I have gone to this location for over a year now and I have enjoyed every time I visit. I started coming here for the value of their dog food. I wanting to give better ingredients to my senior dog. Customer service is always at 100%; employees show care, look genuinely happy to be there, give great advice about the dog food, and they always offer to carry your items to your car. I greatly appreciate this family owned shop having the advantage of returns when your dog doesn't like the food. All they ask is to return it in its original packaging. I've grown up with dogs my whole life, and currently have two. Tempe Feed has been the single most helpful pet store I've ever used, and they've been my main go to place for food and advice for a few years now. They have an excellent selection of dog and cat foods, both dry and raw/wet, for great prices compared to other stores. On top of that, the family that runs the store are some of the most educated people I've met when it comes to animals. They always have excellent advice and recommendations when your pet has an issue, and on top of that they are actually licensed to sell certain medications. I tried a new bag of food for my dog and it was not sitting well with him and I was able to return the bag for a different kind of food. My cousin highly recommended going to Tempe Feed after she sought out help for her German shepherd puppy. My biggest regret was that I didn't go sooner. I mentioned that I have been researching what foods would be the best to feed to Tucker because he deserves the BEST, but just like everything on the internet it's overwhelming and trying to figure out which options are legitimate versus commercially intended were very difficult to filter thru. Not only did they spent time and educated us on feeding Tucker a highly nutritious diet I was also surprised at how inexpensive it ended up being as well. Every employee I've encountered was friendly, but more importantly, knowledgeable about chickens! I have questions every time I come in.... Should I give my chicks electrolytes in their water? Should I go with organic or natural food? What kind of snacks can I give the birds? Why is my smallest bird not laying eggs? Without fail, they've always had answers and advice for me. I love that this is a local business and even better - it's family owned and operated!! They are small but the store is jam packed with supplies for cats, dogs, chickens, horses, you name it! They sell real cat and dog food - you know, the kind with protein and ingredients you recognize, not just animal by-products and corn meal. In my opinion, pets are part of the family and deserve to eat real food so it's worth the extra money. The quality of the products and the helpfulness of the staff keep me coming back. Tempe Feed and Tack is 1,000 times better than any Petco or Petsmart. While they may not offer as many products, you'll find all the essentials here. Robin & all the staff are incredibly helpful. My elderly foster, now adopted dog, was having massive allergy issues (most likely thx to toxic vaccines ruining her gut) & they have spent what seems like hours answering questions & offering advice on diets. We now have her on Bravo raw that they carry & it's changed her life! Her nonstop itching has entirely subsided, the hair is growing back, her coat is now soft instead of wiry and it seems as though her arthritis has diminished to the point of nonexistent. Best store experience I've ever had. I went in with my new rat terrier puppy and Arthur had such a lovely and informative conversation with us. He coached us on doing a raw diet and gave us lots of helpful tips for doing our own vaccines (which ones, when, how, etc.). He was incredibly generous with samples and highly valuable information. The store itself is adorable and everything is very affordable. My total amount for my purchases was about half what I was expecting. Their stuff is also high quality. Just over the phone, I felt that he educated me more on the topic than anyone else has ever taken the time to. I went in person right away with my pooch and was greeted by all the helpful staff immediately. I ended up talking to Arthur about my dog's specific needs and he explained everything very thoroughly. I felt that he really cared enough to listen to me without trying to sell me products that I didn't need and even provided me with samples that have worked wonders for my dog.
