I have been bringing my male dachshund here for grooming for the past six years, ever since he was a puppy. I recently also began bringing my female dachshund. This was her second visit, and while I acknowledge she can be a bit of a handful, my male dachshund is very calm and well-behaved. Both dogs were dropped off in perfect condition. However, when I picked them up, I immediately noticed my male dachshund was in distress. His tail was tucked, and he began whimpering when I put his harness on. Once we reached the car, it became clear he was in pain--his lower body was trembling, and he whimpered even with minimal touch. Dachshunds are extremely sensitive with their backs, and this behavior is completely out of character for him. I immediately called the store to ask whether anything may have happened during his grooming, including whether he may have been picked up or handled incorrectly. I was told nothing occurred. I know my dog well, and something is clearly wrong. Additionally, my female dachshund had a cut on her leg upon pickup. Both dogs are short-haired, so this injury is concerning. After arriving home and further inspecting my male dachshund, I contacted the manager again. I was told the cameras were reviewed and that nothing had happened. I would have greatly preferred honesty and clarity. As a result of his condition, I am now taking my male dachshund to the veterinarian. Unfortunately, this experience has shown a lack of care and accountability. Staff turnover has clearly impacted the quality of service. This is our favorite location. Our corgi loves to come here for treats and toys. We also come here for their great PAW-dicure service. The dog groomers are always very friendly and careful with our dog especially the times he gets a little nervous with the dremel. The staff overall in this store has treated us well and are very professional. I enjoy the rewards programs so Petsmart is our go to pet shop and this is our go to location. They also had a great free Santa photo opportunity for your pets at this location and it was super cute! read more

Great job Carla for doing a full service grooming on family dog , thick coat , hairy Australian Shepard . First time at this location very happy with the result . Much needed for current 100 degree temperatures in May . The fulmination treatment to thin the coat was well worth as an extra, He was there 2.5 hours and done earlier than projected . They called to inform me of completion. Very busy grooming salon inside of store near FRYS and inn n out burger . Big busy parking lot and underground parking also close by . It's sad how downhill petsmart has gone as a company ESPECIALLY this location! I've noticed the high turnover rate here at the grooming salon (which is usually always a reflection of poor management) and just overall the bad energy in there the last few times I have been in. And one of these groomers here seems to seriously HATE their job.... While I was in the lobby waiting to pick up my dog the other day after her haircut, one of the groomers was working on this dog and she was CURSING at it ! Being all aggresive with this pet....there was another person in the lobby with me and we both just looked at each other in shock . I'm sure dog grooming is a very hard job but that is not an excuse. It genuinely doesn't even seem like this person likes dogs ! There is no reason to be aggressive like that with a dog let alone a dog who is probably already PETRIFIED to be there in the first place...aren't these people supposed to be gentle with our pets!? Help them get comfortable at the grooming salon? Aren't they the professionals ?!? This was NOT PROFESSIONAL or okay at all. I dont know what this groomers name was unfortunately but she was a tall slender white woman and kind of had a mullet and short hair. She was verbally abusive and just overall nasty to the poor dog. I have never seen anything like it. The other groomers in the salon didn't seem to be phased at all!! Which makes me think this is a regular occurrence with this specific groomer. HOW AWFUL. It put such a bad taste in my mouth. Where is the management ??? This is unacceptable! Once one of the other groomers brought my dog up I got the hell out of there. I am so scared for my dog to ever have this groomer. So I don't think I will ever come back to this location let alone petsmart ever again! They're so many better salons to give your money to where people don't take their anger out on these innocent animals!! Where they hire people who genuinely love dogs, have patience and the emotional STABILITY to take care of your dog while providing a good grooming service. I hope that groomer reconsiders her profession and finds something more up her alley because dog grooming is certainly not it. I live for this deal! In store this is a great deal. Sometimes the online coupons can be better but I'm a frequent flyer at this location. I have a lab and he loves the simplynourish brand (kinda pricey) and can go to TOWN on the bully sticks. Petsmart it also great as price matching which is awesome. Store is always clean and they always welcome you when you walk in. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is their prices are a little high these days and some items like the beds, you don't have a ton of choices. I brought my cat in for a full bath and trim... it's almost like the so called groomer did not even care that the job was half done.. I know this was my cats first time at the groomer however, I know my cat is not aggressive ( actually really docile! ) He LOVES belly rubs/brush and doesn't mind water either.. the job that was half done was not because my cat was being non-compliant, but because an employee obviously did not care! defiantly not worth $95! Avoid this location!!! First off I'm not one to usually leave a negative review but this one is a must because never in any store have my wife and I been treated more rudely much less at a pet store where employees tend to typically be more empathetic and polite. There was two female employees running the two cash registers by the door, one of which had apparently decided to bring her dog to work... so the young lady at the register we went ringing us up was obnoxiously rude not only with the way she spoke to us but also with her facial expressions towards us. Not to mention, she left us waiting for her at the register while doing something else so, me being the pet lover I am I decided to pet the dog that was lounging on the floor between the registers ... It was at least 10 seconds after the fact the co worker decided to turn around and tell me I need to ask permission next time before I pet her dog??? Really? First of all don't bring your dog to work and expect someone not to put it in a pet store. Second of all it's unprofessional, and third of all it was obnoxiously rude to wait so long after the fact to tell me to ask permission!!! As if I'm I'm ever going to go into that store again after that experience anyway... I'm not sure what kind of operation they're running in that store or if the manager is aware of it but shoppers beware there's two obnoxiously rude young ladies that operate the registers there... DO NOT BRING YOUR PET TO BE GROOMED HERE! This is my first negative review I've ever written but I wish I read more of these comments before booking an appointment at this location. I booked a 9am appointment for my cat to have a full bath and haircut at this specific Petsmart location groomers. Backstory: my cat has been to other Petsmart location before to be groomed, our favorite groomer is out of town, but this location was brand new. I always give my cat anti anxiety remedies to help, and he has never had issues getting groomed. We were the first appointment of the day, went over the usual treatment he gets. After OVER 90 MINUTES, I get a phone call saying the groomer was unable to complete the full bath and haircut AND ONLY CLIPPED HIS NAILS. Her excuses were "I had another appointment, he pooped, he seemed scared." All this girl did was clip my cats nails, and put him in his carrier for 90 freaking minutes. I am so disgusted and in distraught how a company that is about caring for animals is allowing this kind of cruelty. The groomer should've called me IMMEDIATELY after deciding she did not want to complete the haircut. Her excuses I was not buying at all. I had an eerie feeling when I walked in because no one even said hello or any greeting; it was so uncomfortable from the start. This place is absolute trash. Keep your animal safe and go see the groomer at the PetSmart on Bethany Home Road, the groomers there are so much more friendly and ALWAYS get the job done without stressing out my cat. read more

If I could give the Grooming at this store a 0, I would. I recently picked up my dog from the emergency vet because the groomer failed to see a history of seizures in his profile (she openly admitted that she didn't see it but that it is there) and after washing him put him back in the kennel where he proceeded to have his first of two seizures. My appointment was at 8am, the store had just opened, so my dog was the first appointment on the schedule. What is the explanation to have my dog at the groomer for 90 minutes and he only had his bath....he was first on the schedule! Then someone (not his actual groomer) noticed that he was drooling and acting out of sorts. My dog was under distress, no one knew when he'd had the seizure and when they got him out of the kennel he had another seizure on the spot. Keep in mind my dog is healthy, has a seizure maybe quarterly just due to his breed, he is not epileptic. The groomers neglected my dog, only had bathed him in the 90 minutes he'd been there. I do not recommend the groomers at this facility. Second owner: I was really worried when my mom told me my dog had two seizures. I as worried that my dog was going to die because he was left in his kennel too long. He had never acted like this before. read more

This store just lost the several hundred of dollars I've been spending here each month when the manager refused to go the extra mile to help the customer when the DoorDash company it contracts with for deliveries brought me an aquarium cleaning product in lieu of a $27 dog probiotic. She didn't want to talk to me and punted me to DoorDash. DoorDash tried to get the manager to issue another order, but she refused. Even the PetSmart customer care line tried to get her to issue another order, but she refused. Not her problem. could not be bothered. Could not care less. We will now order our GSD girl's food, probiotics, treats and toys from Chewy. And if she wants to stroll through a pet store, there's always Petco. I ultimately did get a refund but not until experiencing this major disappointment. Do better, PetSmart. Maybe you don't HAVE to go the extra mile with customers but please at least TRY read more

Trent is one of the best groomers I have taken my dog to! He is thorough and does exactly what I ask for my dogs haircut. I've seen him interact with my dog and with other dogs, he treats them with love and patience. Exactly how I want my dog to be treated by his groomer. My dog has a seasonal rash on his underside, Trent is the only groomer to bring the rash to my attention, in case I wasn't aware. I love this, it really shows his attention to detail and care for my dog! This is the second time I have taken my dog to Trent for grooming and we will be back! Thank you Trent! read more

I made a Yelp account just to leave this review... I just cannot believe what I witnessed THREE times in one week from an employee at this location! The woman in the fish department is a real piece of work. She's basically the FISH NAZl! (Seinfeld reference for the younger crowd) First time watching her interact with a customer she has this mom with her kids in tow, trying to get ahold of her husband at WORK because the woman was not sure of the size of their tank. Apparently you just have to rattle off a tank size without proof to buy fish here...? People standing around, waiting to be helped and the employee had this nasty smirk on her face. she 100% enjoyed embarrassing that lady and making us all wait. Talk about power tripping so she doesn't have to work... People left because they got tired of waiting and I did as well! Three customers lost that dat in just 20 minutes or so... I come back a few days later for fish and what is going on again you ask?? SAME THING! Another girl was wanting to buy the smallest type of Pleco which does not get very large... She said it was as tall as her and reference the size if she was standing in front of it... She wasn't sure what size because her fiancé takes care of the whole thing. Not only does this woman power trip about tank size, her English is horrible (no accent... English is not her second language or anything, she just sounds uneducated) and she has a real nasty personality. Y'all this is PETSMART THAT ACTIVELY THROWS LIVE ANIMALS IN THE GARBAGE, FISH ARE ALWATS FLOATING DEAD IN TANKS (all three days I was here there were lots of dead fish) AND I HAVE SEEN MICE AND HAMSTERS EATING EACH OTHER! I left AGAIN without the fish I wanted... Which was a PLECO FOR MY OWN LARGE TANK. Come back again a couple days later and no Plecos except dead ones floating. At the rate the woman was horrible to customers, even making one woman get so overwhelmed she actually was pretty flustered... I would say the Plecos ALL died from subpar care, which is what this woman claimed to be trying to save them from the fate of. On this third visit I watched her be unable to give even BASIC accurate care information on several fish a man was buying but he knew the magic words... He didn't skip a beat on his tank size when she asked... Was good looking as well so you can take from that what you will... Store manager seemed disinterested in any complaints so maybe she is a relative... Wouldn't surprise me! Shop here if you must but heed my warning... Watching out for the FISH NAZl! Maybe go to a real aquarium shop since who wants harassment just to buy some cheap, sick fish??! I personally was drawn in by the prices I'll tell you what! Apparently Costa Rican rabies vaccines are insufficient. Though that policy is posted nowhere on their site. "To maintain a safe, comfortable environment, we require all pets to be current on their rabies vaccinations and to wait at least 48 hours after any vaccinations before checking in. Proof of rabies vaccination in the form of paperwork is required. The waiting period helps to ensure your pet isn't sore at the injection site, which can cause irritability or lethargy. This waiting period also is to prevent stressing a pet who may be experiencing an unexpected allergic reaction from a vaccine/vaccination. Puppies and kittens between 8 weeks and 4 months of age (3 months in Indiana) may receive services in the salon without vaccinations. In New York City, 6-month Bordetella and DHPP with Adenovirus are also required. In Iowa, DPP with Adenovirus is required. In Connecticut, proof of town license is required. Please note: All pets must be in good health prior to receiving any grooming services." Wasted my lunch hour bringing my dog just to be turned away. LOVE PETSMART. I moved to Arizonia, for about a year now. It was hard to find a right groomer. Read some review and decided to go to Camelback location.....AND I LOVE IT. Oliver has a photoshoot and director said just a clean up,they want a standard yorkie cut. Ansel, he help me out I normally get coconut spa. He told me the hemp package was amazing and smells great,has great natural oil,for Oliver's skin and hair. I gave it a try and Oliver came out looking handsome and smelling so good. I can smell him a foot away from,OMG he is sooo soft. Highly recomend Anzel, my yorkie looks soo on point. read more

I've since brought my dog back twice for regular groomings with Tori. She is very kind and I can tell she cares about my dog Benji (who doesn't love sitting still to get groomed). She always gives me lots of info on how Benji behaved, tips and advice, and does a great job. I would absolutely recommend taking your dog in to see her! read more

When I was a little kid our neighbors sold Kirby vacuum cleaners. They were very high end, shaming our humble Hoover. Anyway, they had a German shepard named Kirby that I loved. So. Whenever I played "dog" I insisted my family call me Kirby. And they did. Along with crazy, freak child and Thumbelina. One night my mother even allowed me to eat my dinner on the floor! What was she thinking! So when I entered Pet Smart, I had this hankering to drop on all fours and start sniffing peoples' legs. But I'll save that for role playing night with Rickie. The store is vast with everything you could possibly need. I headed right to the diaper aisle. Poor Emilie's bleeding through her little doggina. Found what I needed instantly. Headed to the dog food aisle and got a GREAT deal on Purina dog chow. And lest I forget the queen of our castle's snacks, grabbed another bargain bag of bacon strips....which really aren't all that bad on toasted bread with a little mayo and some sliced romas. When I can shop at Wag N Wash I do. I know this is the Wal Mart of pet stores. I wasn't greeted or offered any help by any one. The cashier was initially friendly and insisted I get a Pet Smart card. I declined. She kept persisting saying how I could save fifty cents today even. Seriously. Two quarters. Wow. She seemed real put off by my decision. I may have, may have uttered "bitch" as I left. We took our dog for training classes to the pet smart on Bell Rd. in Surprise, Az. I don't remember the trainers name but we went on Saturdays at 10 AM to 11AM. The first week was ok but after that the trainer told me it would not bother me if she did not come back. She is a year old very high energy dog. I wanted have her learn basic training. This lady has no patience. I would not recommend going there. It seems like alot of other dogs in the class dropped out also. read more

Repeat customer at this location and made two appts for my dogs to get groomed, left my rabies renewal for one dog at home and groomers and store leader wouldn't hold appointments for longer than 20 min or offer any solutions like calling vet to confirm paperwork (as other Petsmart locations have done i.e. Chandler). Each individual I spoke with seemed very eager to scoff and tell me no to making any kind of exception. Most pet groomers in town are booking multiple weeks out and to miss this appointment I booked a week out in an already busy schedule is very disappointing. We were interested in taking home a new family member, a green cheeked conure, but the lady would not let us take him out to meet him. We went back the next day and the same thing. How are we supposed to buy a pet without getting to meet him first? It was obvious the little guy wanted some attention and that he doesn't get enough. He is all alone in that cage with no other birds for companionship either. We have owned conures for over 10 years now and they need a LOT of interaction and attention. The lady said he bites and we told her it's no wonder because he is getting no socialization. I am so disappointed in Petsmarts lack of care and knowledge about the animals they are supposed to be finding home for. I saw who I think is one of the groomers (I believe he was older and bald with a beard) pushing around a dog in one of the carts that looked to be out of it and had what looked to be blood on it's face. I've never seen anything like this before especially from this location the whole thing was just terrible and made me sick to my stomach knowing that is how this man was treating that dog who is supposed to be a so called "specialist". Let me say I used to be extremely loyal to PetSmart mainly because way back in the day I worked at corporate when it was a public company and Phil Francis was at the helm and this Company had HEART! Once the young CEO came in and then the VCs took over this company became like any other petfood company you could see it in the commercials or should I say they became just noise...even the customer experience is that way just like going to target.
