The Sourdough and Hash brown Casserole
Mari B.

Another local staple that consistently has great food and service! Stopped in for breakfast and love that you can serve yourself coffee. Coffee is usually good here! We started with their pecan roll (ask for it warm) and it was delicious. Tried the chocolate croissant and will say, it's one of the better croissants I have had around here. Didn't expect it from here but will definitely order again Split their Sourdough Breakfast sandwich and highly recommend. It was delicious and they have good sourdough! Plus the tomato was really good too. Also split the Hash brown Casserole which is one of the best ones in Franklin! Service was great - they are always attentive. I will say the AC must have been down that day because it was warm in there. That's the first time we have experienced that issue. But otherwise always a great spot for breakfast or lunch.

I stumble upon this spot while walking around a lovely neighborhood in Franklin. I went in for a coffee and ordered a medium latte, while my friend got a medium cappuccino. I also tried the key lime pie and it was so good! The staff were friendly and very attentive. There's plenty of seating both inside and outside, and the bakery itself is spacious with lots of food and pastries options. I'll definitely be back!

Adorable facade and interior! Quaint! Upon entering, girl at counter was miserable! Not a smile. No "welcome in". When I asked if we seat ourselves she said "yeah, but you order here." Still no smile. What ever happened to southern hospitality. She needs to be back in the kitchen away from customers! The young man that delivered our food was lively, welcoming and friendly. First impressions are everything!!!!

The food was really good! Maybe the best French dip I've ever had. My husband really liked their coffee and their sweet tea was the perfect level of sweetness (at least perfect for someone from OK)

Cinnamon Streusel bread

Great place for breakfast-located in downtown Franklin. Ordered the croissant sandwich- lots of bacon, Swiss cheese and egg - very hearty. I bought the cinnamon streusel bread for dessert- yum. Highly recommend Merridee's!

Sausage Breakfast Braid

Would not recommend the Sausage Breakfast Braid. Dough is very chewy and bland. Not fresh. It is like it just came out of the microwave.

Merridee's Breadbasket is a place I've always passed in Franklin, and I finally decided to try it after hearing such great things. It was quite busy on a Saturday, but that's a good thing! The spot is very cute inside, and looks just like the name. I ordered the Ultimate Club. The bread is to die for. It made the sandwich. I'm a sucker for honey mustard on my sandwiches, and that hit the spot. We decided to sit out on their patio where there was plenty of seating which I was worried about when we first got there.

I met the owner of Merridee's and he invited me to his restaurant !! I ordered the quiche plate with a side salad and mashed potatoes. Everything was absolutely DELICIOUS. Oh my goodness. The service was fast. The ambiance was very warm and casual. I am DEFINITELY COMING back again

Meridee's has been a fixture in downtown Franklin for years. It gains its popularity from fresh made deserts, breads, pastries, to all the ingredients that are used on their sandwiches and in their breakfast items, soups, and salads. I am a local and should frequent this place much more often and plan to in the future. It's a great place to eat alone, with a friend, or with a group of people. No matter where you sit, it's like being in your own kitchen... The decor makes it a very homey atmosphere. It's a small setting with limited seating, so it's very crowded during prime breakfast and lunch hours. It does tend to get noisy with all the people in such close proximity of each other. So, don't plan on having a very private meeting or conversation when you dine here. You order and pay at the register. Staff brings food to your table, but you do your own refills at the drink station. Parking can be a pain and hard to find near Merridee's, but there is a free garage if spaces are available. I usually get the SAMPLER PLATE for  $11.69 because I like a variety. It has of Chicken salad, Tuna salad, Egg salad, House fruit parfait, and Cinnamon Raisin bread. They will even let you switch breads and spreads upon request. Their Curry Chicken salad and Pimento cheese is good too. They have a variety of other sandwiches that are very tempting to the taste buds. If you aren't in the mood for any of that, Merridee's also serves pot roast daily with several homemade vegetables to choose from. I suggest trying their Fruit tea. They say they use decaffeinated tea with 9 different fruit juices for the taste, that is very refreshing & delectable. Meridee's has been featured on national tv several times, so it attracts visitors from all over the US. It is also been voted best bakery several times in our hometown. Another fun fact about this restaurant demonstrates baking as a tradition in the original owner's family, because her grandmother was head cook for the Pillsbury family. Great place to be able to say, you've been there! Pics taken from sources online.

The food was delicious. I was surprised to not get a refill on my coffee or water. Sat in back dining room and it is super loud back there from I guess the kitchen.

The classic on a croissant
Candice S.

The classic breakfast sandwich was incredible and unforgettable! Imagine a super soft, melt in your mouth combination of grilled cheese, egg and sausage- I'm still thinking about how delicious it was. Just a heads up, the service is basic: you order at the counter and grab your own utensils, napkins etc.

Hashbrown Side of Hashbrown Casserole

Breakfast love*** Definitely will stop again. Service is at the counter where you order and they give you a number and bring your food to the table (beverages are self serve). The vegetarian breakfast sandwich is outstanding. Best thing is no egg! I guess if you want that they can add but it's so nice they have a lovely breakfast sandwich on fantastic fresh bread, yummy veggies and cooked to perfection. The meat lover at the table had the Viking and enjoyed. Don't miss the hashbrown casserole. It's totally a great addition to your meal. Friendly service and nice homey dining room.

We started off with the Mini Donuts with dipping sauces, and they were a huge hit! Unfortunately, I was off my game and forgot to take pictures of some of the appetizers before they disappeared. We also ordered the Spinach Dip with chips, and a definite must have, the Deviled Eggs with Candy Bacon. Wow... those were sooo good! For the entrees, I went with the Eggs Benedict with home fries, and it was perfection. Others at the table ordered the Chicken Fingers and Fries, great comfort food with amazing flavor. The fries are the thin-cut style, which makes them extra good. The granddaughters split a hamburger and absolutely loved it. The service is always great here, but this visit had a special touch. The granddaughters wanted a carrot to feed to their stuffed bunny, and the waitress actually brought one out for them! Little things like that make a big impression. Overall, a great brunch, great service, and a great experience. We'll definitely be back!

Loud from the crowd, but still fine for conversation, and the tables/booths were spread enough to provide decent privacy. Made a note that the bar looked very attractive and appealing. Limited draft selection, though the by the glass wine was about the best list I've ever seen in a restaurant, and quite reasonable on pricing. Food comes out fast. Wait people are efficient and helpful. Started with a split salad. We ordered the Little Gem but actually received the Caesar. Not a big deal, though it was badly over dressed, so whatever salad we order (or whatever we're served) in the future, it'll be dressing on the side. After having a tough time deciding what to order on our first visit, I went with the tuna. The tuna slices were nicely rare though the dish was very bland. A pop of pickled ginger on the side, but some wasabi, or even a hit of salt, would have helped a lot, and the dipping sauce was off and bland, could have really used some more soy sauce. Wife got the crab cakes. The cakes were really nice jumbo lumps, very good quality, and the shoestring fries delightful (though I might order them well done next time for a bit of extra crunch). We'll be back and will enjoy exploring the menu further. There's clearly 5 star potential here, we just need to learn the best dishes to order.

It was such a small portion, i thought they had mistakingly given me a kids plate instead of the $16 dollar entree. I was still so hungry after scarfing that down, I ordered Fried pickles & peppers. It wasn't tasty at all! That appetizer was very greasy and over fried. For $10, there wasn't much of it, But, I didn't care because I didn't like it anyway. The pickles were small, and the peppers were so tiny, I couldn't even taste them. They were served with house made Ranch that didn't taste like ranch, more like a glob of sour cream. Service was great! They were apologetic for food not being up to par and asked me to come back for another try. I will go back, but if I'm displeased again, that'll be the last time. Too many places in Franklin to choose from to settle on mediocre food! I'm thinking I may go at happy hour and try the 1/2 price chicken fingers next time. I also had my eye on the Thai Peanut Chicken salad, so I may try it too.

Absolutely delicious burger cooked to perfection. Simple, straightforward and loaded with flavor. Waffle, fries, while not a disappointment, were not what I expected. Yes, I did order them. But I expected hot fries, and these came more lukewarm. However, they were not greasy. They were still crispy, and in fact, they were nice change of pace. Topped it off with a cold draft brew. My kind of lunch, which means I will be back.

No hacks, no substitutions, no overthinking it, just a quietly elite Southern breakfast move that feels like it deserves its own line on the menu. The foundation is what makes it work. The grits here are genuinely excellent, creamy, well-seasoned, and clearly made with intention. And it's not a small scoop either; the bowl is three side orders of grits. This is not a light breakfast situation. One practical note: they're thick enough that they show up without a spoon. Not a complaint, just a moment of "respect the density." Once you break the yolks, though, everything loosens up into that rich, cohesive, borderline dangerous comfort food zone. What stands out is how unbothered the kitchen is about it. It comes out clean, properly executed, no questions asked, as if this is just a completely normal, correct way to eat breakfast. Bottom line: simple, rooted in Southern tradition, and easily one of the best ways to experience Puckett's grits.

The place is beautiful, but we were seated in the least interesting area. My friend said it used to be an open patio and was renovated for more indoor seating, which makes sense, but it lacked any real atmosphere. When I am spending this kind of money I want a slow, leisurly pace, and this felt rushed. Yes, we probably could have asked the waiter to slow things down, but we didn't. I ordered a specialty cocktail - the Midnight Sun that was delish - it was layered and around $16. The waiter then brought out what ended up being the highlight of the meal, a little treat from the chef. It was a creamy gnocchi dish to share, about three pieces each, super rich and honestly I could have eaten 20 more. We also spilt the bread flight. The bread was good but I wasn't a fan of the spreads, I'm a BUTTER person, these were more like bean spreads. The brussels sprouts with pork were also really good. Hubby and I split a mixed green salad that was pretty mediocre, and the croutons were almost too hard to chew. Then came the pork, which was a dissapointment. It was so tough it actually got caught in my throat a couple times despite chewing it well. We didn't even finish it. For the price, it should have been tender and full of flavor, and it was neither. My friend ordered the duck pasta and said it had "weird pieces of meat" in it. Her husband got the filet and loved it, so at least someone at the table was happy. We skipped dessert after most of us had disappointing entrees. I guess the good news is they rotate the menu every few months, so maybe it would be a totally different experience next time.

Nonetheless, he knew the menu, the specials, the drinks, and suggestions! We loved each and everyone of the suggestions and choices we made. Our dining experience started with the signature old fashion followed by a bottle of Heitz Cellars Cabernet! We ordered the lamb and brisket buns. Both were savory, delicious and well prepared. Followed by their Sushi Roll. It was described as "if you love sushi, you've never had anything like this." (I've had a ton of Sushi all over the world, and this was a spectacular Hamachi Roll.) we rounded out our meal with the Butternut Burrata and bread basket and a Beef Tenderloin. It was cooked to perfection and able to be cut with a fork. (I am salivating thinking about how perfectly it was prepared.) Just when we thought it couldn't be any better our server suggested we look at the dessert menu. He tempted me with a blood orange sorbet followed by a peanut butter chocolate pie. AMAZING! The fun thing was, I consumed the Heitz Cabernet throughout my entire meal - all the way through dessert. My high remarks to the chef and the staff because this team knows how to please and perform flawlessly!
