Ashley was outright rude, dismissive, and unprofessional for no reason when I called with basic questions. If you don't want to deal with applicants, then STOP putting your phone number on applications. It's that simple. We received ZERO communication--no updates, no status, no clarity. Nothing. Completely unacceptable. After doing my own digging and speaking with contacts in the Los Angeles area, it became very clear that this company is a mess internally. There are ongoing disputes within the family and issues involving former employees, and it's clearly affecting how these properties are being run. Even on-site managers have expressed concern about the chaos behind the scenes. Now let's talk about the property itself. We toured Cedar Regency in Glendale, CA, and it was honestly one of the worst buildings I've ever stepped into. The elevator was in terrible condition--damaged, dirty, and covered in graffiti. It felt unsafe. The staircases were just as bad. The entire complex looked neglected and borderline unlivable. Stained carpets, visible filth, spiders in the units, cracked mirrors--this is what they are showing to potential tenants. It's shocking. The leasing agent was nice, but it was unbelievable that the tour even continued given how disgusting the property was. I have never felt that uncomfortable during a tour in my life. It was genuinely unsettling. Renters deserve clean, safe, and professionally managed housing--not this level of neglect and dysfunction. Between the condition of the property and the complete incompetence at the corporate level, this place is a hard NO. Save yourself the stress, the risk, and the regret. Look elsewhere. I highly recommend this family hire a PROFESSIONAL property management company to take over because clearly they can't handle it. I've worked this industry, it's a tough job. While the initial month was positive when my daughter rented a property under their management, things quickly went downhill. This reached a nadir over the final two months of the lease. A number of charges were posted against the account. While I can appreciate that utilities need to be paid, I don't understand how it is possible that an entire year of charges accumulated on the management's end without any notification to the tenants. It is inconceivable to me that any company with cash flow controls would let this happen. Further, I never understood why some miscellaneous magically appeared on our bill. As an example, we were asked to pay a $100 charge for "stucco." There was no accident. There was no damage. This was suspicious. Another example of this company's bizarre management of funds is that our family received a legal eviction notice AFTER our daughter (and all her roommate) had moved out of the unit. HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN?!?!?! The final straw occurred three weeks after vacating the rental unit. There was a $1300 charge against the deposit for painting. This was after getting the "all clear" from the management during the move out inspection. How is it possible that routine expenses should be charged against our deposit. Watch out for this company and be very, very cautious if you either rent from them or engage them to manage your rental property. If the way they pay attention to their cash flow is any indication to the way that they pay attention to the properties, look out!!!!! I would NEVER ever have anything to do with them in the future.
