I came to Gordon's for the first time last Tuesday. I park out front and head inside. Upon waking through the door I am immediately greeted. If you're looking for a mom and pop feed store, this is the place to go as Gordon's has been around for 50 years. Prices were amazing. Customer service.. amazing. I purchased a 50# bag of organic feed and a 7cft bag of shavings. Total was well under $40. The guys even loaded everything up in my vehicle, that was parked out front. They have a drive-thru if you don't want to get out of your vehicle. But then you wouldn't get tempted to buy chicks. Chicken math is real. Lol My search for a locally owned/operated feed and tack has ended!! I'll definitely be back when I have a need..a need for feed!! read more

He has no clue whatsoever about the feed. so I send him 3 pictures of the feed that I need. 1 Kruse's perfection poultry layer pallet 50 lbs. 1 Kruse's perfection gamebird turkey grow crumbles 50 lbs. 1 Kruse's perfection gamebird turkey starter mash 50 lbs. Once he got home, I checked and this is what I received. 2 Kruse's perfection poultry layer pallet 50 lbs. 1 Kruse's perfection gamebird turkey starter mash 50 lbs. My husband made sure that the seller understood what he needed before the seller loaded the feed into his car. The seller insisted that he correctly gave my husband the correct feed. Great place for large and small animal needs. My daughter "surprised" our family by bringing home a guinea pig. Since it was her decision, and her new pet, she has to use her money to buy it's supplies. Gordon's feed was a lifesaver for her. The food at the large chain pet stores was 3x's the price of Gordon's Feed. Locally owned and operated makes it even better. Drive through service made it so we didn't even have to get out of the car. And I made her buy me an ice cream bar that they sell there as payment to drive her. We came here to get eyedrops and antibiotics for our little puppy who had a eye infection. Our neighbor told us about Gordon's feed and seed. The place is very small but they have all the essentials that you need the sales person might have been Gordon himself he was very helpful and he suggested the right medication for our puppy, I will definitely come back here again. read more

We went here on a recommendation. Otherwise, I'm more than confident we would have never heard of it and would have never seen it on the road. Luckily, we got that recommendation. So you pull up. The parking lot is small, it's red, no windows to speak of... it looks more like a glorified matchbox than anything else. Oh, and it's small. Have I said that yet? Alright. So we go in and are instantly overwhelmed with the masses. Stuff... more stuff... and even more stuff... everywhere. I came in with specific needs and they met most of them. But once they realized that hadn't met one... they were on a mission to met it. I left my name and number and they are going to call me when (and if) they can get what I so desire in. I even had a short lesson in marketing ploys. Who knew? The staff is so incredibly kind and friendly. Very family oriented. At the time we were there, a grandma and grandson were working. Addressing eachother exactly as that. They also have vaccine clinics here. Vet supplies. Um, oh yea... don't come in with a baby stroller, big purse, or other bags. While there is room for what they have -- there isn't much room for anything else. I'm not complaining at all. What they have is awesome and I will be coming back as frequently as possible. I had heard others talk about getting high quality cat and dog food for great prices at feed & tack stores. I never quite believed them until I decided to stop passing by Gordon's and wondering. I pulled in and saw the light. Gordon's IS tiny, but with the help of the Grandson, I found "Taste of the Wild," a completely grain free all natural cat chow that is good for all ages, from kittens to seniors. My cats loved it from the get go and it was no more expensive than Purina One, but I sure feel a lot better feeding them this. They also carry "Petite Cuisine"- Fancy Feast sized cans of food that is the most wonderfully unprocessed cat food I have ever seen. Again, cheaper than the nationally recognized competition- far cheaper in fact, and far, far better for my cats with no fillers and no mystery meats. The staff consisting of Grandmother, Mother, and Grandson are all very friendly, and the Grandson always volunteers to carry my purchases to the car. I'm sold on Gordon's for my pet food needs. read more

I was recommended to the mobile vet clinic, Tender Loving Care offered at Gordon's Feed the first Saturday of every month. I arrived an hour early at 8:00 in hope to be seen in a timely manner. When I signed in I told them I was concerned my dog might have a UTI and would need her urine checked and her anal glands expressed. After waiting 3 hours to be seen the Vet, Phillip Horen DVM and Tech, KD asked me if I had collected her urine. NO! I didn't collect her urine. I have never done that before. I don't have anything to collect it in. The regular Vet offices usually do it for the pet owner at the appointments. I don't know the protocol here. Also, can urine be left out at room temperature for 3 hours? But here is my question: WHY WASN'T I TOLD I NEEDED TO COLLECT HER URINE MYSELF WHEN I CHECKED IN OR AT LEAST DURING THE 3 HOURS I WAS WAITING THERE?! FRUSTRATING!! In addition, I mentioned to the Vet that my dog needed her anal glands expressed every 3-6 months. He recommended surgery. I told him I was concerned because I read that surgery could cause bowel incontinence which would cause even more concern since she is an indoor dog. He said that she would be fine and no need to be concerned. Again recommending surgery. I went home needing to make ANOTHER appointment at a DIFFERENT vet clinic to get her URINE test done. I DID NOT schedule surgery. Instead, I changed her dog food to Royal Canin Digestive Health, eliminated most human food but still give her meat, chicken and broccoli, no sweets. And she hasn't needed her anal glands expressed for over a year. Also the Tech, KD was rude. And the store had bugs crawling on items in the store. Check your dog's food before you feed them! I will never go back to this mobile vet clinic. read more

I bought 10 baby chicks from here. Three days and $60 later I have ONE left. I would not recommend buying livestock from here. She refused to replace my chicks until after 3 more died.. I refused to make the trip to get more diseased chicks. My kids are devastated. In all of my 6 years of chicken owning I've never had to experience something like this. So I've been calling the store since September 2019 to get my puppy shots. They let me know over the phone that a vet comes on the first of the month every month to do free shots! Unfortunately, I called one day too late so I took my dog to get his first and second shots elsewhere. Today, my dog is ready for his 3rd round of shots. We called in advance to make sure none is the stipulations changed, however, we were met with unexpected fees from the doctor. The "free shots" actually cost $60. We brought up our concern for the price. We then had the clipboard of information snatched from out hands and were told they've never been free and no one would say that. The same person later admit that other people have come ,thinking the shots were free. $60 isn't bad for shots, but the lack of professionalism and the bad customer service turned me away from this place for good. I support small business owners, but do it right. Gordon's feed gave us bad Info but the TLC company that gives the shots out is a terrible company. Bad representatives can really ruin a company! Dogs were attacking this women and her attitude ( I wish that was fabricated). She was mean to the dogs and the humans. I wish I could have grabbed her name.... If you're looking to go to Gordon's feed for your dogs shots, take them to the human society instead. They use the profit for supply in the shelter anyway. And the price is the same, sometimes less on special days. read more

A much smaller Feed Store that I've been to but a much better personal experience than the others we've visited in the west valley. Small parking area too. They have a drive-thru option for those that don't want to get off their car. We've been there a couple of times. The pullets we picked up from this location along with the other animals we saw there seem SO MUCH HAPPIER than other pet stores. I think it has a lot to do with the staff that works with them. Their store has a small variety of accessories, food, and toys for all kinds of pets. Last time I was there, they even had Honey! The ladies in the front register are SO SWEET! The gentleman that assisted us with the pullets was very knowledgeable too. He was telling us how he had raised a rare breed hen and rooster that they had there for purchase. They looked well-cared for as well. Some items were a little pricier than I would've wanted to pay for but I much rather prefer to support a local business. Especially one where I can see that they love what they do. Definitely recommending to friends and family. Pullets and cockerels come from Privett Hatchery. All of the pullets and the single cockerel we've purchased here are STRONG and THRIVING!!! read more

I will avoid going to a pet store now that I have found Gordon's. I have been coming here for the past year and I have never had a bad experience. I have a dog with a lot of allergies and they always help me out on medicine, creams, and food. There isn't a place you can get this quality of information or service in town for you animals. Gordon's is new and improved! The remodel has made it so much larger inside. They still have a huge selection of everything that pet and livestock owners need, including practical advice. When I have any questions, Mary, Sherry, or Gordon have always been available to help me. Sometimes for me it's a question of what's the best way to get weight on my horse, or which antibiotic would be best for a sick hen, or what vaccines do I need to get for my cats. It's one of the few feed stores that stock baby chicks, and last month I bought a big healthy laying hen there for a great price. Whatever you need, if they don't have it in stock, they can usually get it for you at a reasonable price. It's also nice that they deliver, because not everybody has a large truck to haul hay. And in thirty years now, I have never gotten bad feed there. Last summer I tried a cheaper competitor in southwest Phoenix, and had handfuls of rocks in the hay...I learned something and went back to buying from Gordon's. Mary and Sherry have also been willing to order things for me that they don't normally stock, and the items have arrived in a timely manner. I've been buying my dog food from them for about 2 years. My experience has been great every time I go there. I always buy the same brand of dog food and it is the cheapest here. Other places charged up to $15 more for the same brand and don't offer to carry out my 40lb bag. At Gordon's they always carry out my 40lb bag for me, they don't ask, they just do it. They've been knowledgeable when I've had questions about dog food and vaccinations and once had a problem with a bag of dog food and they offered to exchange it for me - free! I had called just to find out what chickens they currently have for sale. the lady on the phone was immediately rude. she simple said a variety. I ask what breeds, she said hens and roosters. last time I checked those are not breeds. When I finally got her to tell me the very short list of breeds they have she simply finished with "is that good enough?" I will be sticking with the very nice people at the Pet Food Depot. read more
