If you're looking for a casual place to grab a bite, catch the game, or just hang out with friends, this spot is a great choice! As soon as you walk in, you'll notice there are plenty of seating options. Up front there's a lively bar area along with lots of high-top tables. If you're looking for a more relaxed atmosphere, grab a seat by the fireplace. On nice days, they open the garage doors, which gives the place a great indoor/outdoor feel. There's also a second bar in the back with several comfortable booths. To drink, I ordered the Drake Margarita, and it was very good. For my entrée, I went with the Buffalo Chicken Minis. You can order either two or three, and of course I went with three! The buns were soft, the chicken was cooked perfectly, and they used just the right amount of buffalo sauce. I added blue cheese for dipping, and wow... sooo good! They also come with your choice of a side, and the Tots were a great pick. We also shared the Rainbow Roll, and I was pleasantly surprised. The sushi here is definitely worth trying! Service was a bit mixed. Our server did a good job, but the bartender was very slow. I didn't receive my Drake Margarita until my Buffalo Chicken Minis had already arrived, which was a little disappointing. Overall, the food, atmosphere, and variety make this a place I'd definitely come back to. If you live in Franklin and haven't checked it out yet, it's worth adding to your list! read more

The trio appetizer was fresh and delicious. Biting into a Juicy Lucy is like biting into hamburger heaven. I think that it is garlic aioli that kicks it to the next level. Kevin' was our server. He was very pleasant and attentive. I gave him a good tip because was everything you would want a server to be. Stopped in for dinner on a business trip since it had a varied menu and all of us could agree. There are two big rooms and bars. Good size TVs but can get loud. I ordered sushi and was pleasantly surprised. I've had worse sushi at sushi restaurants. The dumplings were also very tasty, I ordered a mocktail and it was very tasty. It took a good while to arrive as they were training two new bartenders and my waitress had a trainee as well. I like it. Nothing crazy good, but a solid spot that delivers every time. Great burger menu, and surprisingly... great sushi menu! Only note is they are very rice heavy so I always have to remove a little from the outside of my rolls. Fried pickles are good. Perfect crunch and the ranch has a kick to it I can't quite describe, but tastes fresh and made in house. Parking gets crazy on the weekend but huge lot so you just have to walk a little more, no biggie. I don't love how loud it is inside, but that's a minor thing. This was an ok place. The vibe is really nice and it is a great place to watch sports and enjoy time with friends. The service was quick, attentive, and everything you'd expect. The issue for us was the food. We tried the Spicy Roll, Drake's Patty Melt, and All American Mini Burgers. Everything was just OK. The beef for the burgers, while cooked well, was lacking flavor. Great cook on the tator tots as they were crunchy yet soft inside. The sushi menu is big. Actually, that menu along with the main menu has a ton of items, so that may lead to execution problems. Drake's is a chain restaurant that is tough to really describe...its unique in ways, but also very similar to other chains of similar fare. Best I got is a mix between a TGI Friday's and Chili's that also happens to serve sushi... This particular Drake's, which is one of five in Tennessee, sits in the Thoroughbred plaza in Cool Springs, right next to the Starbucks and connected to Carrabba's. The front portion of Drake's is the bar area fitted with high top tables and a decent size bar. The space is outfitted with TV's and even garage doors that are open when the weather allows. The back half is the dining room that features booths and standard tables along with TV's as well. I have dined in both areas, and both have their own vibes. Food wise, Drake's is just ok on quality and on pricing. Something are decently priced like the burgers which average around $14, most of the appetizers are well priced with the exception of the quesadillas and loaded tots...both coming in at $15. Then you scope the sushi menu and you may start rethinking your ordering strategy. Most of the sushi roles, even the standard ones, come in at $10+. I have had a roll or two prior and they are quality rolls, but I would not come here for a full sushi dinner. I would, which is what I have done, add a roll as an appetizer. Quality of food is standard for a spot like this. I have had the burger and fries, quesadilla, wings, tots and a few rolls, and specials. The only reoccurring issue we keep experiencing here is service. I am not sure their service standards relating to helpfulness, but none of our servers have ever been timely or overall helpful. There is always at least one thing that never makes it to the table, even after requests...and also, I usually always have to seek someone out to get a refill on a beverage. We recently moved to Tennessee from Kentucky where the Drake's chain began. Drake's was always one of our favorite restaurants, so we were happy to see that there was one located in Franklin. We easily found a seat and placed an order for some of our favorites, juicy Lucies, a cheddar burger, and fried pickles. Service was good, but we found the food to be not quite what we were hoping for. The pickles were over-fried and the burgers were, unfortunately, a bit on the dry side. Also, I found no soap in the ladies room when I went in to wash my hands (glad I brought my sanitizer). I told one of the servers, but there was still none when I visited again before leaving. We really wanted to love this restaurant, so we plan to give them another try and perhaps try some other menu items next time. Drake's has some very good food with a variety of options, many beers on tap, full bar, lots of TVs for watching the game, and a fun vibe. When the weather is good they open the big windows up front, providing an indoor outdoor feel. The back room tends to bit a little quieter. The place can get crowded, and service can be a little hit or miss depending on who your server is and how busy they are. Most of the food is very good. Good burgers, great apps/snacks, and the sushi is also very good. Yes, good sushi at a place that seems more like a sports bar! Dining in we've almost always had a good experience. I don't really recommend ordering for pickup, as the portions are generally smaller and the prep isn't as good. Dining in most of the food is great. So the weather was miserable back about a week or so ago - I had just finished motorcycle training in the rain and sun freezing temps and was ready for some food and a warm place. My daughter and her boyfriend had spent the day negotiating a new truck for him and forgot to eat so they were starving and asked me to meet them here for dinner. Ambiance: Upon arrival at this place in the center of cool springs on a Saturday night I was expecting a 30min wait and found the seat yourself sign very pleasant but even more pleasant was the fact that there were plenty of open seats. Service: Greeted right away and though I was waiting on my daughter and her boyfriend I got myself a beer and started to be refreshed. They arrived and we sat for a bit waiting for them to order drinks but we were chill... Once we got food ordered the waiter came back semi regularly and was pleasant. Food: I was shocked how good it was / I had the cheddar burger with just pickles and mustard and it was perfectly done medium rare. My daughter had the sliders and she was pleased and even her boyfriend who had the chicken was pleased - everything was great. Price: Surprisingly not over the top like most places today - it was reasonable and for the quality it was quite honestly a great find on the middle of what is normally a lot of chaos in this area considering a Saturday night - but maybe the crappy weather held people off!!! Summary: Based on my experience this is a go to - I will be back and do another review but I'm expecting nothing but the same great meal! read more

Absolutely terrible. Would've rather gone to McDonald's. Waited 45 minutes for food. They brought out 1.5/ 5 meals after 45 minutes and only gave discounts on those two meals. The other 3 meals came about another 10 minutes later and paid full price. Sever never came up to express apologies, never came to refill drinks... nothing. Go to Drakes. We've lived in the area for over a year and just discovered Drakes a month ago. We wanted takeout sushi, and Drakes was closest. You wouldn't expect sushi from what looks like a neighborhood bar when you walk in, but it was excellent. We returned this evening for dinner and to try dining in the bar. The food was great, but the real surprise was the amazing service. In most restaurants, the servers may be attentive, but they seem focused on their own tables. At Drakes, the entire staff worked as a team. If there were an empty dish on the table, whoever walked by would ask if we were done and then take it away. It was great to see such fantastic service. I just left from receiving some of the worst service I've received in a VERY long time! Absolutely awful! We were given the option to sit at the bar instead of waiting for a booth, so we jumped on it. Worst decision ever. The bartender was the worst I've ever experienced. The one and only bartender took our drink order, and served us two drinks that were flat out... no good. She asked if we wanted to order food, so we did. All in the same conversation we asked for an appetizer and her reply was, I already put in your food order so it will come out all together. Of course that's not what I wanted so I said, no thank you. You can't tell me she couldn't remedy that to ensure we received all that we wanted to order?! And that was the Last Time we heard from her. Someone else brought out or meal, the bartender never once asked us, "how are the drinks?," "can I get you another drink?" "Can I get you all anything else?", "How's your meal?"... nothing! How was I sitting at the bar, yet sat there for at least a half hour without water in my glass. I was appalled! I had to stop a waitress on the floor to ask her to get our check, since the bartender decided to completely dismiss our existence and never once make contact with us again. A waitress went and got someone who brought the check. The individual who came over to deliver our check was presumably a manager (since he had on a red shirt), but I have no idea. He asked about our service/meal. My reply to him was "what service"? I told him how awful my experience was. I told him had I not been there before, I'd never be back because of my service alone. I mean.... who orders sushi without the expectation of receiving wasabi with it?? Not me. No one ever checked in, so I finished my $55 meal without making a fuss. He was nice enough to apologize and give me the check, but still didn't offer to fill up my water glass! How do you leave a restaurant thirsty?! Lord, have mercy. I guess it just wasn't my day. I regularly tip exceedingly well. Not today. I couldn't muster up the nerve to even give her $0.01. Worst service EVER. The first bartender was good, the one that relieved her after our first round of drinks and food order.... The absolute WORST. So bad that if I ever come back and she's the bartender, I'll turn around and go somewhere else. Horrible in every aspect. Asked for a box.... Over 40 mins later and nothing. Never once asked if we needed anything and we had to stop her and ask for drinks. When we did order drinks... like 15 minutes to get them.... Then the order was wrong. Tracked her down again after those and ordered another round.... 15 minutes later we got them. Finally I asked for the check and she literally didn't bring it for over 10 minutes and took and served like 3 tickets before a dirty look reminded her and she then got it to us. Drake's is the sort of place you want to love, but sometimes they don't hit the mark. The menu offers elevated bar food, and this is a bar, make no mistake. Sometimes it is hard to get a seat and with no hostess or place to wait, you have to awkwardly eye tables that might be leaving. It is not the greatest situation. This place can be loud as well, but the atmosphere is fun. Service is inconsistent. We have had great service and poor service here. Food is typically good - the teriyaki bowl, the sushi, the fried pickles, are all good. Cocktail and beer menu are decent. Horrible service, forgot to ring in my food arrived at 2:25 asked about my food at 3:00, manager looked it up and said it was just ordered 13 minutes ago. I am more than fine about 13 minutes and would not affect me. She left beer on the tap after forgetting about it so it was warm. Took 10 minutes for bartender to go back to the back bar to get a bottle of wine. Poured my wine and left the wine on the counter to get warm for about 15 minutes, had to ask if they could put it in the cooler.
