On-street parking available but we weren't lucky enough to find space in front of the restaurant. We arrived after 1pm and seated ourselves. Low-key dining. A gentleman soon arrived with menus and returned to deliver chips and salsa, and take our drink orders. The sauce with the chips was thin, but did have good flavor. I ordered the agua de jamaica con fresa (hibiscus-strawberry water) for a drink. It was sweet and served in a large (mason) jar. Wish I had a few fresh jalapeño slices to drop in it. Ordered the plato de milanesa (breaded, thinly-pounded chicken with beans, rice, salad and corn tortillas). It probably could have been pulled 1 minute earlier but it was still delicious. The corn tortillas had the taste of hotcakes, which I love. Lastly, tasted a torta with carnitas and nopales. It included French fries. The sandwich was tasty. Love the spicy sauce that came with it. Oh, that sauce. Nice-sized portions. You get fed. Service was great. read more

I'm always looking for good Mexican food in Omaha, I had heard about Mexitli and got excited to come and try it. I ordered take-out, 1 Chicken Burrito, 1 Taco Macho and a side of chips with beans. Chicken burrito: It was around $9, not quite sure how much it cost as no prices are listed on there menus. Protein, rice, beans and lettuce. The good parts of this item was the flavor, it was juicy and spicy, the protein was the star of the dish. The burrito itself was probably 4 inches long, it looked like a burrito the size you would get from a childrens menu. The burrito also came with some fries, the fries might have been the most sad looking fries I have ever received, hardly cooked, soggy and zero flavor. On the menu it doesnt state that fries come with the meal and I would have been much happier with a larger burrito and no fries. Overall the flavor was a 4.4/5 but the price per portion was a 2.1/5. Taco Macho: Taco was around $4.50. Fresh corn tortilla, roasted jalapeno on the base with melted cheese, protein(steak), beans, onion and cilantro. Again the flavors were top notch on this item, protein was seasoned and cooked well. This was a great taco, the issue I have is wanting to eat more then 1 of these. I wanted to get about 4 or 5 tacos and try out the different proteins but they didn't have a basic street taco. Eating a whole jalapeno for each taco is overkill for me, having a roasted jalapeno on the side to take bites of between bites of taco would be more ideal. Overall flavor was there, this taco filled me up more then the little burrito did. Flavor again was a 4.4/5 but I wouldn't want to eat more then one of these during a meal Chips w/ Beans: Around $2. I believe this item is complimentary if you eat in house. Chips were mid, they tasted slightly stale, almost to hard to eat, basically didnt have a nice crunch to them, not very enjoyable. Beans were forgetable, nothing special. I had a side of salsa with the chips as well, there salsa was very good, Medium-hot to hot level, but very flavorful. Maybe the chips are usually more fresh and I went on a bad night. Overall I loved the flavors that Mexitli had. The induvial compenents were amazing but I didn't think the actual dishes were amazing. I would like to have ordered a burrito that would fill me up and not have cheap fillers like fries take away from my meal, or be able to order a more basic taco. I'll give them another try, like I've said the flavors are really great but the portions and everything else with the meal isn't ideal for a regular take-out joint. 3.3/5 just okay. read more

My wife and I stopped in for lunch just to check it out. We were greeted by a very nice and hospitable server, Paulina. Service was attentive and quick over the lunch hour. I had the Birrira (sp?) taco and my wife had the sopas with three types of pork. They were good, I'd say B+. The real star of the show was the guacamole and salsa. We will be back. I absolutely love this food truck so I was excited to try the brick and mortar location! We went after opening day and it was surprisingly not busy for a Friday night dinner. Overall, the restaurant was well decorated, clean, and vibrant. However, it was difficult to find pricing of the menu items and drink options. Service: 5/5; the gentleman serving us was so kind and worked hard as the cashier, server, and busser. Our food came out 10-15 minutes after we ordered. Food: These thicker homemade corn tortillas are so delicious and the tacos were very saucy. Corn mushroom taco (huitlacoche) 4/5; good flavor but a little too salty for my personal taste Pumpkin flower taco 5/5; my favorite! Slightly sweet and savory flavor similar to cooked zucchini Green pork Chile with cactus 5/5; tender pork with amazing Chile sauce Not shown: steak and egg burrito 4/5; not a lot of steak but the egg, beans, and rice made up for it. Good food, ok service. There was no acknowledgment after walking in the door and standing around for a few minutes. We ordered take out: a steak torta, birria tacos and chicken enchiladas. I'm not sure how much each item cost because there were no prices on the menu, but our take out order came to about $40, which seems a bit spendy. The menu says the birria comes with dipping sauce, but we didn't get any with our order. Maybe because it was takeout? Enchiladas and torta didn't have a ton of flavor and there wasn't much meat on the torta, but they were decent. Overall, the food was good, but nothing I'd rush back for. read more

Stopped in on Father's Day, Everything about this place was amazing, friendly service! From the drinks, cucumber lime and horchata, was soooooo fresh. Salsa was the perfect amount of spice. The guac was to die for!!!! I got enchiladas which tasted like they used the freshest ingredients possible. My dad and daughter got the Birria tacos. Yallllll this place is a must visit! Delicious! This new Mexican spot is the perfect lunch, especially if you're looking for something downtown. I ordered a horchata and three tacos: quesabirria, adobado, and chicken. The horchata was great, very cinnamonny but was on the sweeter side so be careful if that's not your thing. The birria was definitely my favorite but all three were good. If you are eating in they bring chips and beans to your table free of charge which I thought was a nice touch. The staff was kind and our food came out in no time at all. I was really looking forward to trying this place as I had heard great things about it. Gf and I were seated quickly and brought menus right away. However, a large party arrived AFTER us and they were given menus and chips and salsa right away. The server also explained the specials to them. In the whole time we were there we were never served. No chips and salsa and not even our drink orders taken. We ended up waiting about 15 minutes and saw that the larger table were getting their food orders taken. We felt that since it was just the 2 of us they didn't care about our experience as much as the larger table so we ended up walking out. Very disappointed. read more

OMG! Sooo Delicious. Coming from so. California, I was very skeptical about Mexican in Omaha. But this is the real deal. First is the guacamole is so flavorful and so full of avocados. This is like guacamole you make at home. Second, get the Agua Fresca. I had the Hibiscus/Strawberry which is a sweet/tart elixir. We ordered the steak taco and quesadilla. Food and beverages were excellent. Full of flavor, everything I had was simply delicious. Service was prompt and friendly. This time around they had just recently opened so they didn't have a printed menu ready to go, just a whiteboard to choose entrees from (which in no way detracted from the service or experience). Loved the Mexica Calendar painted on the wall as it tied in the rest of the decor, especially the Saltillo type textiles used for the table clothes. Let me at least say they have a very pleasant staff. I ordered a beer, but they don't serve that as yet. Then I ordered the Asada plate and was told it wasn't available. So I tried the enchiladas. I'm not certain, but I think they were made in advance as they were served very fast and were warm but not hot. It's either from being made ahead or possibly from the cold plate dropping their temperature quickly. The enchiladas were very small and do not come with rice or beans- the cheapest foods on earth. There might have been a total of 3 ounces of chicken in the five enchiladas. A disappointment to spend $25 with tip to get maybe $10 worth of so so food. The fact that some Yelpers are reviewing their hot dog meal, with bad fries at a Mexican restaurant should've been my warning. My fault for not reading that in advance! Came just after the lunch rush and service was fast. I ordered 2 birria tacos with fried tortilla and was satisfied. It was pretty authentic food though i have has birria elsewhere in omaha and bought the flavor here was lacking. Wonderful, authentic Mexican food. we stopped by for breakfast and it was a great way to start our visit to Omaha. We lived in Texas for years and visited Mexico often and this place is a gem.
