Pot Pie

Unfortunately, this place has really taken a nose dive. The pot pie was incredibly salty as if it came out of a can and had almost zero vegetables in it. When you go to order online, no matter what site is it does not give you a list of options to customize your meal. Upon ordering, I contacted the restaurant to ask for a different cheese in my grits and it came with a different cheese and not my request. I then called the restaurant. the server who answered was uninterested in listening to anything I had to say, and automatically put me on hold to speak to a manager. The unfortunate part is the manager was trying to be helpful, but didn't have an avenue for the public to reach out to upper management to have make a request to have online ordering adjusted or detailed better. It's sad that a scratch made kitchen went to premade food.

Stopped in on a Tuesday morning for breakfast. I had no wait and was seated immediately. Staff greeted me at the door and said goodbye when I left. Had the meat lovers omelet, English muffin, cheesy grits, and coffee. Everything was very good. I'd say this was a pretty basic breakfast meal and it all was prepared to expectation. Nothing fancy. This is a small Metro Dinner compared to some others in the North Florida area. It was clean and neat inside. The service was good. Ambiance was typical of a diner, nothing fancy. For what I had, they delivered and so this review is a five star.

There's a certain energy that emits from Metro's locations, which definitely varies from place to place, but this one was fun. The food always comes out fresh and crispy. Service here is what you'd typically expect. There was a weird moment while eating our grits that it felt (and sounded) like we ate sand. Bring a jacket, this is like Gaylord Palm's ICE Experience.

Great service from Danielle N! Food was great and not over priced. Always consistent in every location.

Food was good. A few diner staples missing but plenty to choose from. Service was great. Ambiance typical nice diner.

Metro Diner is my go to for comfort food. We are doing a close-to-home vacation and I had had a rough morning and by lunch I wanted something that I knew wouldn't upset my tummy. I was thinking meat and potatoes- we had spotted Metro on our way into town the night before and that's what I sweetly asked John for (he couldn't resist). The dining room is a good size, we were sat right away and our drink orders taken right away. John and I decided to split their chicken pot pie- I mean, tell me that's not comfort food! He also ordered a cup of chicken noodle soup (again with something easy) and I asked for a biscuit on the side. I will admit- biscuits across this local chain aren't always top notch, it really depends on who is making them, this day- they were perfect! The chicken pot pie came out bubbling hot! We broke holes int he biscuit topping to let it vent and slowly blew on our spoonfuls while we dug in. It was so yummy. Carrots, peas, celery, chicken in a creamy base with a buttery biscuit topping. YUM! And our soup was also wonderful! I think our server's name was Erica- and she was fantastic. Cheerful, checked on us numerous times, made sure our drinks were full & got us some to go drinks too. Thank you Metro Diner for being a constant for my comfort foodie needs!

This place is great. Four stars for food but service hands down the best I have experienced in a diner. Polite, attentive, fast service.

This place had a great vibe and was a true awesome diner. The French toast was a little soggy but overall the meal was good.

Great food, service, and reasonable prices make this a great choice. So glad they are in Saint Augustine now. Portions are generous!

Ask the Community - Metro Diner

Does this place have all day breakfast, even during dinner time?

Yep some of the breakfast items are served all day. Same with Village Inn - IHOP and Denny's.

Do they allow dogs?

I see dogs at the outside tables all the time at the Saint Augustine location.

Do they have wings and if they do are they good?

No, they do not. Buy why would you want to go there for wings, anyway, when there are lots of good wing places in St. A?

I'll start by saying this is probably the best breakfast burrito I've ever had…read more The parking lot is tinyyyy. The restaurant is tinyyyyy. St. Augustine is a busy place. Therefore, this gets a long wait for breakfast/brunch. It's hard to get a parking spot but there's free parking across the street. They have a big waiting area next to the restaurant which is definitely needed as we ended up waiting like 45 minutes around 9:30 am on a Saturday. The food was definitely worth the wait though. I got the burrito smothered with sauce and cheese and the flavor was fantastic. Flavorful but not super spicy or anything. It's also HUGE. Highly recommend. Service is a little questionable, if it was quicker they could probably help with their long wait. It was hard to flag down our girl when we needed something & it took ages to get to check.

Hard to recommend this one. The service showed a real lack of knowledge and attentiveness. When I ordered whole milk for my coffee, the response was essentially "is half and half okay?" -- no, it is absolutely not okay. These are completely different in taste and calories, and it's not a reasonable substitute to casually suggest. What made it worse: oat milk, almond milk, and whole milk were all visibly sitting in the fridge right there from where I was seated at the bar. Zero effort to offer what was clearly available. The atmosphere didn't help either. The space feels like someone started building a café concept and never finished thinking it through. It's uninviting, disorganized, and oddly off -- not warm, not designed with the customer in mind. Nothing about the food, the presentation, or the space gives you a reason to choose this place over anywhere else. Not particularly tasty, not nicely decorated, not a vibe. Not sure what keeps people coming back, honestly.

I ADORE Sunday. I've…read moreonly been a couple of times, but it's always on my list for recommendations when I have friends going to STA. It's a pretty spot with both indoor and outdoor seating. I love sitting by the window so you can watch outside and enjoy the lovely views. Everything I've ordered (and all of friends' dishes that I've tried) is great. Service is on point and everyone is super friendly and kind. The parking nearby is 2 hour on side streets, but if you need a parking garage there's one not too far. I highly recommend ordering a French press of coffee! It's very delicious! You will get 3 cups of high quality coffee to share at the table or have all to yourself. As far as dining al fresco, the front courtyard is beautiful! However, on our trip it was too cold to dine outside. We were seated at a large table inside that accommodated our large group. They had several tables inside, but I could see on a busy Sunday or Saturday morning this place would get waitlisted quickly. Everyone loved their meals. No complaints. I ordered the lobster roll. It was very good, but I would try something different on a return visit. The salads coming out looked amazing! Everyone at my table raved about their meals: Shukshuka, BALT, Benedicts, cinnamon rolls. Every single thing was enjoyed!
