Came in expecting a bougie, cat-obsessed wonderland... got more of a "solid local shop with some flair." They do have a nice variety of food options (found a couple goodies my little hunter will absolutely demolish), but the toy selection was kinda meh. Lots of catnip stuff... which is great if your cat is into that, but mine prefers to straight-up destroy anything already, can't imagine her on the nip just yet. I was hoping for more durable, non-catnip, "won't be shredded in 4 minutes" options. Found a couple things that might survive her wrath, with a few removal of smaller pieces, so we'll see. Overall, good spot, friendly enough, worth popping into if you're nearby, but not quite the specialty treasure trove I had in mind. I'll be back... just not, like, weekly. read more

This is one of the best local businesses I discovered in 2024! Back in July, my 15 year old fur baby got diagnosed w/ Stage 4 Kidney Disease. The vet educated me about how her diet needed to be changed to foods low in phosphorus, high in protein & sent me home w/ the standard Renal Diet starter kit by Royal Canin. As a human who sees a Naturopathic Doc AND a regular Doc, I was curious what a local natural pet food store would suggest. I called and had the good fortune that Martha picked up the phone! When this woman heard about my cat's diagnosis, she launched into a mini tutorial about Feline Chronic Kidney Disease. She must've spent 20 minutes on the phone with me, obviously passionate and knowledgeable about animals. She told me she had created a "cheat sheet" of sorts that I could get a copy of: it lists all the brands of food from the lowest phosphorus content to the highest. Knowing more about this my cats illness eased my worries. Once I got to NB, I learned they carried, Daves & Weruva's, both good for Renal Diets. Then I learned that Martha is one of the owners and was so touched at how much time she spent with me on the phone. So kind! She's the real deal about caring about your pets/fur babies. NB gave me a copy of the Cheat Sheet that lists/compared most all the Feline Chronic Kidney Disease wet food. Thank y'all so much for the guidance! P.S. I was very excited for them to also have the Stella & Chewy Raw Blend Cat Food in stock since I have had a lot of difficulty with finding this. Love this little shop. They always have something new to look at in regards to toys and they carry some amazing brands that don't hurt my baby's belly! The only thing I don't buy here for her is her litter because they don't have cheap scent free clay litter like the big chains do. The customer service is always top notch. My dog loves this store as so do I ! It is in a perfect location right on Camelback road near 7th Street. Although the store is on the small side, the selection of healthy and natural dog food is amazing. The owner is soooo nice and will help you find the best product for your pet. (yes they do have some cat items as well). There is a full selection of toys, grooming supplies, supplements, food, and of course treats! Noble Beast also supports local rescue organizations by having dogs to adopt on site as well as hosing events where donations can be made. I am so happy to have a store like this in the city, but I think my dog is even happier!! PS They have a store mascot dog names Otis who is a Pug- he will be more than happy to say hi! read more

First time at the Noble Beast and was very disappointed on the customer services. Walked in to buy a couple of back packs for my dogs for hiking, I ask the man at the counter where they were. He pointed and said "there over there." For some reason I presumed he was the owner. He never gave me no help in sizes. My husband was in the car with our dogs. I called him on the phone to come in so I could fit them with these back pack halters. When he came in one of our dogs slipped from my husbands hand, the man behind the counter said in a really mean voice said "get ahold of your dog!!" My husband looked at me very puzzled. That was it! I told my husband let's go! There is no way I would buy a dam thing from this man! True story. So very sad there are people like this man in the pet store market. read more

I love this pet store! It has everything that I could ever need to keep my dogs happy and healthy. Love that they offer so many good dog food selections and treats also. Sometimes if you're lucky they have sales/deals on certain brands. For anyone who also has senior dogs, they sell open farms kibble for seniors that my fur babies really seem to enjoy. TMI but their bowel movements have been looking very healthy since switching over to a more premium kibble. The price is truly unbeatable compared to a lot of other pet stores out there too. I would know only because I actually went around the area looking! The employees are super knowledgeable and are always willing to help out if you have any questions or concerns. Wow. I have never been to a store with owners so invested in their business! They were very friendly in greeting us and explaining their mission for the store. One of the owners walked around with us, explained a few different food options to us, and even answered a few random questions we had - and we scored a couple of doggie balm/lotion samples! They carry EVERY great brand of food here - lots of canned variety as well! Weruva, Evangers, Honest Kitchen, SoJos, Acana, Orijen, EVO, TOTW, Solid Gold, Wellness, Primal - they carry the chubs, patties/nuggets, and treats -, Nature's Variety Instinct... they even have EVO food for ferrets! They have a host of natural dog chews, toys, holistic dog treatments, dental products, and a nice selection of really cool and modern cat toys. The selection of collars/leashes is pretty small. Oooh - and the pricing is great! Even cheaper than my fave OC pet food store on some items! It IS a little smaller, so they only had 1 type and size of Acana available - but this is totally the place that they would order what you wanted and hold it for you, and probably carry it to your car as well. They have some samples of the raw if you want to try that, and some frozen dog treats in the freezer. I like it, and my pup loved the dogs inside, so score for us! We walked out with a toothbrush for the pup (Happy pet's dental health month!) and a Zuke's carrot dental chew. read more

I really love this small family run pet supply store. I've been coming here for years and always see the same friendly people running the shop. They have all the premium foods and carefully curated selection of treats and toys and accessories. One thing I really like is that you can always count on the food being fresh, they don't have 20 bags of the same thing which means that the product your buying hasn't been sitting. Occasionally it means that they won't have your food in stock, but if you plan ahead they'll have a fresh bag for you within a week depending on when you go in. We were there on Saturday and they only had a small bag of the puppy food we needed, but like clockwork they called today and had it ready for me when I arrived. This is a great local business to support if you love animals. You will find unique things in the store that you won't find anywhere else. They even have chicken feed! read more

As someone who once worked in the wholistic pet industry for many years I can confidently say these guys put a lot of thought and great care into the products they carry. When I moved here I shopped around at many small pet businesses trying to find the best one, and one I trusted. My cat eats a raw diet and while they don't have very much of a raw selection, the brands they do carry are fantastic. This goes for their dry and canned food as well. Hell even the treats, supplements, and toys are also top tier when it comes to quality ingredients, reliable brands, and excellent sourcing. I'm not a dog person, but as I consider myself fairly knowledgeable on wholistic pet health I can assure you that this applies to their dog selection as well. Plus-- If they don't have what you're looking for they will special order it assuming their vendors stock the product. Sweet! The only downside I seem to find is that the staff doesn't seem quite as knowledgeable as I would expect. Perhaps it's the owner who I haven't met yet that carries all the wisdom. Anytime I have a question or need a recommendation the response I receive doesn't make me feel super confident. Customer service is hit or miss, but ultimately they keep me happy and I'll never pick another pet shop in the valley! read more

MEOW! This place is great - super clean, loaded with an amazing assortment of natural foods for both pooches and kitties, and two fridges jammed full with raw diet selections! My four-footed kids were in heaven going through the bags! Not wanting to offend anyone in my bunch (it's impossible to travel anywhere with three dogs and two cats, while simultaneously maintaining any level of decorum), I went solo this weekend to support the latest AzRESCUE effort being sponsored by the store. In addition to them sending me home with a complimentary Yoghund for each of the kids, I got some great insight to private training that my youngest is in desperate need of if he ever hopes to be socially acceptable, and some great toys for the felines. The staff was unbelievably nice, they have some truly unique items, and the prices range from "wow that's pretty cheap" to OMG do I dare?!!! This is a great option to the chains and big box stores, so grab your leash, wag that tail, and pad your way on down to the Noble Beast!!! read more

From a cat owner's perspective: I first visited after the last killer-pet-food scare. Noble Beast is a great alternative to the Petco/PetSmart axis of giantism. As I live solo, I tend to indulge my little co-pilot. Noble Beast is the go-to place for kitty swank. NB carries all kinds of natural and organic cat food. They have great toys from Smart Cat and other vendors, and all kinds of fabulous stuff for clean-up (green tea cat wipes, anyone?) and transport. If you haven't seen the sleepypod cat bed/carrier, check it out. It's a splendid design. Of course, to get my cat to sleep in a $200 bed, I would have to also buy a $400 bed for her to ignore. The people at Noble Beast are super-knowledgeable, empathetic, and helpful. It can be a bit disorienting to see all these non-mainstream products, so ask questions. You'll get a thoughtful answer every time. read more

After checking Petsmart and Amazon for my picky cat I found Noble Beast. A few months ago we got our lovely cat who we named David Bowie from a neighbor who has too many cats. He's 5 years old and for his entire life has only eaten canned food and not a highly quality canned food either. A friend of mine suggested freeze dried food and that's where Noble Beast comes in. The gentleman that I met today was so helpful. I bought a small bag of Stella & Chewy's and gave one of the morsels as a treat. He immediately gobbled it up and begged for me. This is a BIG day in our household. I can finally see a future in which I don't have to get up at 5:45 in the morning to feed him. Petsmart is like shopping at WalMart... Do you grocery shop at WalMart? If you do, then you probably feed your dog Gravy Train... im sure you and your family are healthy, fit and well adjusted. Chances are you dont Yelp, so this isnt for you. If you care about feeding your best friend a better meal, then check out Noble Beast. This place has a great selection of awesome natural food and treats. Unfortunately they dont carry the Organic Grain Free brand that i buy for my boy... Taste of the Wild. After Oliver and Annie closed I had to find a new place to buy my furry children some food. Noble Beast is a good replacement for O&A and I'm glad there is another wonderful, local pet store. The couple of times I have gone here the service is always great. Someone has always greeted me with a smile and I like that. They don't sell the cat food I had been feeding my cats, so I went with a new kind which I wasn't sure the cats would like (and they didn't), so the person working that day gave me a bunch of little samples to take home and I'm glad she did. I found a few in the bunch that the cats like to eat, so I'm feeding the cats Dick Van Patten's cat food. I guess after "Eight is Enough" the man needed something to do. Since I'm not big on stores like Petsmart, I'm happy that places like Noble Beast are around. read more

I live a good 30 minutes from this store, but make a point of shopping here. Not only are the products top rate, but their staff is knowledgeable and their prices great. Last weekend I wasn't able to get into Noble Beast so stopped at a pet store in North Phoenix (off 67th Ave and the 101) and was fleeced on food. Same items at this store cost me $20 more than at Noble Beast. I also like the Wag N Wash, but unless you can catch one of the brothers, their staff changes too often. Noble Beast is consistently good. I trust the people who work there and they appreciate their customers. You aren't a number or a walking wallet to this store. read more

In the middle of Phoenix it's difficult to find a pet store that carries everything that you need. I came to the store because I was in need of chicken feed. Their prices were twice as much as the other feed stores in town. That doesn't bother me, as I have the choice to either buy or not buy. What did bother me was the merchants attitude to the question I posed. Quite simply I asked, respectfully, why are your products twice as much is what I normally pay.
