. Regardless of all of that, my personal experience with the restaurant after the ownership change has been awful. The food quality has gone way downhill, and the restaurant does not feel like the place my family used to love. This used to be my new favorite cheap Thai restaurant. I'm writing this review based on my last two experiences. The Pad Thai I order on June 19th must have been the bottom of the barrel. The noodles were thin, tasteless and had the texture of mowed grass. I even had my friend try it to make sure I wasn't crazy and she agreed. Both of us will no longer be relying on this restaurant as our go to cheap Thai restaurant. The other incident was when I ordered paw see ew. The to go container wasn't even half full which is completely unusual for this place. I've noticed that both times I've placed my order, that it was on the later side of the first evening. Omg, we stumbled upon this restaurant and it is soo good and prices are good too!! There is one woman who practically runs the restaurant. She was the only waitress but regardless of how many tables being served, the service was still good! My friend and I ordered the Thai tea boba and the taro boba tea, they tasted like they had all natural ingredients and they were icy which was a different take! The taro was a little bit more milky than nutty but still very tasty. We shared a Crab Rangoon appetizer and the texture was so crispy on the outside, which was different but delicious. I ordered the Thai fried rice with tofu and veggies and the flavor was so good and there was enough food to take home for leftovers! C'est Bien Thai has never been an absolute favorite of mine but their late hours and fresh food had made it a regular in the group of Thai restaurants I frequent for years. I always thought of them as the place that makes thai food on the bland side but always uses fresh, higher quality ingredients. Their veggies are usually bright and crisp and plentiful. My habit has always been to buy my takeout here and add some thai red chili on my own, because as I said they tend to play it safe on spice. My most recent order here, a delivery order via Uber Eats last night, was completely out of character. The panang curry just tasted like coconut milk and soy sauce, and was so salty it was inedible. The vegetables were cooked to literal mush, and the duck in our duck curry was just a bunch of duck meat strings, with nothing to bite into. I am comfortable adjusting a sub par delivery order with some adjustments from my own kitchen, but this could not be saved. You can't uncook something or desalt it. I hate wasting food but this order could not be saved. It left a terrible taste in my mouth. Ubereats refunded me, so at least I'm not out of money. I really hope it was just an off night because this place used to be great and kept me fed during covid lockdown. read more

Presentation is key here. It made me want the food even more. Also, the decor was on point so after covid, bring your significant other for date night! The scallion crepes were very tasty but also very oily. Even though I liked the flavor, the oil was overboard. The pineapple fried rice was delish! The serving was a mile high. The cashew chicken was very tasty and you could tell the difference in quality of ingredients. It tasted like your parent made it. The duck... oh man... it was hands down the best dish. I don't even eat duck and it was scrumptious. I didn't have any bits of fat and the green beans were cooked yet still crisp, just the way I like them. The green beans bursted with flavor from the duck. Truly it was a 5 star dish in my books. Did we stop there? No way. Thai tea ice cream and coconut ice cream for the table! The sauce was thin and bland, and if you would've given me the dish without me knowing what I ordered, I would've guessed that it was the plain red curry. We got the Fried Potstickers, Crab Rangoon, Pad See Ewe, and Pad Thai. The Crab Rangoon were fat and crispy - a good value for the price! The fried potstickers were a bit small in comparison but for $5 they were okay. The Pad See Ewe and Pad Thai were delicious! The noodles felt lighter than other restaurants. For the Pad See Ewe, it wasn't as sweet as I'm used to, but I figure there's probably less sugar and/or less MSG which was nice!
