    Lemon ricotta pancakes
    Lacri R.

First time trying this bakery while visiting Franklin for a bridal shower. My friend said the Lemon ricotta pancakes were the best pancakes she's ever had so I had to try them. Well she was right!! I can't put into words how fluffy and delicious these pancakes are!! I savored every bite. And the lattes were incredible as well...velvety and smooth! Wish we had this place back home.

HEAVENLY! This place was stunning, the charm is unreal. The food was phenomenal! The coffee was delightful and the fresh florals..... I don't have words for how amazing this place is. It's pricy but worth every penny! The care poured into the menu and the pastries really shows. For me, the plating of what you cook says a lot about your care for the person eating the dish. You can't order a meal from Perenn and look at it without feeling a certain kind of loved. I can't wait to create that same feeling for my family when I prepare the next meal for us. It's that inspiring!

I've had Perenn on my list for a year now. I'm so glad I didn't rush to try it. I was so disappointed In the food. Very mediocre food nothing to rave about or describe. However, my latte was nice. The service was good and our waitress was so friendly.

I'm from Reno, NV where Perenn got its start. I was so excited to visit their Franklin location for their dinner service because I know how fantastic the food and service at Perenn can be. This was an extension of the brand that I've come to know and love and it seems like a perfect fit for the area. As usual, the menu highlights seasonal foods and each dish is full of flavor. I loved every bite! The staff at Perenn was incredibly nice and welcoming and they were attentive to our table, even when things got busy. I have nothing but amazing things to say about Perenn.

Decent food but nothing spectacular. Pricey but hey it's Franklin. "Traditional breakfast" 2 eggs, bacon, potato & toast $22. Best thing is the amazing view of greenery from their patio. It's busy, it's a popular place to go, so we went.

I got the prosciutto and Gruyère croissant and this was DELICIOUS! The croissant itself was nice and flaky yet still moist with lots of flavor. The meat and cheese inside were a perfect combo and didn't get the bread all soggy. This is the perfect snack!

This was my first time and I was pleasantly surprised! I really like the aesthetic! I felt like I went back in time to the 1920s or 1930s! The bakery is as soon as you walk in and the restaurant is to the left. I ordered the Crispy Brunch Potatoes and was able to sub the fried egg for scrambled. It was delicious!! The crema and bacon jam on top of the Potatoes were chef's kiss! I also ordered OJ, which was freshly squeezed. Everyone was nice and I would definitely go back for those Potatoes! Tip: If you park behind the restaurant in the lot, prepare to pay for parking (Even if you don't see a sign, look for one) or you'll come out to a parking ticket. :(

The croissants and crème brûlée were easily the highlight of the entire visit and honestly worth coming back for. They were fresh, perfectly done, and exactly what you want when you walk into a bakery. Unfortunately the rest of the menu fell flat. Most of the pastries tasted like they had been sitting out for a while and nothing else came close to the quality of those two items. For the prices they are charging, you expect consistency across the board, and it just was not there. The space itself is beautiful. High ceilings, great light, and the kind of ambiance that makes you want to linger. But the beauty also comes with a cost. It was crowded, noisy, and a little chaotic. Parking is another headache. There are only a handful of spots. The outdoor seating is a nice touch and if you manage to get a table it is a lovely place to sit, especially with a coffee and one of those croissants. Just be prepared to wait because the line moves slowly and service has been so-so. Overall, it is the kind of place you want to love because it looks the part and has a couple of standout items, but once you get past the first impression, most of it is average at best. I would go again for the croissant and the crème brûlée, but not much else.

We just loved this place! It reminded me of this small cafe in Jackson Hole WY that we ate at everyday while we were hiking. The interior is a French style with sit down service or take away available. I recommend a reservation because I didn't make one and we had to do takeaway they were fully booked for 8am breakfast. However, the outdoor patio is wonderful and breezy this morning. The breakfast sandwiches were literally perfect. The croissant was baked perfectly. You could feel every layer and the butter was excellent. The soufflé eggs were extremely fresh and wonderful. I recommend adding the chipotle mayo because it really elevated the sandwich. We had light roast cappuccinos and they were great. I doubled back for the black tea cookies and fresh French bread. Super excited for those takeaways. This is a great spot and has parking in the back which is a plus for downtown. If you're on the fence, climb over this place is well worth it.

Sweet bread and sandwiches are really delicious! The quality of bread is slightly higher than branch store in Nashville.

10/10 recommend Perenn but please book a reservation so you can enjoy the view and food. The European aesthetic is everything. They have a steady flow of traffic and the customer service is great and fast. I ordered the grilled banana bread topped with butter and honey and of course a side of scrambled eggs and bacon. Everything was delicious

I was so excited about this spot opening in Franklin, and first impressions did not disappoint! It is truly a lovely space, and the servers were quick, friendly, and attentive. Parking process was simple, and it was fairly quiet on a weekday morning! I have seen comments about the pricing -- and yes, it is a consideration if you want a full meal, but there are options for keeping cost down and honestly it's all high quality and well worth it!! We had coffee, split a sweet and a savory breakfast item, and then took away some pastries to try later -- everything was phenomenal and I enjoyed the dining-in experience. Overall, I'd designate this a must-try food destination in Middle TN

I'm giving this place 4 stars but only for the takeout. If it were just for dining alone, I would give it 3 stars. We really love the bread and the pastries, especially the chocolate croissant at Perenn. The flour is not your usual white bread, but a nice dark wheat flour. The seeded bread and the sourdough are simply amazing toasted with butter and fresh tomatoes and salt. It tastes healthy, and delicious. Reminds me of the bread and pastries we had in France. We actually stood in line when it first opened behind the person who was funding the place as well as the pizza place next-door, and he was very kind and spoke with us for a while about how he came to be involved. The service at the takeout area is professional and fast. However, my advice would be to just take food to go and not sit down service. I went there with my two sons for breakfast on a weekday. The sitting area is lovely, but it is a crowded. We were seated at a table meant for two people and they pulled up an extra chair for me on the side. I felt like we were pretty much on top of the people next to us. I'm not sure why they didn't just put us at a table for four. It felt like it was a bit of an afterthought. The food was good, but it is very pricey. We got a kids breakfast, an egg and cheese croissant, hot chocolate for the kids, cold brew for me, crispy potatoes and a chocolate croissant (I did not even order a breakfast dish for myself). It was close to $70 including tip. There were lots of upcharges I was unaware of. The waiter also looked at me oddly when I asked for Stevia with my coffee and said "we have none of that here". Stevia is actually a plant based natural sugar source so I'm kind of not sure why she said that to me like that. I think they may need some improvement in the service department area, if they are going to charge these prices and make seating limited. In summary, good place to go to support a local business, but advise going there for takeout only.

The staff were patient and helpful as I asked questions and considered all my options. I had forgotten that they brew Nashville's own 8&R spresso!! Their 16oz drinks come with four shots - coffee lovers like me will appreciate the strength! Most of their syrups are Monin, I think maybe I saw 1 housemade. What really sets this place apart is the charming farmer's market-style vibe. Besides food, coffee and fresh-baked pastries, they offer their own delicious sourdough and focaccia loaves to go, and a very thoughtful selection of local items - like organic Amish eggs ($6/dozen - unreal price right now and I saw they reuse the cartons/place to return them - heartwarming), bone broths, small-batch sauces, and so much more. I loved spotting a whole shelf of Republic of Tea bags, sold individually so you can sample new flavors before committing to a full tin. You can tell everything is chosen with care both in quality and with a community focus. Franklin Bakehouse is one of those places that just makes you feel good the moment you walk in. It's a good place to go when you're wanting a fast grab and go with a black coffee. We decided to try the custom breakfast sandwich and got the ham with egg and cheese on sourdough. Overall, the sandwich was tasty. The hot pocket looking pastry was actually great, but the cinnamon peach "French toast" was not the best, it was okay in terms of flavor but overall a little underdone and dry. On top of that, I would say the service was very mediocre. Cashier seemed a little rude, and when leaving we realized no one picked up the order number that needs to be placed on the table once ordered, when trying to return it to someone before walking out everyone was just in a circle talking and no one acknowledged that I was trying to return this table number. So that really was a cherry on top of the environment of this place. Definitely a mid level experience.

The cake is very dense, what our family considers to be the ultimate texture for a cake. The frosting is super thick and very sweet.
