I recommend this place over tractor supply as their prices are too high and they have a minimum quantity requirement read more

excellent store, I have always been able to find what I need there. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

Mesa feed barn has great chicken scratch for a great piece! 50lb bag for $20 bucks! Can't beat that! And the employees are so helpful, my chicken has an eye issue and he was so helpful and knowledgeable on what to do to help her!! They also have baby chicks for sale!! I would say this is the place to go for your chicken needs! read more

I've been in here at least a couple dozen times over the years. The team members are always friendly & helpful. We buy Ace-Hi Chicken Scratch & Layer Pellet & Crumble from here on a regular basis. They have a decent variety of stuff for chickens & livestock. We even buy bird feed for our Macaw here. They also sell different types of hay. I'm always in & out with no wait unlike the bigger feed stores. If you're lucky they may have chicks when you go in (even though they are hard to find now a days.) I think I heard them say that they typically get chicks in on Thursdays when the mail is delivered. read more

Five stars for straw delivery from Shelby... My husband found Mesa Feed Barn a few years back when we were preparing to host Thanksgiving... We were seeking hay stacks and Mesa Feed Barn had what we needed. We've been using them annually ever since. Our needs are a bit niche with stacks of straw delivered and picked up for Thanksgiving each year, but I wouldn't hesitate to seek out Mesa Feed Barn for other products if I lived close by. We've been pleased with our service, the pricing, and professionalism at MFB. We hope to continue to support this local business for years to come! read more

Pros and cons here. The gentleman that takes my money always seems to be helpful. They frequently have a fair supply of chicks when the season allows. They have a selection of supplies that I can typically use on my dogs in sizes made for livestock (horses/cattle/pigs) but I consider useful to have on hand. They honor coupons too. Questionable business practice - accepting a Purina coupon for scratch and then giving me some unknown brand and telling me you never carry Purina scratch and that they're "all the same". Something is wrong with this... read more

Mesa Feed Barn has everything we need for all of our livestock and domestic animals. And if they don't have it, they will find it. This family owned business is exactly that. From the time you walk in you feel like part of the family. They are very helpful and knowledgeable. The store is always clean, stocked and the prices are very competitive. Best of all their hours of operation meet my hectic schedule. Centrally located on Broadway and Mesa Dr. their location is convenient and easy to find. Hat's off to Mesa Feed Barn for being there when we need them! -Jeannie Flynn read more

I have been coming to Mesa Feed Barn for a number of years, mostly for Wild Bird Food in 50 pound bags about once a month. It may not sound like much to larger customers at the store, but I am treated like all of the other customers. Always cheerful and ready to help. Someone always takes the bag out to my pick up and loads it in the rear while I am paying for it. I have seen them do the same for other customers. Kind of puts a smile on my face every time that I enter the store!!! David E. Wright, Mesa, AZ read more

I have house birds. Two cockatoos and a conure. Been buying hookbill feed from them for sometime now. Didn't want to make the drive and ordered from another company. Big mistake. I'm getting seed thrown everywhere....so I know the birds are pissed. I'm off to the feed barn to correct my "mistake". Pissed off cockatoos are not fun! read more

This place isn't hard to find at all. It's on the north side of Broadway, west 1-3 buildings of Mesa Dr. I would love to give a better review / rating, but my experience was just okay. I needed organic chick(en) feed, but it wouldn't be in until Thursday. Seems they order baby chicks about once a week - something I couldn't find in any reviews - from Murray McMurray hatchery. I'm curious if they'll add a partial order to their weekly order; this would save a huge shipping cost and potentially a large order requirement. Selection was decent. Employees were empathetic, friendly and helpful. Prices were okay - nothing to write home about, but also not a huge gouge. I look forward to dealing with them more, and hopefully updating and positively increasing my review. read more

I came here a few weeks ago, looking for some chicken stuff. As I walked in the door I was immediately addressed in a very abrupt way by a man who works there. He asked what I was looking for, so I told him, he then said we dont have that here and would not allow me to look around. He made me feel uncomfortable I will never recommend this place. Go to tractor supply instead THEY ARE ALWAYS FRIENDLY. read more

I have coming here for almost too many years to admit, ha ha. Very cool barn they are in. I have always bought food here for my boys and girls. Several of my long time pets came from here. One duck that lived to be 17 years old! Got my girls here too (laying hens). Beautiful Light Brahmas and my little red hens that lay blue and green eggs. It just feels like home to me and brings back memories of going to the feed store with my dad when I was a kid. read more

I love this place...I've been come here for 10years, for chicken scratch and bird food their always so nice..I don't mine the drive since I live in Gilbert...their prices are awesome..... read more

Hard to find as you have to go down a side street that is gravel and looks like you might be able to buy some crack and a bj. Shady. Pulled right in, told the Dude what I wanted, paid, he loaded 3 bales of hay, and was on my way! read more

I've been buying my dog food here for a long time, ever since that Chinese dog food poison scandal. I buy Ace Hi which is made in the USA and priced right at $21 for 40 pounds. They have lots of other stuff not just stuff for farm animals but pets too. I buy the five and one shots for my dogs also, saves a trip to the vet and a whole bunch of money. Friendly service too! read more

I go here often, and they usually never have what I need or want in the way of supplies and the staff is differing in helpfullness and friendliness. If I get the boss man, he's always right there at the door and doesn't mind having a chat with you, tries to help you the best he can and get you taken care of. Some of the others run a blank stare while you're raising an eyebrow at them not knowing if they have something and don't check. I have called on a couple occasions asking if they had certain things, gone there to get it "We stopped selling that" or "We've never had that." But...I just called and someone told me they DID. Sigh... I can't let that stop me though. They have the most and cheapest ingredients I need for my show poultry feed. I take great pride in my show animals and I bring in my list of what I need for my mix and they get me taken care of. NEVER have I gotten any buggy, moldy or bad feed from this place. They take good care of their supply and always have a constant in and out of things. Plus, they know you and your car just about the first time you come. You tell them what you need, they disappear and you turn around waiting for them to come back, and they're back in a flash saying "You're all set!" or they've got it all on the dolly and at you're car. They load it with ease and wish you well on your way out. I can't beat the prices for my feed and trustworthy cleanliness and quality of the feed. Even though some of the staff are lacking in the social area, it's still great service. By the way, Mesa also carries the GOOD pet food. Not the bad stuff like Purina, Pedigree and Ol Roy! Check out what you're really feeding your dog and cats and give them the better food! Buy the good food here and cheaper than Pet Club in Mesa for about $2 cheaper! PS, they also carry dog vaccines at good prices. Just bring a baggie with ice in it as it has to stay cold and they didn't provide one when we got one. read more

As feed stores go this is pretty good. This is not Starbucks so service is more a guy thing than some of you might prefer. Everybody I have worked with has been courteous and efficient. I get hay in big loads and they always load it and do a good job. Prices are always competitive and they have what I need. I agee that they sometimes will tell you they have an item and then when you show up there may be an different story. I am always specific when I call though and that rarely happens to me. You may feel they don't care if you stop in or not but that is more a product of youth in the staff than owners attitude. They run a good feed store and the feed is clean. Over all I like them and reccomend them. read more

I've been going to Mesa Feed Barn for years, for either dog food, rabbit or chicken feed and even hay. Prices are good, customer service is great, they'll even load up your car or truck with your purchase without asking. Very easy to find it's right on Broadway just west of Mesa Dr. There's a big sign you can't miss it. read more

I didn't have a good experience here. First time in. I knew what I needed and how much it is, but when I went over and pointed to a bag of pellets and it rang up 12.50 I wasn't happy. I said it's usually half that price. The guy completely ignored me. I ended up buying it anyways. Then the other guy who put it in my car ignored me too! I said "do you guys always charge 12.50 for that?" He didn't say a thing. Super weird! Then I said "cause I always buy that stuff for 6.00". No response. I'll never go back. read more

I have been here a couple times now and each time has been a great experience.
