It's funny because the 5 star reviews are from the people who rent the houses out not so much the tenants like me. Recently left the property I was at because this company is an absolute money hungry scamming slumlords. I've rented from alot of places in the past 20 years and this is hands down the worst. When we had an issue they would send videos on how we can fix it ourselves or charge us to send someone out. Big disappointment during six years mesa did not t want to replace the carpet saying that the owner didn't want to and mesa was responsible for it because they are incharge of maintenance and not replacing a carpet for so long no matter howmany times t you wash it thats UNHEALTHY, there mainance people never complete a job always left things halfway and sometimes ill have to do it my self and for that mesa never payme, but when is about charging the renters they doit right away ridiculous pricing for nothing and even they stole part of my deposit stating that was for cleaning after I took a weekend to make sure evething was clean. I write this to hopefully mesa be more responsible and fair to the people that pay for a service. And DONT JUST TAKE PEOPLES MONEY. Come on sam if you want people to return the rentals in the exact same condition when they first got in then tell them to pay for rent but don't live there that way nothing wears out..i left the place clean so you own me 125dlls.. and the cheap carpet mesa use for rental properties belive me has to be replace every 3 to 4 years tops. We met and the very next day he got pictures and listed my rental on all websites for renting. Landed a tenant in a few weeks. Move in inspection is very detailed showing pictures of every room and evaluated and stated the condition. After working with Mark Parmenter since 2017 as our property manager of my property in Barstow, CA. Mark has been very knowledgeable, professional and understanding when it came to renting our house out for the first time. After my meeting with Mark he came out and walked through my property and gave us advice of our property and suggested what we should do and what not to do. When it was time to start renting out my property in Ontario, I did a quick search and Google and Yelp and got a few quotes from different property management companies and Sam from Mesa was the fastest to respond and even gave me a call to discuss more. I knew immediately that I would go with them over the other companies. I'm completely new to renting and he made sure to answer all my questions and was super friendly which I really liked! He helped me through every single step of the process and even helped with contacting my HOA several times to get the necessary paperwork. Sam was so quick to respond to every single email/call too. The most amazing part was that Sam found great tenants for my condo within 5 days!!! I was a little bit worried at first because a couple of my neighbors in the same community has had their property listed for rent (with different prop mgmt groups) for a few months already, and still no tenants. I would give 0 stars if I could. We just moved out of a rental that we lived in that was under Mesa property management. I think we only called them out there one time to fix something, we never had any complaints, we were always good to our neighbors, (our neighbors came and thanked us for being so good to them before we moved out, for always being so respectful and that we would be missed). After we rented for over 2 years Mesa properties would constantly raise our rent more and more until we were forced to move out (by the end of it our rent was raised so high that we could have afforded a 5 bedroom house for the same price). When we finally couldn't deal with them raising the rent anymore, we moved out, because we are nice people we had the house throughly cleaned by a maid service and had the carpets cleaned before we left. Instead of giving us our deposit back they charging us 200 dollars for house cleaning and 300 dollars for carpet cleaning EVEN THOUGH WE ALREADY PAID AND HAD THIS DONE without even being asked. They are also charging us 80 dollars for "still living there" on the first of the next month even though we were already completely moved out by the 29th. They are charging us 350 dollars for pet damage even though they OKed us to have a pet (a cat, the house came unfurnished) and that I just normal wear and tear. They charging us 75 dollars to install a "universal remote" which we never had, I don't know what they are talking about the house never came with a universal remote, and 15 dollars for a "fire place key" that they NEVER EVEN GAVE US in the first place? We never had used the fire place once while living there because they never even gave us a key to it. So if you are going to rent from Mesa property management, be ready for your rent to be raised insanely every month for no reason and then them to nickel and dime you when you finally move out for things that don't even make sense. Joshua Long, You weren't helpful at all, we were always good tenants I don't know why we were treated this way. VERY DISAPPOINTED. (Notice that the only good reviews are from people that used this company to rent out their home, all the bad reviews are from the renters that actually had to deal with Mesa property management, THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR RENTERS, please read all the reviews before consider renting from them. They deserve no stars in my opinion rearranged my work schedule according to my appointment time, received a txt message to confirm this morning responded immediately to confirm and then they sent me a txt indicating I had to reschedule because i didn't respond! Smh and they go back and forth via txt saying the same standard txt reschedule within 2 hours of original showing really through txt!?!? Similar experience as Jacqueline R. I never write negative reviews and felt strongly enough about the situation to warn other applicants to any property to be cautious applying to Mesa Property Management. After viewing a property we were told that the property was "first come, first serve". We submitted our applications, three applicants plus two guarantors bring the total application fee total to $150, that we gave them. Rather than Mesa Property Management contacting us in the event that any information was needed, we had to call very frequently to follow up on the application process and check to see if they needed any additional information. Fast forward to a few weeks later, and Mesa Property Management sends only one applicant a text to inform us that they have selected another applicant for the property, even though they previously told us that we were the first to apply to the property. The managers were very kind and competent, but there was a new realtor who worked there who (granted she was new), was very disorganized and incompetent. The very same day I received our rejection text message Autumn (the newer realtor) had asked me if I had viewed the property before. Which was very bizarre as I had viewed the property with her and the realtor she was shadowing a month prior. After this experience it's hard not to have the impression they are only after your application money and should not make empty promises about "first come, first serve" when they decide to pitch a later applicant's to the owner prior to the group that actually applied first. We never even got an explanation as to why our application was rejected. Similar experience to another reviewer. Very disappointed with what could have been a smooth moving transition. read more
