At the table we order the croissant French toast, chicken and waffles, hot Benedict, Salisbury steak, breakfast bowl, and more. Each item was delicious, fresh, and tastes like home cooking. Perfect for our hang over. Good portions for the price. The only downfall was the server forgot to put in one of our members food. She kept saying it was the kitchen but he literally didn't get his food till we were all done eating. She could have done a better job and got him out a side or something ASAP. Best Darn Restaurant anywhere!!!! The new location in St. Aug...the local customers haven't figured it out yet. Wife and I were in town for something and stopped in. Line out the door, but all the bar seats are empty?? Duh, its seat yourself and you get immediate service. The kitchen staff is amazing to watch the cooperation and coordination. Best breakfast I've had in St. Augustine! I was looking for a breakfast place one Sunday that wasn't a chain and found this on Yelp. From the outside it doesn't look that exciting, it's located in a shopping center off of U.S. 1. It was a busy Sunday and outside they had coffee and water for those who had to wait which was really nice. Luckily there was only two of us and we were able to sit down right away. The hostess gave us some recommendations when she found out that we've never been there before. I went with the recommendation of the croissant french toast. I also ordered sausage and home fries on the side. The french toast was absolutely delicious! It's a large portion, it comes with four pieces. The other standout was the home fries, they were some of the best I've had and I would definitely order them again. I wasn't a fan of the sausage which was fine because I had plenty of food there and to take home. It is more expensive than your usual diner but I would say it's worth it. I will definitely come here again and try some other items on the menu. read more

We had been here once before and the service and the food was excellent, but this time, 10:45 am on a Friday was a disaster. We waited 30 minutes to be seated which was fine, but then after placing our order waited 45 minutes for our food while the 2 tables next to us (who sat down afterward) were served before us. When 3/5 plates arrived 2 were cold and one came with the wrong side. Having already been here over an hour we asked for them to be microwaved but the server insisted on remaking them which took another 15 minutes. Overall the wait was insane, the food was edible but not amazing, and the tone of the service was overall unapologetic/uncaring. It's your regular diner fare. However the portions are crazy big. My mother in law got the fish salad and the fish was bigger than the plate we could have all just shared her dinner. Love my experience with Jax Beach Metro but our lunch at the St. Augustine diner was just fair. I had the big fish sandwich. Roll was huge but had no taste at all. I would never order again. Wonder why on the menu?? Hubby had a Monte Cristo he said was good. Tabbouleh side was great. Our server was very sweet but a bit confused. Best to stick with breakfast items. So we've been here many, many times before with no issue. We were planning to go here for Father's Day with a larger party (13). We called earlier in the week to see about reservations, which they explained they do not do, but they do call ahead. We tried to "call ahead" on Thursday beforehand and we were put on hold for 15 minutes waiting for a manager to come to the phone. It was after normal lunch hours but before they closed so this was a longer time to be on hold. The manager said we could easily call ahead on Father's Day at least an hour before. We called at 8:00 AM on Father's Day planning to eat around 10:30, only to be told that even for large parties, they don't do call ahead for Father's Day. We sat on hold three days prior and were told we could so you could imagine the frustration when we had to change our plans because the manager gave us wrong information. Despite the disappointment with this experience, the food is great and we will probably go back in the future, but not for a while as this experience left a bad taste in our mouths. read more

Tried this place on whim. Saw it as we were leaving from st Augustine beach after our vacation. My wife had the biscuits and gravy meal. I had the homemade corned beef hash with poached eggs and a biscuit. All of the food was unbelievably good and huge portions! I wish we were staying longer so we could take a box to go. The service was also excellent. The place was very busy and the kitchen had run out of biscuits right when our meal came out. Our waitress and the manager Doug took care of it immediately! We went there for breakfast about 2 weeks ago, we waited about 10 min for a table, they have a good selection of specialty flavors and features when it comes to coffee, that was a positive to start. I ordered 2 eggs with hash browns and bacon and my wife ordered the biscuits and gravy, BOTH WERE GREAT!. Service was good as well. I would suggest trying to get a table in the back room over to the right upon entry, we sat there and it was nice, but I could see that if we had to sit in the main area it would have been a lot louder and busier with people constantly walking by all sides of our table. Ordered a side of homefries, with onions and jalapenos, with expectations based upon many other diners and cafes that I know to take pride in their food - pan fried potatoes with lightly cooked onions and fresh jalapenos, but received a plate of deep fried potato chunks smothered in slimy onions out of a pot, and jalapenos out of a jar. These looked too disgusting to even try, and I politely asked the waitress to take them and offered to pay for them since I'd ordered them. Although she was nice (Jennifer) there was no compromise offer such as price adjustment or getting me something else, which I would have expected from a new place in town wishing for repeat business. Great Food and service! We went hoping it would be as good as others have said and it was. The kitchen was hopping so we were worried that the food was going to either be cold or slow. Neither could be further from the truth. The breakfast pizza was huge and could be shared. Our waitress Nicole, was on point and new about what items were the best to try and what the portions going to be. I think she was as exited about it being our first time as we were and made several recommendations for next time we come back. The food was set in the window and within 1-2 minutes she delivered our meal and for as busy as it was, we were surprised.
