I made an appointment and took my pup to the self wash a few weeks ago at the Power & McDowell location . The girl working there was very sweet, informative, and kind. There was another person who walked in at the same time as my appointment and she made sure that since I had made the appointment I went first. It was very clean and cute inside. The self wash area was wonderful. The large basin with the steps for dogs made it so much easier than trying to wrestle my new pup in the kitchen sink or bath tub at home and the sprayer/ hose was awesome. They had every thing I needed right there to give my puppy a good scrub and provided towels and dryers to dry her off with after. I would and have recommended that other people go there and do the self wash it's much easier than doing it at home. read more

This is such a great little shop. Each time I visit I'm greeted warmly and enthusiastically by people who remember me, and genuinely want to help. It's your little, local, neighborhood pet store. I am very particular about the dog food I buy, as I used to work in a similar pet store during college. I'm used to knowing more about the dog foods than the people who work at a pet store, but not in this store! Staff are extremely knowledgeable and I assume have similar training to those I had, these people really care about the health of your pet, and ask all the right questions to make sure you are feeding healthy dog food that is great for your dog, and even within your price range! There are frequent buyer programs for many of the foods (for Acana and Orijen, for example), and often there are vendors or specials going on- like a doggie selfie Halloween set-up (currently), or a fundraising event for pets in need. Once I stopped by and received free samples of Grandma Lucy's dog food and treats! I even heard stories about people bringing in their non-canine friends, like chickens and parrots into the store, and I know there are special treat deal days (I think Fridays). I Was at the grocery store next door, on 7/10/20, and thought I'd run in really quick to see what kind of long-lasting chew treats they had for sale. It was my first visit and I can't wait to return. I very impressed with the salesperson's knowledge of the products and strong desire to help me find products that were of interest to me. He asked several questions about my pets to determine the best options and choices. I am now a huge fan of this store and am looking forward to spending a lot more time shopping here for my four dogs. The store was so well organized, very clean and offered a wide range of different products that were unique and high quality. I usually love Pet Planet. We've only ever been treated well and received great customer service. Today was very different. I walked in with my two dogs with a nail appointment I had made online. The woman immediately told me I had made my appointment incorrectly by making a small dog appointment. She went on to tell me why I had made the wrong appointment saying they had different rooms and so forth. I checked my email and I had said that my dogs were over 40lbs. Not once did she assure me they would get in anyway. Finally after repeating my mistake several times to me and making sure I was aware I messed up she said that it would just be a small wait and they would get them in. I am rarely a Karen or pushed to the extent of frustration she pushed me to. In the end my dogs got right in and there was no issue. My husband walked in at some point and was shocked to see me so upset. Like I said at the beginning, I usually love the store and have only encountered extremely friendly people. This was a much different experience and I hope to go back, but to never see her again. read more

Came to check out the new pet store in the area after a friend told me about a unique dog dish she purchased that looked like a maze to help dogs slow down when eating their food. Our sales girls was super friendly and asked right away if we needed any help and told us their promotion deal buy 5 items and get 10% off. We only purchased 3 items and we still got a proportional discount. Cute pet store with a variety of dog bones you can purchase in bulk not prepackaged. The dog bones come in all sizes and you can scoop up as many as you need. They had cute Christmas items for your pets and we purchase a squeaky gingerbread man for our dogs for 5.99. The have a variety of quality dog food as well. What was unique they also provide a self wash station. You can wash your dog in their stainless steel sink, no bending over in the bathtub, I thought that was a unique idea. read more

I usually order from Chewy.com, but when they sent me the wrong food and I was completely out I had to go looking for this high end dog food close. Other pet food locations don't sell the dog food I buy, so when I went to pet planet I was pleasantly surprised they had many of the high end options. Aside from the options, the sales associates are so knowledgeable in the different dog foods and brands. I did buy the wrong type of dog food one time and my dog would not eat it, Pet planet was happy to take it back and let me get the correct one. This location also has dog wash area that is pretty cheap and lots of room for the washes. They have so many specialty options for toys, treats and foods. I love the fact that this location has a self-serve bathing station. I have a mild allergy to dogs, but I refuse to give up my babies. Instead, I wash them every week with a special allergy shampoo that cuts down on dander and other allergens on their skin/fur. It's a serious hassle to wash my greyhound in the tub at home, so I decided to give Pet Planet's self-serve station a go. I will never bathe my dogs at home again. They provide the towels, the shampoo (if needed - I bring my own), the conditioner...pretty much everything you'd need to wash your dogs. The wash station is in its own room at the back of the store and it's SO helpful when you have more than one dog. Whilst one is in the tub, I don't have to worry about holding onto the other. The staff here are also extremely helpful and friendly and will carry large bags of food out to your car if needed. read more

Yesterday i rescued a dog from the pound. I wanted to give him a bath before i took him home and knew they had a self serve washing station so we decided to take him here. The new owner was so friendly and she helped me get him up in the bathtub since he was still a little scared. But once we got him in there he loved it! The water was warm and they supply 3 different types of shampoos, a conditioner, a towel to dry him and a blow dryer! After we got done we looked around and found dog food and treats for a reasonable price. I loved that they had nice 1 ingredient treats for my dog.
