Occasonally it slips the collar. By then the cat escapes. I do not want to hurt the neck of the beast in the tussle. He needed a harness. The pet shop a mile away had only small dog harnesses. Would not work. I've gone to Gordon's several times over the years. I noticed quite a selection in their cabinet. Sure enough, they offered me one harness, on sale, kind of tactical or servive animal style but too covering and heavy for a beast living outdoors - with a beast-pool, three sources of water, lots of shade. I do not want to crank up adrenalin and cortisol levels of pet mommies and daddies. The best gets good care, even at 117/47.2 C. I did not want the leather harness with 1" pointy studs, nor other more expensive models. I just wanted to control the beast while oreserving his neck and throat. I finally found a simple nylon strap harness, in safety green that is good rnough. I put it on the beast when we walk and travel outside. It works great. As I checkrd out I found dog treats - tennis shoe, fire hydrant. Fun. They also showed me a resonably priced dack of dog food I eill soon be trying. Thank you Gordon's

Customer service is always at 100%; employees show care, look genuinely happy to be there, give great advice about the dog food, and they always offer to carry your items to your car. I greatly appreciate this family owned shop having the advantage of returns when your dog doesn't like the food. All they ask is to return it in its original packaging. I was off by one letter "Pura" vs. "Pure". She just replied, "No, we don't carry that." This was my first experience after Gordy's Goodies closing, and will look elsewhere next time for my new regular spot. Not only rude and speak down to customers but obviously not knowledgeable about dog food brands.

Please, please drive far away to get your dog groomed... Id hate to run into you and your "tude" on a beautiful day. I have been bringing my dog to this store for years now. I like many others suffered a lot during the economic down turn as I worked in the finance industry. When I lost my job one of the groomers was grooming my dog at store cost and not taking a profit. I had no idea she was doing this, I just though she was giving me a great discount, until recently. She never said anything to me about her working for free ( I of course tipped her, but still, she took a huge cut in pay), her main concern was my dog. She wanted him to look good, but more importantly feel good and be healthy, to make sure his nails were clipped so he didn't suffer and to ensure his ears were "plucked" of fur to make sure he didn't get any ear infections amongst other things. Things have turned around of course and I am happily paying full price plus a minimum 30% tip at every visit. My groomer, Shaun, (sorry If I spelled your name wrong girl!!) is amazing. She absolutely LOVES all of the animals that come into her shop and treats them as if they are her own pets. The proof is in the pudding. In a recession she chose to work for pennies for me, and never said anything to me about it. Like I said, I just found out how much she financially sacrificed for my pet to make sure he was taken care of. Everyone in grooming knows my "lil one" by name and they genuinely seem happy to see him when we come in. He actually gets excited when we pull in to petco. When he sees Ms. Shaun he's more than happy to leave my side and go get some love from her. And of course they do a GREAT job. He's a mini Schnauzer and he always leaves looking like a show dog! Lastly, he has diabetes. And there is an associate there who is EXTREMELY knowledgeable about the disease. She really loves animals and has given me so much helpful info that has helped me cope with his disease. She even went as far as to bring in her extra syringes (her baby passed away recently and he had diabetes) for my dog. These people really care about animals and their owners lol. So go visit them!!

Obviously a dedicated reptile shop may serve your reptile needs better, but Petsmart is a great generalist store with some of everything. We go often for our doggie needs as well as for our freshwater aquarium and reptile needs. My Pug has gone thru their dog training and it was a decent program. The trainer was very professional and dedicated to the craft and put up with the crazy antics of our pug. Ive never had any issues with the dog grooming and everytime my other dog gets serviced, she looks like a million bucks. FYI their return policy is 60 days. Overall, PetsMart is a very vital part of the community and I'm glad it exists.

We have always been supporters of Pratt's but they have seriously let us and all their animals…read moredown! My fiancé had a ranch about 20 years ago and used to go to Pratt's all the time to buy animals for his ranch and sell his babies to Pratt's. There was a good old time family vibe then. They educated people about the animals they purchased and were very helpful. Now, my fiancé and I have a ranch together and we were starting from scratch. We went to Pratt's to get the same camaraderie and care that he had from Pratt's in the past. But we had found out the hard way that it is absolutely nothing like it used to be! Their animals are always sick and stressed and in bad living conditions. All of the chickens we have purchased from there were sick with a very contagious virus. They have respiratory distress and very lethargic and their eyes swell up and fill with puss. We gave them antibiotics but that did not help them. Every single chicken we bought from there had died. And the worst part is it spreads to the rest of our flock. Once the flock is infected you cannot get rid of it. U literally have to start fresh with healthy chickens. My fiancé had told Oscar the manager about this issue. At first he was understanding and willing to replace the chickens. Once we sent him pictures of the birds that perished he changed his tone and said "Why are you the only ones with birds dying?" We have stopped buying chickens from there but have continued to buy feed from there. We can't help but to go and look at all the animals and unfortunately they are always in poor living conditions and clearly very sick and even dead birds in the cages. The staff they have there at this point are very unhelpful and uneducated about the product they sell and uneducated about the animals they sell! We ask them a question about an animal and they look at us like we have a third eye growing out of our heads! They walk away without answering our questions or even getting our feed for us. We are out so much money from what we have bought from there and all the loss we have had from the sick chickens infecting the rest of our flock and they died. We had bought a female goat that was supposedly pregnant and they just wanted to get rid of her before she gave birth... well she wasn't pregnant. Then We had bought another female goat from them against our better judgment because she looked miserable and we wanted a companion for our first goat but She was "Not for sale" due to being sick... We said we want her to give her a fighting chance. She coughs and sneezes and has discharge from her lady parts. Pratt's just does not care about the health and well being of their animals! We will never purchase any animals from them again!! It's such a shame that these animals have to suffer!!
