I returned for dinner with a friend and was not disappointed. Everything on the menu looks amazing, so it was difficult to choose. I ordered a tuna melt on Viking bread with a side of fresh fruit and a chai latte. Still the best chai I've had in the area! The tuna melt was divine, and while I love just about any kind of bread, I am a 100% believer of the Viking bread and probably wouldn't order a sandwich on anything else. This is one of my favorite places in the world. :) My husband and I have created a tradition of going every single weekend. Their specialty coffee drinks are really good. The cinnamon roll latte is our go-to when we want something sweet. The coffee selection is different every day ranging from Regular & Decaf, to Blueberry and Black Cherry coffee. The blueberry coffee is amazing but you never know which one they'll have because they change them out on a daily basis. Their pies and cookies are great. I don't really eat pastries but they have a lot of them to choose from that they make every day. I love the peanut butter pie, pecan pie, chocolate pie, coconut cream pie, etc. Their selection of sandwiches are awesome too.. and I'm not usually one to go somewhere and order a sandwich when I feel like I could make one at home.. but this place is definitely the exception. Their curried chicken salad is amazing, as well as their tuna melt, and ultimate club sandwich is to die for too. All of these sandwiches go great on their tomato parmesan bread - toasted. If you go for breakfast, I'll get the biscuits and gravy (so yummy) or an egg and cheese [white cheddar] biscuit. Their biscuits, I swear, are better than cracker barrels. The scones are really good as well as most of the pastries although they should cut out a lot of sugar out when they can since it's sometimes too sweet. Cute place for brunch. In town with friends who moved here. Has an old school woodsy feel which we really enjoyed. We were a big group of 9 (5 kids). Found tables together easily which was surprising considering the line to order was almost out the door. Line moved reasonably fast. If you don't want a long wait at lunch time on Main Street, walk down to Merridee's. We got our food quickly and all of our orders were correct. They have lots of indoor seating, and their outdoor seating is shaded and quiet. I ordered the pot roast with mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables. Hey, their Food is as good as their Sweets - get both! My wife and I were in Franklin recently, and needed a late lunch. We had heard about Merrridee's as being good for pastries and desserts - which they are - but they have good meals as well. The folks taking your order and delivering your food are as good as the food. I opted for the French Dip and was so glad I did. The meat was tender, not over cooked, and melted into the bread with the cheese and au jus. My wife said her Chicken Salad was good, but had a wee bit more mayonnaise for her taste. We both got our dessert to go. I feel sure that most of their pastries are quite delicious - huge sweet rolls, fudge, etc. Unfortunately, when I did get to eat mine a couple of hours later, I was disappointed that it was not as tasty as I initially hoped it would be. This place is so adorable! It definitely gets crowded. We came in on a Monday morning and it was very busy! We were able to find a table though but there weren't many tables left at the time we arrived. I ordered sort of a random breakfast: a pecan sticky bun, breakfast burrito and a black and white mocha. Everything was delicious...but that pecan sticky bun was truly amazing. I was instantly taken by this cute bakery right as I walked through the door. There was an aroma of freshly baked breads and pastries, and the atmosphere was just quaint and comfy! Merridee's has old wooden floors and wicker baskets hanging from the ceiling. It's very cute! I ordered the BLT on their freshly made multi-grain bread, and my dad ordered the turkey sandwich. Both were awesome, and the portion size was perfect! Sometimes you order sandwiches, and it's enough for at least 2 meals. This was like a homemade sandwich on regular sized bread. Very good! We also couldn't say no to one of the gigantic sugar cookies sitting in the glass display. It was fabulous, as I'm sure all of their bakery items are. I would have loved to try one of each! We had lunch here after a fun hike outside of Franklin. Although the line was a bit scary (Sat at about 12n) it moved quickly. The best thing we ordered was the soup of the day-Chicken Stew. I ordered a cup and ended up sharing with our group of 4..my son who claims to be a soup aficionado said it was the best soup he has ever eaten. After that the rest of our order seemed only fair at best. The pot roast sandwich comes with collard greens and the flavor takes over the whole sandwich. Curry chicken salad was good and the Monte Cristo was huge and very good. Overall would highly recommend. The pastries and desserts looked great! Merridee's has become an addiction as of late. I can't believe it took me so long to eat here! Probably because it's generally so packed, I never really got the chance. Their staff is helpful and kind, and are always willing to put up with my shenanigans when catering. But my office has come to love them, and request them frequently. Their bakery is awesome as well. There's a lot of variety, and it's not just those pretty hunks of cardboard that you get at Starbucks or Panera. You can tell it is home-made. I also really dig the rustic decor.
